1 Samuel 12:1-13:23, John 7:1-29, Psalms 108:1-13, Proverbs 15:4

Today is the 12th day of May. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It’s great to be here with you as we get ready to close the books on another week. And we’ve covered some territory in this week, but to be sure, kings have been introduced into the culture of Israel as we move forward in that story. Of course, before that Samuel was born and grew up and came to prominence. And now we’re about to say goodbye. So, from the New International Version, which is what we’ve been reading this week, First Samuel chapter 12 and 13.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word. And even as we have moved through many dramatic stories in the Scriptures this week we recognize that we move through all of the dramas of our lives and every fork in the road we have a choice to walk with You or to walk away from You, which is what we see playing out in the Bible over and over and over and over through different people at different times wearing different clothes and different generations. And it’s our story. And as we continue to take this journey through the Bible it becomes more and more apparent where these roads lead, offering us the counsel that we need and the truth that we need. And, so, we thank You for Your word. And we invite Your Holy Spirit as we begin to end this week and prepare for the next week, we thank You for Your faithfulness, we thank You for Your mercy, and we look forward to all that You have in store for us in the coming days. Come, Holy Spirit. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Hi, this is Victoria S. Just calling to…I want to pray for hopeful…about her having kids. I just want to encourage you and let you know that you did the right thing in calling for prayer because, just like with Hannah, God had a special baby just for her and just for them. I want to pray with you my sister and I want you to be encouraged and continue to trust and lean to God. Gracious Father, we come before You today. Lord, we come for Hopeful. Oh Lord she’s hopeful because she knows that You are a God that can do anything but fail. She knows that You are God and that children come from above and that You are the great I Am. Lord, we are asking You Lord to bring her and her husband together and bring forth a child. Oh Lord in the name of Jesus let her not worry about her age. Oh Lord in the name of Jesus because it doesn’t matter about age. God is faithful. In the name of Jesus. Lord, You bless her with a beautiful, healthy baby. Oh Lord You know the sex and You know the reason. You know the purpose You have for her child Lord. You have a purpose of their child being great and doing something for the Lord. You bