Song 5:1-8:14, 2 Corinthians 9:1-15, Psalms 51:1-19, Proverbs 22:24-25

Today is the 7th day of September welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it’s great to be here with you today as we do what we do, which is to take the next step forward together and that’s gonna lead us back into the song of songs or the song of Solomon, which we will conclude today. So, Jill joined me yesterday as we did day one of the song of Solomon and she’ll be here today to help us conclude this reading. And, so, let’s dive in. We’re reading from the Voice Translation this week. Song of Solomon chapter 5 through 8.

Commentary:

Okay. Psalm 51 is what we read today, and it is a Psalm of deep repentance and it’s from David and it’s about Bathsheba as we read at the beginning. So, we’ve read this story already, the story of David’s life and his reign. We know that he was a shepherd who came from nothing, killed a giant, became a national hero, had to grow up really, really fast, had to learn to be very resourceful to stay alive once King Saul had decided that he needed to die. So, when the king decided you needed to die…well…typically you die. And David had to run and stay secluded and hidden. And we went through all of that as he ascended to the throne. We watched his reign, and then we watched later in his life, him staying back from battle and being up on the roof and seeing Bathsheba taking a bath and desiring her and wanting her and going and fetching her and…and eventually, you know, having sex with her and she became pregnant, and she was married, and she was married to one of David’s 30 most loyal warriors. Some of the most brave men in the entire kingdom. And we watched David try to cover it up by bringing him back from the battle lines. But, you know, he was faithful and loyal. He wouldn’t even go home because he didn’t want the comforts of home, and he didn’t want the pleasure of his wife while his brothers were laying in a field encamped for battle. And, so, David sent Uriah. That was his name, Uriah the Hittite. He sent him back to battle with a note to that put him on the front lines and he was killed in battle. Nathan the prophet did confront David with a story about a rich man and a poor man and the poor man only had this one little sheep that he loved. It was part of his family like a pet, slept in the bed with him. And the rich man had a guest and didn’t want to go to his own flock, so he took this little beloved sheep and killed it and served it to his guests. And David was so mad, like just flaming with anger until it was clear that he was that man who took that little sheep. And, so, when we read Psalm 51 with that context, we can see that it’s a heart cry repentance, “have mercy on me. Because of your unfailing love wash me clean. I’m fully aware of all that I’ve done. My guilt is staring at me in the face. It’s against you that I have sinned. These are words of deep repentance, words that we should be familiar with. Maybe we don’t have the same kind of story as David, but we all have shame and regret and we all need change, which is fundamentally what repentance is - to change, to go in a different direction, change your mind. This is a necessary part of life, isn’t it? It’s a necessary part of every day, basically.

Prayer:

Father we come into your presence in that place, in the heart, in that space of repentance. We’re all guilty in some sort of way. We need your mercy we need it every single day. And, so, we pray along with David in the Psalm, “create in us a clean heart, O God. Restore within us a sense of being brand-new. Do not throw us far away from your presence. Do not remove your Holy Spirit from us. Give back the deep delight of being saved by you. Let you’re willing Spirit sustain us. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Song:

Create In Me A Clean Heart - Keith Green

Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me

Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
And take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me

Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me

Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
Take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me

Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me
Create in me a clean heart, oh God
And renew a right spirit within me

Cast me not away from Thy presence, oh Lord
Take not Thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me

Song of Solomon 1:1-4:16, 2 Corinthians 8:16-24, Psalm 50:1-23, Proverbs 22:22-23

Today is the 6th day of September, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible, I’m Brian, it is great to be here with you today as we take the next step forward together, which is what we repeatedly do, every day, take another step forward together in life and in the Scriptures. And this next step forward leads us into some new territory. So, we’ve come through the book of Job, we’ve come through the book of Ecclesiastes and explored some of may be that that kind of stuff we avoid exploring. Kind of stuff we just keep running and running and running to avoid. But the Bible puts it right there in the middle and it’s there so we can, well, so we can take the time to look into what we’re wrestling with. So, in Job we certainly watched Job claim innocence and seek God while his friends were telling him of his guilt and his need for repentance and then we heard from God, who very clearly revealed there’s a whole lot more to any of our stories than we really understand and we remember those famous words from Job when he’s speaking to God, “I had only heard about you before, but now I’m seeing you and I don’t have any, I put my hand over my mouth, I’ve already said too much.” And then we moved into Ecclesiastes and looked at cautionary wisdom from the perspective of a person who had done it and seen it all and ultimately arrived at a place that we spend our whole lives chasing the wind, we could spend our whole lives in meaningless pursuits. But if we can be present and awake to the now to what’s actually happening now and treat what is happening now as a gift and be grateful for what God has given us, then we won’t waste our whole lives trying to achieve the next thing which isn’t to diminish achievement, it’s just what we were talking about, how we can run and run and run and we’re running away from some things and we’re running towards some things but we’re only ever running we’re never actually grateful in the moment that we’re in, we might have gratitude for what God has yet to do in front of us or what he’s done but to be here now is in fact, one of the greatest gifts that we get, we get to be alive in God’s presence now. So, we move through that territory which brings us today into some new territory. This is still part of the grouping of what we would know as wisdom literature, but a very different complexion. This new book we’ll read today and tomorrow and it is known as the Song of Solomon or the Song of Songs and so it’s very, very different than the territory we were in Job and Ecclesiastes. It’s short, like I said, we’ll read it in a couple days but it…it touches a lot of our lives, depending on how we want to read it. So, let’s begin with the fact that this is poetry, and whether we’re poets or whether we’ve studied poetry or whether we’ve maybe rarely ever read a poem, we probably should all understand that poems, they say thing things and rhyme and phrase that is well beyond their words so stanza of poetry that’s super beautiful and super well-constructed can say what all page would need to say if it were just being explained. Poetry uses plenty of metaphorical language so this is like that or allegorical language, symbolic language, where the symbolism has greater meaning and so the Song of Solomon can be read in a number of ways. If…if we just read it as a poem, literally, for what it’s saying, then we will encounter the story of passion and a passionate consummation of love between a man and a woman who are deeply in love with each other, lost in love with one another, and so the poem itself stands on its own, just as it is, a witness to marital love and the bliss that occurs when two become one a, passionate, physical relationship which bothers some people because knowing what’s a sex book in the Bible for? I guess because God created this type of intimacy, invalidates this type of intimacy, but there are other ways, if we look allegorically or metaphorically and look at the Jewish tradition, then this is an allegory of a poem that is intended to show the passionate love, the desire for intimacy that God has for his children, and in this case the Jewish people and that has been a way of reading the Song of Songs for a very, very long time and it’s a fine way to read it. There’s a Christian tradition about the Song of Song’s and that is that it’s an allegorical look at Jesus, at Christ’s love and desire and passion for his bride. So, as we go through this and go through this in any number of ways using any of these lenses and all of them are fine. How is it getting you? How are you receiving it? And so, let’s dive in and drink deep of this beautiful poetry, known as the Song of Solomon and since this poem is largely an interaction between a man and woman, we have a tradition around here at the Daily Audio Bible that my wife Jill, she comes in and we read this together and it’s a favorite for us and she is of course over at Daily Audio Bible chronological, and so, they in the chronological order came to Song of Solomon a little bit earlier and so I was able to read Song of Solomon with her over on chronological earlier this year. Now she’s here with us to read the Song of Solomon together over these next couple of days. So, let’s dive in, Song of Solomon chapters 1 through 4.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for this new week. We thank You for this new territory that we are in as we move through the Song of Solomon. Come Holy Spirit as we transition into some new territory in the Scriptures, open our hearts, open our minds and we might love You well and we might love You from a whole heart, that we might surrender to You, knowing that is the safest thing in the whole and the experience of life that we could ever do. Surrender and walk with You. Come Holy Spirit we pray, all of this we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

dailyaudiobible.com is home base, it’s the website, it’s where you find out what’s going on around here. I always love it when we get to this time that we’re doing Song of Solomon, and Jill gets to join me and I look forward to that every year. That’s fun and that will be happening tomorrow as well and we’ll finish the Song of Solomon and that’s one of the things that are going on around here. But stay tuned and stay connected by being aware of dailyaudiobible.com or the Daily Audio Bible app. If you don’t have the Daily Audio Bible app you can download that from your app store. It’s free and its good way to stay connected stay connected with the journey through the Scriptures because it helps you keep track and see your progress but you can also access the things that are on the website as well. And so, like the Community section. This is, this is a place to get connected, the different links to the places on social media where the Daily Audio Bible is, you can find those there as well as the Prayer Wall and the Prayer Wall is a beautiful thing in this Community because it does matter what time zone, we’re in, we’re all over the world is the Global Campfire Community. And so, when it’s night for me in the rolling hills of Tennessee, it’s daytime somewhere else in the world and so the Prayer Wall is just always on, always happening. There are always things to pray about and maybe it’s our turn. Maybe we’re carrying some things that we’ve been trying to shoulder it all by ourselves, or dragging along all by ourselves and maybe we’re exhausting ourselves when we have brothers and sisters, we have a spiritual family that we can reach out to and the Prayer wall is a very, very good place to do exactly that. So, that is in the Community section, whether on the web or in the app, check it out.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible you can do that on the web at dailyaudiobible.com or in the app. There’s a link on the homepage, on the web. If you’re using the app you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner or the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996 Springhill, Tennessee 37174.

And as always if you have a prayer request or encouragement you can hit the Hotline button in the app or you can dial 877-942-4253.

And that’s it for today, I’m Brian, I love you and I’ll be waiting for you here tomorrow.

Prayer and Encouragements:

Hi, I’m a first-time caller. I’ve only been listening to the DAB for less than a year, I found it by accident. It’s been a great blessing to me. I want to let you know that I pray for all of you and sometimes I pray later and do it again. I’m asking for prayer for my adult children that come back to the Lord and also for I have three grandsons with Autism, that one that’s the worse is non-verbal, he has aggression and self-injurious behavior. And his life is not good, he’s got medical issues and I’m asking for prayer for Willam. And thank you very much. Bye Bye.

Hi DAB this is Ani from Nigeria. First of all congratulations ….. and I’m so thankful for all God is doing for you and in this time, it was much needed journey. Family, I just need prayer to be, today was a hard day, it was a hard day and then I came home. What I need prayer for is just (inaudible) my family. My family is not – towards me but just being around me is almost like – damage. And I – and most times I try to block it out. (Inaudible) And so I’m just praying for healing for myself and for my heart and for my family. There’s a lot of pain and I don’t necessarily know what the solution is but God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than I can imagine. So, I am just desiring this prayer for healing for myself especially. And as I’m going into another season of my life, I’m praying that I don’t carry any of this that I have seen or I have experienced into my own life and internalize it. So, that’s really what I want healing from and just freedom really. Freedom from this situation and everything that it in. So yeah, thank you very much guys, I really appreciate this community and I appreciate this family and I would have never have thought this would have become such a stable force in my life but I’m so thankful for it. Have a good day everybody. Bye.

Hi, this is Victorious Solider, just calling tonight, my heart was really heavy for my precious sister Mercy, the one with the 9 children and the 22 grandchildren. My God Mercy, that is such a challenge that only our God can do. Lord, we just ask you to touch Mercy and her precious family. Oh Lord, in the name of Jesus, we need your healing, not only for the children but also Lord for the mother and even the father that they have to be apart of something of this magnitude. Lord, we just ask you Lord, there is nothing to hard for you as you told Moses. You said nothing is to hard for you. Lord, we just ask you to have mercy Lord on our children Lord. We ask you to bless, we ask you to heal them, we ask you to guide them, we ask you to touch that whole family Father. In the name of Jesus, wrap them in Your arms and protect them Father. In the name of Jesus. I want to also pray for Yolanda. The woman who is in the hospital with COVID and her precious baby, about to deliver her baby. God, You are a doctor that (inaudible). The doctors may not know how to handle this but You know how to handle anything. We just ask your protection, we just ask your wisdom, to give them wisdom they need. Oh Lord, that this baby and this mother will be fine. Lord, You open doors no man can close. Oh Father, in the name of Jesus, I saw Your rainbow yesterday and Your promises and Your promises are still fresh that you are God that won’t hold back anything from them. Lord, they Love You so much, we ask You to touch, we ask You to heal, we ask you to deliver and set free. And this COVID Lord, and every aspect of a way, even in this young woman’s life, You have Your way, Father. In the name of Jesus. I want to also pray for God’s Life Speaker who’s struggling with her 21-year-old.

Hi, this is Marked As His, I haven’t called in a long time. But I’m calling years later because I realize that my husband and I need more help than we can do on our own. I don’t know if you guys remember but I was in nurse practitioner school, I have now completed my program. So, I’m a doctor or nursing practice, family nurse practitioner. My husband, we got married last November, we’re both dairy farmers and things are very, very hard right now. We don’t have enough help. We are working very long hours because we believe in what we do and being stewards of the land. But we’re tired and we want to start a family and we devoted all of our time and our energy and our focus towards building this farm and now we’re really struggling to keep it going. So, if you could all please pray for providence, we keep praying for daily bread every day and you know, it seems like we have enough just to get through today but we really wanna live abundantly. And, right now, it seems like the harvest is really dry. So, thank you all and take care, bye.

Hello, DAB fam this is Laura from Eugene. I just wanted to thank everyone for the updates. It has been so good to hear updates and GG, thank you for calling in. You were such a blessing; I pray for God to continue to bless you. And it was so good to hear about Izzy’s situation, I will keep Izzy and the family in my prayers. I just have a little story and a prayer request to tell as well. My friend was at the gym and he see’s this woman in a wheelchair with a significant injury to her leg, it looks like a hole in her leg basically. And my friend notices this and then she hears the Lord tell her to pray with this woman. And my friend does probably what I would do and just say Lord, are you talking to me? Do you mean hear? Do you mean now, really? And my friend wrestles with this a little bit but she goes and speaks with the woman and the woman proceeds to tell her that she’s been to many doctors and no one can heal her or help her get better and so my friend says well, I would like to pray with you and the woman immediately says well, what good is that gonna do? No doctors can help me, I don’t think that can help, and so my friend says well, I could either pray with you or I’ll just pray for you as I go and the woman continues to resist and my friend says okay and she starts to leave and as my friends leaving the woman says well, wait, what can it hurt. And so, my friend prayed for her and I’m just gonna ask for our community to also pray for this woman, her name is Joan and she has the hole in her leg that doctors cannot heal. And we know that God is the great healer and we know this community prays so I would love for God to be glorified through this woman.

Ecclesiastes 10:1-12:14, 2 Corinthians 8:1-15, Psalms 49:1-20, Proverbs 22:20-21

Today is September 5th welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m by Brian it is wonderful to be here with you as we greet a brand-new week, and we walk through the threshold together and look out across what will be and realize none of it is yet to be yet. I don’t even know if that’s proper English, but none of it is here yet it’s in front of us and we have…we have a say. And if we plan and consider our steps, we have a say in what this week is going to look like. And, so, allowing the Scriptures to be a part of those decisions…yeah…that’s only gonna do us…that’s only gonna do us good. And, so, let’s take that next step forward together. We’ve been reading from the book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament. We will conclude this work of Ecclesiastes today and move forward into some new territory tomorrow. This week we’ll read from the Voice Translation. Ecclesiastes chapters 10, 11, and 12.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You. We thank You for Your word and we thank You as we walk into this brand-new shiny sparkly week that Your word is there to guide us as we come together around this Global Campfire every day, as we come into this oasis of safety together to allow You to speak. And, so, come Holy Spirit and plant what we’ve learned today, what we read today in our hearts and continue to challenge us with all of the different places in our hearts and lives that You’ve touched so far this year through the Scriptures. We open ourselves to the continued transformative nature of sanctification as we continue the process of being set apart, being made holy. Come Jesus we ask in Your precious name. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Hey DAB family this is Lita calling from Maryland. This goes out to Gigi from G…from Gville. I heard your testimony on August 30th, and it aired on August 27th. I’m a little behind but I’m so glad that I didn’t skip ahead and miss your testimony. Girl, I am so proud of you, how you got the revelation that God has brought you through, that he healed you, He healed you of Lyme disease, He comforted you over your father’s death and now He’s blessed you with a baby. And I am so excited for you and so happy for you. And it just takes that revelation and the prayers of the DAB family. So, I am really excited for you, grateful for your testimony, and just thankful that you got that revelation girl. Everything will be well. Take care.

Hey DAB family this is his Beloved in Texas and I just ask you guys to come…to just agree with me in prayer right now. Father You know the financial struggles that my family’s going through right now and I know that You can make a way where there seems to be no way. Father You can provide all of our needs according to Your riches and glory in Christ Jesus and Your strengths are made of gold so there is nothing that our God cannot do. There is no…there is no lack that You can’t fill Father. And I just pray that You will forgive us for the times that we’ve not been good stewards of what You’ve given us Father. I ask for wisdom in that stewardship Lord, and I ask for blessing. I ask for You to just show up and show out Father and for that to be a testament of Your power and Your glory and Your love to my 14-year-old who doesn’t even believe there is a God Father. I pray that You would use these situations to show Yourself to her, not only to strengthen our faith but to show Yourself to her in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Hello, my beautiful family it’s Susan from Canada, God’s Yellow Flower calling in and this is August 31st and today is one of those days where every single one of the prayer requests have touched my heart, especially the lady who called in who has many children and grandchildren and found out her husband is a pedophile. And having had some sexual…childhood sexual abuse, not from my father but from other people I’m really, really with that and I pray healing upon the children and grandchildren and healing and forgiveness and mercy within the wife’s soul for her husband and of course for her healing…for her husband as well. Dear sweet Jesus You heard my prayer request and I just ask Your healing touch upon each and every one that is…it is a disaster like she said, and I just ask that You move in this family. Be the comfort, be the healing power within and help forgiveness and mercy to reign in that family. Unite them together in cords of love that cannot be broken as they support one another and work through this horrible, horrible situation. Lord God help them well to recover and soar with You once again. In Jesus’ precious and holy name, I pray Amen.

Hi, my name is Jack I live in Birmingham. So, I’ve got these like really hard tests coming up and I was hoping you guys could pray for me before the tests start. And I usually don’t do very well so that’s the reason I’m calling in. If you could pray for me that would be really helpful.

Hi this is Paul from Ohio. I am once again amazed as I listen to the Daily Audio Bible. I’ve been listening for over a decade, and it still amazes me that this seems to be one of the only places in the world that I found where people truly, truly love each other the way Jesus loved us or loved the church. People cry for other people they’ve never met on the other side of the world. I mean there’s no hidden motives there. We are truly invested in the welfare of our brothers and sisters and just seeing that lets me know, gives me faith that this exists as it says in John 13:34-35, a new commandment I give you, love one another as I have loved you. So, you also must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. Again, where else do we see this? Where else do we see a British man praying for an American person who they’ve never met, they’ve never seen? They’re crying tears for their travails. It is truly amazing and truly faith providing, faith insurance for me. And we know the last 30 minutes is the hardest part of faith and it’s with each other that we get through that. I pray everybody has a blessed day. Amen.

Ecclesiastes 7:1-9:18, 2 Corinthians 7:8-16, Psalm 48:1-14, Proverbs 22:17-19

Today is the 4th day of September, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible, I’m Brian it’s great to be here with you as we bring to the close another one of our weeks together. This first close of the week, in this brand-new month and tomorrow we’ll start this first full-blown Sunday through Saturday week in the month of September. So, let’s dive in and take the next step forward that will lead us back into the book of Ecclesiastes, which we have been working our way through for the last few days. We’re reading from the New International Version this week, Ecclesiastes 7 through 9.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word and we thank You for the Proverb that You teach even us, even us, You give us the ability to have wisdom, if we’ll slow down and pay attention. And so, as we continue our journey through Ecclesiastes and Proverbs and Psalms make us wise. It seems that becoming wise is to become aware and to observe and to learn and to be content and to be satisfied and to take the long view and pause and consider what You are saying before we react, those are life lessons to be sure, and they may take our entire life to learn but we want to be walking in the right direction and not have to retrace steps or go in circles anymore. We want to be moving in the right direction, intentionally, one foot in front of the other. The next step forward together toward wisdom. So come Holy Spirit, lead us into all truth, we ask in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer and Encouragements:

Hi everybody, this is Veronica calling in from Oklahoma City. I’ve called in a few times before to ask for prayer for this reason but my little brother is 20-years-old and has Outports which is a kidney disease. He is on dialysis; he had a handful of seizures yesterday before being transferred to the hospital via ambulance. It’s a very small town, they kept him there for a couple of hours and then transported him via helicopter to a larger town. He is currently in ICU, he is intubated, his blood pressure is still high. He has leisure’s on his brain that were caused by the consistent high blood pressure due to the kidney failure. My mom is there with him. Please ask for prayer for him, he has a twin brother who also is on dialysis and a little younger sister who is 17 who will eventually be on dialysis also. It is a genetic kidney disease that they all three have called Outports. So, please, please, please pray, we desperately need your prayers. My mom just lost her best friend and her father within the last six months so this is really difficult, really difficult time. Anyway, I’m running out of time.

Hey Daily Audio Bible, this is Susie from Colorado calling to tell my brothers and sisters in Christ that your prayers have lifted me up. Before I go any further I wanna just reach out to Dr. John. Dr. John, me and the kids are praying for you and your eyesight. Please don’t be discouraged, my brother, we love you so much. I’m actually in Haiti and I’m starting to feel a lot more encouraged because of your prayers. I was really down, as you all know, quite depressed, but I’m seeing my kids and that just makes me so happy. My little kids actually packed over 300 aid relief boxes for the earthquake victims here and then we took them with trucks and went to the epicenter of the earthquake and my little kids passed out, we passed out 40,000 meals and so we just feel like God has blessed us. I’m sitting here with son Ronald and he wanted to say something to you all. Hello guys, my brothers and sisters in Christ. May God bless you. So thank you for supporting us in your prayers that help us to know who we are in God. So, your prayer, just helping us to be safe. You know our country has a lot of big stuff happen, like the earthquake. And your prayers has made great miracles in our life. So, my brothers, my sisters, my mom feed the people that have no house, no where to stay.

Hello Brian, it’s Righteously Ransomed. I wanted to share something that I feel like God has laid on my heart cause this is something that has happened to me a long time ago. But I was at the very end of my rope, feeling this massive weight on my chest. Desperate in search for just a change at a breath. A pain in distress, a life full of regret. All that awaits me is death. As the coldness enclosed a whisper speaks to my soul – “Don’t give up, not just yet, you are Mine, don’t forget that debt paid for in full by the blood of My Son, blood so pure it can clean the soul.” And I feel a weight begin to pull slowly away. At last, a new breath I can take. My heart no longer to ache from all these mistakes for they are gone by his namesake. By his namesake. That was something that God put me on me 24 hours before I was in a hospital bed fighting for my life. Maybe somebody else needs it. You guys have a great one. Love you. Bye.

Hello, hello beautiful DAB family. This is Christian Fletcher in Oceanside, California. I listen to you every day I’m here I’m here I’m here. I prayed a couple months back to bring women of faith into my life. They came into my life. Now, I just I have no time. But I listen to the DAB every day, all day. So, I work, I deliver mail and so I work six days a week and its 60 hour weeks, so I just work and so that entire time, I am listening to you and I cry with you while I’m working and I’m just praying, I’m in the truck. I hear you I hear you. I wanted to let you know I love you. I am here, I am listening. I don’t call in, I want to, every second, but I’m finally sending this so you all can know I hear you, I am right there with you, I feel what you are going through and I thank you, I thank you so much, you impact my life so positively. I feel the love, I feel the encouragement and I just I’m so thankful for you and I just am finally getting on here to tell you all. So, thank you so much for everything you do. Love you, bye family.

Hello my DAB family, this is Walking in the Light in Tennessee. I haven’t really called in for sometime now. A lot going on in my life and in my family. And in my spirit as well as I’m sure many of you understand. But I heard the commentary on Job from the 24th I think it was of August, just heart it. And it really spoke to me because I know I haven’t gone to the depths of Job but it seems like my life has been one issue after another, after another, one heartbreak, one headache, one this, one that. And you know it just gets to be a little overwhelming so, I come asking for prayers on behalf of me and my sons, my family. And I pray for so many of you. I love you all, I listen to the stories, the requests, the discipline that you know it just gets to be a little overwhelming, so I come asking for prayers on behalf of me and my sons my family and I pray for so many of you I love you all on this to the stories the requests, the situations, everything and so I know that we’re all going through and so I know that I also don’t get a pass, but life can get a little overwhelming, so Brian I wanted to say to you that the commentary on Job was spectacular. I go to Job a lot as I read and it seems like to be one of the places that I’m drawn to in the Scriptures, and it goes so deep in so many ways and so it really spoke to me tonight and I just want to say thank you for pouring yourself into the Daily Audio Bible to your family, to all of you for the grace and the for the privilege of listening is so special to me and so I asked for your prayers ask all of you for the prayers. Remember, my son, Marcus, who is struggling so much with alcoholism and is just really taken a toll on me. Love you guys. Love you all dearly and Audio Bible, Daily Audio Bible, that’s where it’s at. God bless you all.

Ezekiel 22-23

Welcome to Daily Audio Bible Chronological. I’m Jill, and it is the third day of September. It’s a brand new month. Let me just put this year into perspective. We are four months away from Christmas. I know it’s still hot for a lot of us. We can’t even think about it. But when you get to this time of the year, it just seems to fly by and we’ll go, how did we get to Christmas already? So here is your loving reminder that you have four months until Christmas. Okay. The third day of September, that’s been established. We are reading in Ezekiel and we’re reading Chapter 22 and 23 today. And we’re reading in the New International version this week. And if I didn’t say, I’m Jill. And it’s great to be here with you, today. Ezekiel chapter 22.

Prayer:

Oh, Father, we thank you for your word again. We thank you that you graciously, speak to us. You…through your people. Sometimes people. It doesn’t make sense to people You use to graciously warn us, to show us the dangers ahead. You show us the dangers of not following through. And you welcome us back if we would just swallow our pride, humble ourselves, let down our guard and come back to you. I thank you for the many, many times you spoke in my life to people, through other people, things that didn’t make sense. Things that did make sense out of the clear blue. It gave me hope- that renewed my hope again. That helped me endure a little longer. I pray, Father, that we would endure well, a little longer, as it gets dark and it gets bleak. Sometimes we look for the love of Christ and all we see is hate and division, hypocrisy, selfishness. But if we look deeper, we will find you. We will find your love. If we look in the mirror, we are reminded we bear the image of God. You are there. You are in us. Nothing can separate us. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. So we thank you for these words today. May we take heed. May we take notice. May we do inventory once again on our own hearts. Are we exuding the love of Christ to all we come into contact with? We pray this in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Community Prayer Line:

Hi DABC, this is Emmy from Illinois. I am calling in requesting prayer for my dad today. He is going to turn 80 on Friday and was put on a ventilator yesterday due to COVID. He’s had it for a couple of weeks now and his oxygen levels were just not getting up there without massive help from the bypass machine and a couple of other things. So just asking for prayer that he’ll be able to relax into this and heal so that he can come out of it. I know he’s lived a long and healthy and prosperous life. And he would have no regret going home to the Lord. But selfishly, I want him here to meet my baby in three months, and I’m not ready to let him go. So if you can pray for us, that would be great.

Good morning, my DABC family. It’s Susan from Canada, God’s Yellow Flower calling. And I left a message in the DAB and I’m going to ask again here for prayer for President Biden, whether you agree with him or not. He’s the President of the United States of America, and he needs God’s wisdom right now. So, dear Lord, I just come before you with President Biden in my heart, and I bring him before the throne of Grace and ask that your wisdom be imparted on to him, that he would have the heart of God within Him, the wisdom of God and the courage and strength of God. And we pray that the decisions he makes concerning Afghanistan and how this bombing will affect the world. We pray dear God, that you would impart your wisdom on to him as he is burdened with this responsibility. I pray to your God that the supporters he has in the military will give good and Godly advice. I don’t know what the answer is, but you do, Lord. You know all things. I pray the light of Christ which shine upon Afghanistan and that God the one true God would be revealed and that many people would come to know you through this horrible situation. In Jesus precious and Holy name I pray. Amen.

Giving all praise, glory and honor to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is the head of my life. This is Walking in the Wilderness in Georgia, Laura. And I just need to say, Jill, Jill, Jill my sister in Christ. Woman, what you said at the end of today, this would be August the 28th message was so on point. I receive that I’m not offended by it because I can have opinions all day long. But if it doesn’t line up with the word and the will of the Father, the Creator, the mighty King of King and Lord of Lords, it doesn’t matter. Thank you, Jill, for your obedience to speaking what God placed in your spirit to say. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Forgive my breathing heart. I’m walking on my treadmill. But I could not stop and get off to say what I had to say because I’m being obedient to the Spirit of the Lord. Peace and blessings to everyone. Love you.

Ecclesiastes 4:1-6:12, 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:7, Psalms 47:1-9, Proverbs 22:16

Today is the 3rd day of September welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it’s great to be here with you today. Yeah, we’re moving toward the end of the week still getting moved into a brand-new month working our way through a new book, the book of Ecclesiastes, which we talked about yesterday as a part of the grouping of books known as wisdom literature. And Solomon in Ecclesiastes is kind of giving us the lay of the land from the perspective of a person who has lived their life with no boundaries, going after and having access to whatever they could dream of and what that perspective brings when you’re older and looking back. So, Ecclesiastes 4, 5, and 6 today.

Commentary:

Okay, as we continue our journey through the book of Ecclesiastes, we are receiving cautionary wisdom. The book is articulating some things where we could be like, this is in the Bible? This is being said out…out loud out of the Bible? And it’s not that it’s so foreign or strange. It’s our experiences. We have experienced many of these things and come to these conclusions of, what am I doing all this for? What is the point of all of this? Where is all of this going? Where does this lead to? Why am I killing myself to do this? Those kinds of questions are things that we arrive at in exhaustion and frustration at times in our lives. It…it's…just…just that when we…we do encounter those kinds of situations we have friends around us that are giving us…feeding us Bible verses of encouragement and we’re doing the same thing to ourselves, which is fine, it’s just that Ecclesiastes is doing that. It’s letting it be kind of what it is so that it can be a cautionary offering of wisdom. So, let’s just look back at a couple of points of wisdom coming from the book of Ecclesiastes today. And I quote. “I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.” Right? So, this idea that we can one up or we need to stay in competition with each other, it does propel us forward, it does drive us but unto what? What do we get if we win? More stuff and less life? Ecclesiastes is saying this is kind of a…a pointless attempt. It’s meaningless. It’s like chasing the wind. Or “a dream comes when there are many cares, and many words mark the speech of a fool.” Right? So, restless sleep when there is anxiety, and many many cares and obligations and responsibilities that they…they just keep being churned in our mind, even while we’re asleep. And, so, we wake up tired. I am a person…I have definitely experienced this in my life plenty of times. And it goes on to say, “many words mark the speech of a fool.” Right? So, the one that’s always gabbing, the one that’s always talking, the one that never listens, the one that never understands the value of silence, that marks the speech of a fool. Or this, “whoever loves money never has enough. Whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.” In other words, enough will never be enough. And that is cautionary and important wisdom because we’re hearing this wisdom from someone who had it all. And, so, this idea, if I could just achieve this place, if I could just arrive at a certain level of security, if I could just have this much than that will be enough because then the things that I want to do I can do. What we’re being told is once you get on that treadmill, it’s never going to be enough and in the end you accumulate a lot of stuff and chase the wind or miss life. Or this one. When God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them to accept their lot and be happy in their toil, this is a gift from God. They seldom reflect on the days of their life because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart. So, in other words, a person who is satisfied is a person who understands what they have has been given from God and accepting and appreciating that, having the ability to just enjoy where you are in the process. This is a gift of God. And those who have found that place, they’re not always out in front of themselves and they’re…they’re not always living in the past mistakes because they’re occupied with gladness of heart in the now. Wow! Could we…could we use that lesson. So, what we’re seeing is wisdom being dispensed and given to us in such a way that cautions us about the natural tendencies…tendencies we have to try to create an identity that when we reach the conclusion the closing chapters of our lives, we will look back and feel like we wasted so much time, that there was so much meaninglessness. This is wisdom being given to us in a cautionary way so that we get off that treadmill so that we don’t follow that path so that we find meaning in where we are right now instead of the hope for meaning in a future that we envision, that will still be in adequate when we get there because we will just need to go on to the next thing and never actually really truly and fully appreciate the gifts that are bestowed upon us by God that have less to do with accumulation and more to do with actually living.

Prayer:

Father, we invite You, of course, like every day, we invite You into what…what we’ve read, we invite and ask Your Holy Spirit to plant what we’ve read in our hearts and in our lives so that it will stick, so that it will become part of the fabric of who we are and so that the wisdom being offered to us can be heeded so that we can live an abundant life so that we can realize that what that looks like may be different than what our culture is trying to tell us. Come Holy Spirit. May we find satisfaction and contentment in You we pray. In Jesus’ name we ask. Amen.

dailyaudiobible.com is home base, it’s the website and that is how to get connected and stay connected and find out what’s going on around here. So, check that out. If you don’t have the Daily Audio Bible app download that. It’s free from…from…well…from…from your app store depending on which device that you have. But it’s free and you can download it and you can access all of the things that we’re talking about here at the web within the app. There’s a little Drawer icon in the upper left-hand corner of the app screen that does what it’s supposed to do, it opens a drawer and then you can find things like the Community section. And within the Community section you can find different links to where we are on social media. Also there in the Community section is the Prayer Wall, a very important part of what we do around here around the Global Campfire is pray for each other. It is a beautiful thing, actually, to behold. And on some days, it’s extraordinarily humbling to hear what people are willing to offer, like to hear a piece of your life to…to hear your story, to hear your struggle, to hear your victory. It’s a humbling thing when that is offered to the community as a gift. And we have always treated that way. We have loved each other well and that’s what we will continue to do so. And, so, we pray for one another, and the Prayer Wall is a place to go. It’s always happening. There’s always things to pray for and it’s always open for requesting prayer from those in the community who are there. So, be sure to check that out. It’s in the…well…the Community section.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, thank you humbly, with deep gratitude. This mission that we launched…well…almost 16 years ago now and that we just began and have never stopped, and have never missed a day was always centered around bringing the spoken word of God to whoever would listen to it and knowing that it’s a rhythm and knowing that so many…so many millions and millions of people start the Bible but so few finish it. So, to be able to navigate through a year to live a year of life together showing up every day around the Global Campfire taking the next step forward together and then praying for one another, if that makes a difference in your world than thank you for your partnership. We wouldn’t be here if we weren’t in this together. So, there is a link on the homepage. If you’re using the app, you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner or the mailing address is PO Box 1996 Spring Hill Tennessee 37174.

And, of course, if you have a prayer request or encouragement you can hit the Hotline button in the app or you can dial 877-942-4253.

And that’s it for today. I’m Brian I love you and I’ll be waiting for you here tomorrow.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Good afternoon Daily Audio Bible family my name is Josh from Omaha. I just wanted to call in today after attending a funeral of a young man a 53-year-old man. I was prompted to just call him the day before he passed away and I didn’t. Again, I was prompted two weeks ago to call in an I didn’t hear it and I’m doing it today. My daughter went to school at Creighton University and had an anxiety attack. And since then, we’ve gone…come to find out that so many young men and women are facing the same thing especially now in our nation today. And we just want to come against the spirit of fear and anxiety, and we want to cast that out. And if you want to join me in the prayer today, I’d really appreciate it. My daughter’s name is Emily and I just want to pray for anybody and everybody that’s in our nation today, that they would be free of anxiety. So, would you please join me in prayer? Dear Jesus, we just come against the spirit of the evil one today and I call out him and I ask in Your name Jesus would You just call out anxiety, fear, angst, depression, panic, pain, and suffering and that You would crush them underneath Your feet in Jesus’ name. And I just put a call in and say that you have no hold on our children or adults today or ever from this day on and I cast them out and I pronounce that the battle is won in Jesus’ name. Amen.

My name is Dora and I want…can you please pray for me because I…I am scared and I…I don’t want to be scared and I want to believe that God is with me every time I go…

Hello, DABbers this is God’s Chosen from Georgia. I’m calling in to ask for prayer for all medical workers in different capacities. Pray for God’s protection over them. Pray that God almighty would give them wisdom as to discharge their duties. Pray that God will give them compassion. We pray also, that in everything they do they will see the love of God and the peace that He gives. Pray also for all patients, those whose bodies are wrapped up with pain, those who are dealing with cancer, those who are dealing with terrible diseases and so many others whose conditions are beyond repair. Please pray that God will visit them in a divine way and pray for peace all over the world. We all need Jesus. So, come and save us from all the chaos, the uncertainty, and the decay of the society. Pray that peace would reign, that God will have compassion over all His children.

Hey DAB it’s Emmy from Illinois I’m just calling asking for prayer for my dad. He is a retired pastor about to turn 80 this week and has had COVID the last two weeks and was put on a ventilator yesterday. There are thousands of people that he has touched over the years that are praying for him but I’m asking for additional prayer support from my DAB family. I am 28 weeks pregnant and would really love for my dad to meet my baby. So, if you could just pray for that. Also, I’m on my way right now to get my glucose test done for pregnancy. And while I’m not concerned just based on my overall health, but still a little nervous about the idea of having to deal with gestational diabetes. So, if you could just pray. I know that you will get this long after the test is done but just pray for healing in that way as…well…not healing but that I be healthy with that as well. And then just lastly just continued prayers for my marriage and that this baby and just life would settle, and my husband would reach back out to God, find satisfaction and contentment in God. Thank you.

Hi DAB community this is Jeanette from Denmark I wanna send a great big thank you for this continuing DAB ministry. I’m in my 11th year of listening. I was originally from the States and when I began, I really wanted something for my faith also in English that would keep my heart going. It’s a little bit difficult when you’re an expatriate. My husband started listening about four years ago and right now he’s moved on to the chronological reading. He loves being able to listen in the quiet hours in the morning of the afternoon and we’ve been really blessed by the prayer time. We…we have a community of people who are strong believers here in Denmark. And you guys, we remember you in our prayers so much because there are strong heart ties between Denmark and the United States in the faith community. We love you so much and we want you to know that God is with you. No matter what is going on He is constantly with you and loves you so dearly. He loves us and He loves you and we are as the body of Christ with Christ at the head and Jesus a powerful God. He walked here He was resurrected from the dead and He indeed is coming for his people as well, the bride of Christ. We love you very much. Remember you are a part of something big and it’s going to be wonderful. We love you.

Ecclesiastes 1:1-3:22, 2 Corinthians 6:1-13, Psalm 46:1-11, Proverbs 22:15

Today is the 2nd day of September, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible, I’m Brian. It’s awesome to be here with you today as we gather and find our place around the Global Campfire and take the next step forward together and we’ve just stepped into a new month, but we are also stepping into a brand-new book in the Bible today. The book of Ecclesiastes, having finished the book of Job yesterday and Job and Ecclesiastes, as well as Proverbs and Song of Solomon and some of the Psalms, these are part of a grouping of books in the Scriptures known as wisdom literature. That’s where we are camping out of this portion of the year as we move through. And this new book. Ecclesiastes, traditionally is ascribed to Solomon. But that’s like so many other things in the Scriptures have been debated. A likely scenario is that this work did originate with Solomon and was updated and modified and translated and brought forward and modernized through time as…as the Scriptures have been, as they’ve been ported into new languages and all of the different meanings of different words have been debated and wrestled with, Ecclesiastes would be no different. So, Solomon we remember…remember King David and then his son Solomon, and he led ancient Israel to its greatest hour: the building of the temple, peace and prosperity on all sides, wisdom flowing among the people. So, we’ll notice that getting into Ecclesiastes is very different than what we might expect from one of the greatest people who ever lived, because in some ways it’s like depressing rant. But if we have a little bit of context, it’s really a deeply penetrating look into the human heart, into our own hearts because everybody has goals and dreams, right, aspirations, things we would like to achieve. And, we even have kind of far-fetched like oh pie-in-the-sky kind of stuff that we probably will never do. But Solomon didn’t have that issue. Solomon had the opposite. He had everything, everything he could possibly imagine or think of he could have. So, we get this perspective from a person who has essentially done it all and seen it all, nothing was off-limits, anything he wanted to pursue he could pursue. And, Ecclesiastes is kind of a look back over it all. And the person who’s done and seen it all, concludes that all of it can be completely meaningless. It can be chasing the wind, it can be something that you, can never be full, that there can never be enough and when you’ve accumulated it all then what do you have? Most people would be like yeah, I would like to have that problem. I would like to find out for myself. But few people ever achieve that, Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes gives us a perspective from that place, and ironically, it’s not a bunch of self-worship and look how great I am and look at all of my stuff and glory over all of my achievements. It’s just a very, very different perspective than that and so this does come at a good time for us after the book of Job, after we’ve wrestled with suffering and moved through that territory to now come into some territory where we consider what would it be like if everything I ever wanted, what if I got everything I ever wanted. Would I be full? Would I be whole? Would I be complete? And so, let’s drink in together the book of Ecclesiastes. Today we will read chapters 1, 2 and 3; we’re reading from the New International Version this week.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word. Thank You for this new territory that we’re moving into not only in the new month but in this new book Ecclesiastes. We invite Your Holy Spirit into our time interacting with Ecclesiastes and also looking at what is driving us, what is motivating us in different we get everything that is driving and motivating us, what do have will, will we be full, how can we appreciate the journey, paying attention to it as the days go by, appreciating what You have given us, appreciating what we have. Holy Spirit, we invite You to come into the questions that arise and the postures of our hearts, motivations of our actions and our thoughts and words. Come Jesus we pray in your mighty name. Amen.

Prayer and Encouragements:

Hey Daily Audio Bible family, this is Kat in Texas. I’ve been listening since January of 2013. I’m a Double DABer. I don’t call in very often but I pray along with the Prayer Requests everyday and whether you call in or not, I lift you up in prayer. I don’t know your names but God always knows our names. I’m sitting in a hospital parking lot in Austin, Texas. My husband’s inside the hospital with his mom and his sister and it looks like his dad is gonna pass away. So, can you please put them and our family up in prayers. Thank you so much. I love you all.

Hi DAB friends, hope ya’ll are having a great day. I wanted to reach out and ask you if you would pray for my sister. I want to remain anonymous but I still wanted to reach out and ask for prayer. She’s been really battling with her mental health over the last year. She’s a wonderful believer and she actually is the first person that shared about Jesus with me and prayed for me to become a Christian also. So, she’s just got a huge place in my heart and it’s so hard to see her struggling the way she is and she’s gotten help over the last year but it’s been a bit up and down. We thought that she was doing better but her husband and I are getting a bit concerned. She seems likes she’s going downhill again but isn’t really aware of it and we’re just not really sure what to do. So, if you could please pray with us for her to have, for Jesus to give her a sound mind for Him to heal her depression and anxiety. For her to have peaceful sleep and just for her to be healed in the name of Jesus. So, thank you so much for praying with us, love you all. Bye.

Hello, Daily Audio Bible family I’m a first-time caller, Lou from Utah and I just need your prayers. A little over a week ago my sweetheart of 38 years took his own life. And he had been suffering with nerve pain and terrible panic attacks for a long, long time. He had a industrial accident 24 years ago and he has had pain ever since. Well, he just reached the point where he was just so done with pain. The kids and I, three kids, grown with their own kids. Their all trying to grapple with this and it’s hard. One minute you’re feeling one way and the next minute you feel another way and you wonder if you’re ever gonna feel kind of normal again. Just need your prayers for my family to find peace from this traumatic shock. And to be able to go on and serve our Lord without having a big wound. And I know you’ll pray for me cause I’ve been listening to you guys pray for others forever and your so faithful. I would appreciate it. God bless this Daily Audio Bible. Bye Bye.

Hi, this is GoldBerry from Sequwuachi County, Tennessee and I’m calling for Carmen. I’m so sorry for the lose of your son. I wanted to encourage you with a scripture from Psalm 27 I will remain confident of this I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. My daughter had a baby in February of 2020 and he died about 30 minutes after he was born and she lost another baby to miscarriage almost exactly a year later. And so I understand the grief and I know that it can be ongoing but I just wanted to encourage you that the Lord’s presence is with us even if our questions aren’t answered not so unlike Job. We can have his presence but we don’t always get the answer to the why. But stay with Him and walk with Him in your pain.  And don’t listen to the people around you who think you should be over it. I think it takes a lifetime to grieve something like that. Thank you to Renzo for your continued calls and prayers on the behalf of other DABers. And Jonathan, who called requesting for prayer, you are not disgusting, you have a beautiful vulnerable heart and your request for prayers will not go unheard. May God Bless you and keep you as you aspire to walk with Him and may God give you peace and mercy and grace without shame. God Bless you.

Hello DAB this is People on the Water from Indiana. Just wanted to call in really fast and just mention some people. There was a women who was waking up early to help her brothers take care of her parents, quick story short, come on, she was trying to help her dad and really see if he knew who Christ was and just share the Gospel with him. She’s been waking up early for work so she has a lot on her plate Lord. I’m not praying that you would take that away but I’m praying that you would give her wisdom in order to deal with that. Secondly, Jonathan from Denver, he stayed away from porn for a good amount of time. Dude, let’s go man, come on, come and he was praying for someone else. You know, I was thinking, you know, God very well may and is in the position to use that last time that you viewed pornography, that that may very well be your last time, just kind of encouraging on that. Okay, a man called him about his friend of 20 years and he was 82 years old and he was just praying for him and COVID and what not. Then the Harvey family whose also been introduced to this COVID and that was Terry the Trucker. I’m just praying for them; I’m lifting you up. Slave of Jesus in NC, I realize that you are the person that say’s “all right Holy Spirit let’s roll” and I just really like that. Okay, I got like 20 seconds left, okay, new people who are coming on DAB, thank you for coming on, welcome. Job 40:1-42:17, 2 Corinthians 5:11-21, Psalms 45:1-17, Proverbs 22:14

Today is the 1st day of September welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it is a joy and a privilege to be here with you today just like it is every day, but it’s always nice on these brand-new beginnings. And here we are, throwing ourselves into a brand-new month. Today is the 244th day of the year which means it’s the 244th time that we’ve been able to get together like this and do what we do, take the next step forward together and that next step forward will lead us back into the book of Job. And as we begin this month, we will conclude the book of Job today. And just reminding us, Job’s been looking for God, trying to figure out where he could find an audience with God to plead his case. And God showed up yesterday and had unanswerable questions for Job. And God will continue to speak in today’s reading as we conclude the book of Job. We’re reading from the New International Version this week. Job 40, 41, and 42 today.

Commentary:

Okay, so we…we concluded the book of Job today and let’s remember that Job had an entire case prepared to present to God. He had a significant amount of questions to ask God. He had worked through some of those questions with his friends, but they had no answers and he…he didn’t want their human wisdom because he knew what they were going to say. He wanted God to answer him. And then God showed up and started asking really big God sized questions and Job then realized he didn’t actually have anything to say after all. And, so, when God is like, “okay, buddy. You got questions and you’re spewing them out? Then let’s play the game of questions.” And God asks questions that Job cannot answer while God reveals just how involved he is in all of the different aspects of the world. And in many ways this is what the text is leading us toward. There are always going to be questions. There are always bigger questions. There will always be things that we do not understand but when we come into the presence of God all of our pride and arrogance and all of the questions and all of the stuff that we’re going to say, it like…it’s just…it’s gone. There’s nothing to say which is what Job said. He said I had only heard about you before, but now I see you and I don’t have anything to say…like I put my hand over my mouth and shut up. So, it’s interesting because it leaves us with some questions. Like when we find ourselves in a time or season of suffering do we need God to fix it or do we need God? Do we need the answers that we may or may not understand or do we need God? What the book of Job…Job leads us to conclude is that there is way more going on than we ever understand. We get very very self…self-absorbed, especially if we’re in trial, we’re in pain of some sort, we’re suffering in some sort of way, it becomes our obsession. It might even become our dark idol. It’s the only thing we’re giving our energy to. It’s the only thing we’re giving our life to, this pain-and-suffering and the questions that ensue and swirl around it. And, so, when we invite God into that we certainly invite Him into it, but the idea is that He would fix it. What if He’s not gonna fix it? What if there’s more going on than we understand? What if all of our questions would only lead to bigger questions that we could never answer? What Job discovers is that he wanted God and he wanted a conversation but when he got into the presence of God he didn’t need that conversation anymore. And that’s hard. It’s really really hard to have that kind of perspective when suffering is upon us, but it’s not likely that we suffer the way Job suffered. And we watched the way that the story went. He…he met with tragedy. He met with morning and terrible suffering in his soul and body. He had questions. He talked to people, right? He got counseling. He was told all kinds of stuff he processed it all, but he still was in pursuit of God because, at least intuitively, he knew that the only person that could answer, the only person that could explain, the only person that held anything that he didn’t already know would be God. And, so, he sought God but then in God’s presence he realized he had only been operating on a working assumption. All of them had only been operating in a working assumption, like a theological framework about who God is and what God does. But in God’s presence, what Job and his friends thought they knew…well…all the conventional wisdom as it turned out, was incorrect. So, the thing for us to contemplate is Job’s response once he’s in God’s presence.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit we invite You into that. We’ve had all kinds of attitudes. You have seen and heard them all. You have listened to us flail around before You in Your presence all by ourselves. You’ve heard us talking about the things we’ve been suffering. We’ve acted like Job before. We’ve gotten all the counsel. We’ve listened all the answers. We’ve even dispensed the answers. We’ve been on both sides of the equation. And the book of Job, ancient as it is, is showing us that this rationale, this kind of way of doing things has been going on thousands and thousands and thousands of years and so we’re simply enmeshed in what we’ve always been doing is humanity, asking these questions. And we seek wisdom, and we seek answers but so often when we are faced with something that doesn’t have an adequate answer, at least to our liking, we start blaming, we start accusing. And it was the accuser. And the accuser in the story of Job is Satan. We have no desire whatsoever to be playing that role. Forgive us. There’s more going on than we know, and it is difficult for us to not have understanding and yet at that very point is where our faith begins. So, come Holy Spirit because we need Your comfort. We need Your guidance. We need Your direction. We need Your clarity. We need You. Come Holy Spirit we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Hello DAB family this is Anne from Arizona, and it is August the 27th. I am so encouraged to hear Gigi call in and talk about how she’s come to the realization that God brought her through these things, through Lyme disease, through all these things that she was going through and that He’s a good good father. Be encouraged. As Psalm 95 says oh come let us sing to the Lord. Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come into His presence with Thanksgiving. Let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise for the Lord is a great God and a great king above all gods. God is a good good father. God is great. God is worthy of our praise. He’s worthy of our trust. Be encouraged that God is good and that God sees you and hears you. I’m so encouraged, and it gives me so much hope just to hear those words of encouragement from Gigi. Be…

Hi Daily Audio Bible family I wanted to call in for two things today. One is to say thank you to Sparky. I’ve just listened to the Aug 27th podcast and just loved hearing Sparky’s encouragement of how God has changed his life, brought transformation, brought him to be doing a master’s degree when that was something that was just so seems so impossible in the past and how He’s brought new life and New Hope. Thank you for sharing that Sparky it really encouraged me, touched my heart and I just think you’ve got a really powerful story there of God’s goodness. So, bless you and I pray God’s blessing on your studies and God’s blessing on your marriage. And second thing I wanted to ask for is your prayers everyone as I am heading back to England. I’ve lived in the US for six years and really loved it. Over the past twelve months though I've…I’ve sensed God’s prompting to move back and so I am. So, next week I’m relocating back to England and as you can imagine there's…there’s always lots to do. There’s places to live and jobs to find church communities to become part of. So, we’d love your prayers for…for all of that process and for me to no God’s peace and God’s provision on the journey. And I’m excited that I’m going to continue to be part of the Daily Audio Bible family. So, I’ll be listening, I’ll be praying, and you’ll sometimes hear from me as well. But I’ll become Ben the Brit from Brighton instead of end the Brit…

Hi everyone, it’s Shana your sister from South Dakota. I just wanted to call and offer some encouragement to the dad from Duluth. You see, I was an IV drug addict, alcoholic, pothead, smoker relationship addict among other things, a liar, a cheat, a thief. I really ran my parents through the wringer for over a decade with my behaviors and being in and out of jail. And my mom even had all the jails within a certain distance of our hometown on speed dial. I’ve been in prison. I…with my last child didn’t tone down my partying and my using. Thank God he’s a healthy boy. He’s now almost 10 years old. But the Lord can heal. He can take away that compulsion to use and I know that without a doubt in my life today and I know it’s because of the prayers that came from those that loved me. I’m in school working on my bachelors in counseling. I have one year left. I have a pretty good GPA. I am married now. Crazy! I have relationships with all my children. And I was even given the gift of my parents before they passed away in this last year, some time with them seeing me living right. You and your daughter are in my prayers. It will be done. I believe that. Bye everybody.

Good hot day to you all. I was just listening to the August 27th version of the DAB, and I just wanted to give some shout outs. This is People on the Water from Indiana. First GG from gville my heart is jumping with joy. You said…you talked about the account found in the gospel where the paraplegic was brought by what was it three friends into Jesus so that he could be healed. It was the faith of the friends that brought the healing, that brought healing to the friend. And it was through Jesus that all of that happened. And honestly just your child, your baby, that’s your baby. I am so grateful that you see it that way. And the beautiful words that you’d spoken over us, it just sounded like poetry to me and that was just really encouraging. Dana from South Carolina, you’re a first-time caller and you’re praying for someone who is praying for someone. Like that’s just awesome and I’m just lifting up that prayer for that Lady who is in pain and for the lady who lost her son that God walks us through this. And then Mandy from Georgia just talking about how God uses our history, how God uses our history in order to deal with us in our future. I mean God uses our history. God uses our __ in our past to express love in unique and fun ways. And then Sarah from London finishes, “there is nothing too big for our God.” And I’m going to leave that with you. I love you all. And thank you for all that you are doing. In Jesus’ name I pray, and I ask. Amen.

Hey family this is Eyes of a Dove here. I just wanted to jump on and record a quick thank you message to all my friends on the DAB Facebook. The last 24 hours has been the most intense experience as a parent and coparent I think Billy and I have ever dealt with. Izzy went to youth group last night. She was in her mother’s custody and instead of attending youth group with my three children she grabbed another young girl who struggles with transgender stuff and the two of them hung out in Snoqualmie all over the town. But Izzy never came home to her mom. So, I queued in her mom that Izzy was missing, and we were unable to locate Izzy until this morning at 8:30 AM. We had the church leadership and pastor staff, we had the police officers and ourselves, all of us scouring the woods and all over the town. And in the morning, she contacted us with a real prideful condescending kind of irritation with us and when she finally made it home, she concocted quite a few lies that it was everyone else’s fault that no one was at the church to get her. It was her only option, and it wasn’t. So, any who…just asking you guys if you see this message, I’m sure it’s already happened but we’re heading over to the biological mom’s home. Just pray that I stay peaceful, and I button my mouth and allow those parents to do their parenting and help me to be a prayer intercessor for those two parents as they mitigate their rebellious daughter. And Father I ask that you would enter into Izzy’s heart father that she would come to know you and set aside the things of the world that trouble her and give her anxiety and cause her to be selfish Lord and help her to understand other people’s feelings and to make right and healthy choices. Thank you, friends for supporting us.

Job 37:1-39:30, 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:10, Psalm 44:9-26, Proverbs 22:13

Today is the 31st day of August, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible, I’m Brian, it is great to be here with you today, today and every day. But today cause that’s the day we’re in for starters, we can’t be in another day, currently. I suppose we could be listening to a different day but it wouldn’t be today and today is today and today is the 31st of August. And I hope I’m ready for all of this, this month ending and getting ready for a new month. I was shocked at how quickly August flew by but here we are, last day of August and we will be continuing our journey through the book of Job, we will be concluding the book of Job tomorrow as we begin a new month and so were getting down to it now. So, we are, just by way of reminder, in the middle of Elihu’s discourse. So, we’ve listened to Job converse with three of his friends, friends throughout this book. And then Elihu, he steps forward and starts talking and essentially says I’m younger and so I was letting the wisdom speak first but there’s not a lot of wisdom here and I have plenty to say and so it’s my turn and that’s what we’re listening to his Elihu offering just Job straight in his reasoning. And so, let’s get to it, we’re reading from the New International Version, Job 37, 38 and 39 today.

Commentary:

Okay, so we, we have to talk about Job today because Job got what he wanted. He wanted, he wanted to find God and he did and God has shown up. So, let’s just look back because tomorrow we will be finishing the book of Job, God will continue his discussion tomorrow as we reach our conclusion of this book, but, we remember when we began Job right at the very beginning, Job had a day like no other in which he lost everything, he lost his children to death, his livestock, his shepherds were attacked and killed in pillaged, the livestock was taken, generally everything that Job cared about was taken from him in a day and we watched Job as he’s getting the news and when the news is fully delivered, he stands up and tears his robe as an active, deep sorrow and pain-and-suffering, and he falls down and worships God. It’s a riveting scene. He has this posture of the Lord gave me everything I have. The Lord has taken it away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. It’s riveting. Job reaches a place where even his own life is like curse God and die. So, that’s how bad things have gotten for Job and yet Job doesn’t understand why. He doesn’t believe he’s done anything wrong and he does believe that the tragedy the things that have come upon him are at the hand of the Lord. Just thinking, I mean the bitterness that’s available in that when everything is destroyed and you don’t know why but instead of cursing God and dying right, instead of going into that bitterness Job uses his energy to hold onto his innocence, to hold onto his integrity, and so he will not speak ill of God in any way, will not sin in any way. He believes he is righteous and innocent before God and all of this and what is happening to him is not just or at least in any kind of way that he can understand it to be just. So, it’s not too long before some of his friends show up, three of them. They see him from afar and they see just how wasted away he is and they arrive and they sit down with him and they sit with him in silence for a week. This is called Shiva, sitting Shiva, this is sitting with someone in their grief, not there to fix it, not there to give them promised scriptures over and over, just to offer presence, to acknowledge the pain, to be there and it, to simply offer our presence, not our words, and that’s what they’re doing. They sit with them for a week until he starts talking, that’s what they’re waiting for. And, he starts talking and he discusses how he wishes he had never been born, how on the night he was conceived that that would’ve been just blacked out. How he would’ve just died when he was born, how he would not how to face this. And, then he begins to talk about his innocence and he begins to talk about finding God. And, his friends all respond. And, we read through all of that, they all respond. It’s all rational, it all makes sense. It’s all in defense of God because Job is essentially saying what God is doing to me isn’t just, I don’t understand it. I haven’t done anything wrong. They spend the bulk of the book trying to convince him that that’s not possible, that he has indeed somewhere somehow done something wrong and they eventually begin to go after him because of the things that he is saying, as if his pride is the issue. Actually, Job’s friends sound a whole lot like the kind of things that we say to people when we find them in suffering and it ends up to be a full-blown argument because Job gets mad that they keep trying to insinuate that somehow, he isn’t innocent and then they get mad because he’s insinuating that he is sinless and righteous and what is happening to him, this judgment that’s happening to him, is unjust. That’s not a grid that they can fit the equation into which is the point. When bad things happen to good people, it’s hard to find the answers. And, this book wrestles with that fact and in part it does a good job of showing us that we, with all of the wisdom that we have in all of our understanding of God, that we might think that we have and all of the things that we say to people, we really don’t fully understand what we’re talking about when we’re talking about the most high God. In fact, it’s not that we don’t kind of don’t fully understand, it’s that we barely have scratched the surface. We are talking about the most high God, Creator of all things far and away beyond our capacity in every respect. So, in the end, what Job wants is God. What he wants is an audience with God. He’s prepared his case. He believes that if God gave him answers, he would then have the answers that he’s looking for. He doesn’t want answers from his friends. He doesn’t want human answers. He feels like everything that his friends are telling him he already knows, he’s already analyzed all that, they’re not wiser than he is. They can only offer human wisdom, and he needs God. And then the last person Elihu, the younger one steps forward with his opinions which he offers and we’ve listened to those opinions over the last couple of days and then God shows up today, “Brace yourself like a man. I have some questions of my own. You’ve been asking a lot of questions. I have some questions and you’re going to answer them.” I mean come on, that would scare me to death. Even reading it, it’s like can you, I mean on the one hand, God, like how do you get your mind around that God has shown up in some sort of tangible, understandable way and is speaking overwhelming, but what He is speaking is very directly aimed at the fact that for all Job’s questions, God is about to reveal that Job nor his friends know pretty much anything about anything. And then God begins to ask these giant, God sized questions, which is what will what we been reading today. And will continue until tomorrow. Let’s remember that Job had a case prepared, he knew what he was going to say to God, he just didn’t know where to find God but he knew what he would say. And then God comes to Job. So, finally Job’s gonna get to say what he needed to say and we’ll listen to what that is, as we conclude the book of Job tomorrow.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word every bit of it, all of the stories, all of the people, all of the time the passes, all of the different changes in the world that we can see, as customs and clothing change but people don’t. So, as we move toward the conclusion of Job, we invite Your Holy Spirit fully and all of our questions and may we watch Job tomorrow and learn quite a bit. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer and Encouragements:

Hello dear saints, my name is Mercy. I’ve been listening to DAB for many years. I’m calling for prayer. I have nine children, they’re all grown, 22 grandchildren so far. What I’m calling for prayer for is that we had a crushing blow that rocked our family. I would mostly probably actually describe it as more like a train wreck. My husband of 43 years, who everyone thought was a model Christian became evident that he was a pedophile. He took advantage of some of our little ones which cause severe damage and shattered the face of some. Please pray, he’s in prison now. But please pray for the healing of hearts and souls in my children and my grandchildren. I’m doing well, I’m surrounded by a network of Godly friends and family who carry me but please pray for my children. When you pray, pray for Mercy’s Children. Thanks, DABers, love you.

Hey guys it’s Sparky from Texas. I’m gonna try and get through this these are happy tears. I was listening to Dr. John and Jen’s call here on the 26th and it just broke me down in tears hearing the praise reports. I know, I know not everything gets fixed and God doesn’t fix everything but it just, it’s mind blowing to me how God is still healing and still moving lives and I just, I’d like to pray a minute. Father we thank You for your grace and we thank You that You that you’re not gone, Your not dead Father. You’re reaching into these people’s lives, You’re reaching in my family’s life. And, Father, You’re so real and when I hear these praise reports Father, it’s just, it’s so much to take on just the joy and the grace and Your love. Father, be with those that you don’t decide to heal and let them know that that’s Your plan Father. Lord, I just thank you so much for Your grace. I thank you for everybody on this. Father, we just appreciate You, we love You and just stay with us, help those who need, help us to show those who need your faith. Father, we thank You so much for Your son, Christ, it’s in that son’s name we pray. Amen. Love you guys, I pray for everyone of you. Praise God for praise reports. Have a great day.

Hello, my Daily Audio Bible brothers and sisters, my DAB family. This is Yolanda. After listening virtually every day, sometimes twice a day and lifting up my DABers prayers since 2012 I am moved to call in for the first time. Today I come to you on behalf of my dear, dear friend Birdie. Birdie is a mother of a sweet toddler. She is 37 weeks pregnant and is quite suddenly suffering from COVID pneumonia with fluid around her heart. Her mother and husband are frantic with worry, and caring for their toddler, well, unable to be with her in hospital while she faces labor and delivery, possibly a C-section without them. DABers, please join me as I fervently left Birdie and her sweet baby up in my prayers asking for complete healing for her and a healthy vaginal delivery for her sweet baby. Lord, please give Birdie peace during this time of intense trial, intense pain and sickness. Lord, please give the doctors and nurses, the knowledge and medicine to bring her to full recovery. In Jesus holy and precious name, I pray. Amen.

Hi DAB family this is God’s Life Speaker. While I was praying with my husband this morning as were struggling with our 21-year-old and he, he is depressed. However, he is seeking help for praise God for that. It dawned on us that there’s been some judgment that we’ve put on, on him, that is not fair. That’s the judgment that we use against him, that will be used on us so, this morning we repented. As parents and children of God, and you know, it’s the self-evaluation; we want things and people in our lives to look better, look right, fix themselves, yet, are we examining ourselves? Are we walking in a manner worthy of our calling? Are we imitators of Christ? Are we the peacemakers? Because God sees and God hears, He knows our thoughts, He knows what’s going on. He knows our heart aches too and I feel, as someone who likes to speak God’s word out into the atmosphere and change it and bring glory to God, I can get pretty low about what I’m seeing in my kids. And it hurts because we want them to be glorifying God and working towards that perfection that He calls us to. Yet, they are in training, even if they’re 21, they’re still in training and we are the ones that need to set that example so we needed to do some repenting this morning, some encouraging each other and spiritual gifts right. So, I asked that we would do that all. I’m praying for each one of your children and grandchildren and us ourselves in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Hey, everyone I just thought I would ring in and update you on how I’m going. It’s Margo here, missionary in Liberia. I have made it back to Australia for, we’re back here for a few weeks for my son’s wedding which is amazing because Australia has some very strict rules around travel. And so, getting back into the country actually was quite a miracle and in fact, even leaving the country again is a miracle and we already have our permit to leave in a few weeks’ time to go back. So, I thank the Lord for His help and His hand has been upon us. And I want to thank everyone for their prayers. I rung in a few weeks or maybe a couple of months ago and I was in a really bad way. And, I have noticed that I’ve really picked up. And I have really felt His comfort and His peace much more in my life. All the things that are out of my control, I’ve been much more able to leave them in His hands. And I’m so, so grateful for His comfort. I’m so grateful for your prayers. It’s…I should have rung in sooner. So, we’re in Australia for a few weeks and then heading back and you know, continue to pray for us. It’s not an easy calling we have, mind you, no one has an easy calling. So, I’m just grateful for this community, grateful for the prayers that we pray all for each other. And, God bless you all. Love you. Bye.

Job 34:1-36:33, 2 Corinthians 4:1-12, Ps 44:1-8, Proverbs 22:10-12

Today is the 30th day of August welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I’m Brian it is wonderful to be here with you today as we keep moving forward, the next step forward together. And that will lead us into the New International Version, which is what we’re reading from this week and back into the book of Job. Today, Job chapters 34, 35, and 36.

Commentary:

Okay. So, proverbs today. “Drive out the mocker and out goes strife. Quarrels and insults are ended.” So, like, who wants to sign up for that - quarrels and insults are ended. That sounds fantastic, harmonious, even. Good, but the mocker has to be thrown out first. And so often our knee-jerk reaction can be something like, that could be okay. Gotta separate myself from the marker. I gotta get those people out of my life. I gotta diminish my interaction with those kind of people because quarrels…quarrels and insults will be ended and so will strife. What if we’re the mocker though? What if that’s us? What if we personalize the proverb instead of making it about everybody else. What if we take wisdom on board in our own hearts - drive out the mocker and out goes strife. Mocker…mocker here is person who elevates themselves over somebody else and then looks down on somebody with scorn or contempt. And that’s already in place in their heart before they even say a word. And, so, the things that come out of their mouth are quarrels and insults. And we probably can give ourselves a pass in some sort of way and go…well…that’s not talking about me because I don’t do that all the time. I just do that once in a while when I’m really mad. That…that would be true of everybody. Nobody is a mocker all the time, but we are definitely all capable of scorn and contempt. We are all capable of being a mocker and likely we have all been a mocker way too many times to admit. But if we’re personalizing this proverb, if we’re taking the wisdom and applying it to ourselves instead of everyone else then we realize we can’t bring the mocker to the conversation. In fact, the mocker needs to be driven of us because if it is then also what departs with the mocker is strife, quarrels and insults. And we all want that. So, the wisdom then is, don’t be the mocker. So often all we’re doing is exposing our own insecurities and our own issues and inserting them out of our own brokenness and then strife in quarrels and insults become inevitable. And, so, as we…I mean we are so preciously near the end of another month, that tomorrow is the last day of the month so this is a really really good opportune time to mark what’s being said in Proverbs, the wisdom being spoken to us because it’s inviting us to examine our own postures and our own actions and our own words and we can participate in diminishing and destroying strife, quarrels and insults by paying close attention to our posture of heart and not being the one full of contempt and scorn, not being the mocker.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, we…we’ve just acknowledged that we are all capable of this and we have all been guilty of this, but it’s never us all of the time. It’s just a place that we can go to that wreaks havoc and mayhem on everything around us. We’re acknowledging that that’s possible, that we have the potential to be the mocker, that we can instigate strife, quarrels and insults way more than we would be comfortable admitting, but we’re confessing. We’re all guilty. We all know what’s being said here. And we all like it when the light is being shined out from us on everybody else and everything else is being exposed, but when it’s a mirror and we have to look at ourselves in the face then we know we’re capable of all of this and we will not manage it without the presence of Your Holy Spirit to guide us. And that is always available but we are rarely as attentive as we should be and we get ourselves into all kinds of things that didn’t need to happen. So, come Holy Spirit. Help us to see what it looks like to drive the mocker out of ourselves because then strife goes along with it and quarrels and insults are ended. Even the quarrels and insults we hurl at ourselves inside of our own mind, those can be diminished and destroyed as well if we stop mocking what You made in us. Help us Lord we have plenty of work to do. Come Holy Spirit and lead the way, we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Today I want to pray for the woman who is having pain that’s running all over her body and she said that she has two angels in her life I think her friend Kathy or…and her son. Let’s pray. Our Father in heaven Lord please help this woman who has this awful pain that a lot of times we sit and ask, “God why?” And I think we’re asking that right now but what I do ask is that You would be…You would miraculously take this pain away and help her to endure. And either way, help her to put her faith in You Jesus. We don’t always understand our suffering, but You have said that all things work together for good for those who love You and those who are called to cling to Your purpose. So, I just ask that You would help her to ensure and put her faith and trust in You. And thank You for all that You’ve done. And help us all to put our faith and You through our trials and tribulations. In Jesus’ name I ask. Amen. We’re praying for you, and I just ask that this pain goes away.

Hello, my DAB family this is Jamie in New Jersey standing on the word of God. This is my first time calling. I’ve been a listener for over a year I guess maybe longer I’m not sure, but I’m really blessed by this community. I’m blessed by the prayers. I’m pressed by testimonies. I’m blessed to be a part of this family and today I come to you humbly asking for prayer for myself, asking for prayer about the…the life I’m living. I’m incredibly lonely. You know, I am in love with a…with a woman who, you know, just really doesn’t know what she wants out of life or what she wants out of our relationship, but I feel like God has called me to stand and to show her unconditional love and that’s what I’m trying to do but it seems like she just pulls further and further away. She comes back but then pulls away again Lord. And it’s painful, it’s painful. I have other things going on in my life as well. And I have a son who has autism…has autism and I worry about his future. He’s 22 years old now and I…and I thank God for all that he’s given and thus far but, you know, I still worry. I have a 19-year-old daughter as well who you know is a very good child but doesn’t get along with her mother and I pray for that relationship. But mostly I…I’m asking for your prayers to help me live the life that God wants me to live. Thank you all. I love you all. Thank you.

Hello DAB I just listened to the podcast of today and the prayer sessions at the end and I was really inspired by the lady who said sometimes you just have to forget about praying for yourself and, you know, praying for others. And I want to share with you only one of the stories that really inspired me to start praying for others. I have this friend, she…she’s just rooted in her faith, and she is a lot of time inspiration to me and there was this faithful period where she was hoping on getting a smartphone because the pastor at their church was sharing some devotionals online and she really needed to…to read them. And, so, she was praying for God to open those to actually get a smart phone. And when she got the smart phone, I think two weeks later when she got out from the taxi, she noticed she had forgot the phone in the taxi. And there was a lady who is sitting just close by and immediately she noticed she has lost her phone in the taxi. She said, thank you Jesus. And surprisingly the lady who was seated by Axta…what do you thanking Jesus for. I think you should instant say oh God help me. She said, no, it was God who gave the telephone and if God wants it back then it’s OK. 3 minutes later the taxi drove by…I mean left, dropped all the passengers and then came to her and said hey mam this is your phone. God works in mysterious way. Have a blessed day all.

Good morning this is Longing to be God’s Delight in Pennsylvania and this morning I am lifting up the people of Kabul to be rescued from the Taliban, a roaring lion seeking to devour them. And they need a miracle to be free and safe in…in totally nightmare conditions. I am praying for those in flooding like Tennessee that they could be lifted from the mire and rescued. I’m praying for God to quench the fires in the West in the US and Canada and also, I believe Greece and Turkey and possibly Albania, I’m not sure. I pray for Haiti suffering from the storms and the earthquake and the gangs. Lord we need a miracle. There is no way that humans…humankind can rescue from all of this. And I’m praying for Cindy suffering from RSD, that God would give her a miracle of healing, pour His living water into her to quench the fire of her nerves, that He would change the way her brain and the messages of her nerves in the way the brain perceives them so that the pain would end and only You Lord can affect this. I pray and lift up all these things to You this morning in Jesus’ name for your mercy, love, and kindness. Amen.

Good morning or good evening or good afternoon DAB family wherever you may be listening in from. This is Anne from Arizona. I would like to say that I am smiling after hearing doctor John call in on August the 26th to share miracle number two about his eye. And I’m also really grateful for Ashley calling in and thanking us for praying as a family for her dad. God is great and He is greatly to be praised. Let’s give thanks to Him. Let’s lift Him up. Let’s praise Him. Let’s shout of His goodness and of His mercy and of His wonderful works because He is good, because He is able, because He will not leave us without, because if we trust Him, He will work out everything according to His will. It is so wonderful to hear and to rejoice with others after standing in prayer for them. It is so encouraging for the body of believers. So, we continue to pray for all those that are looking to hear from God. We continue to stand and to intercede for the body. Thank you DAB family. May you be blessed and may you have a wonderful day. And don’t forget that God is working on your behalf. Amen.
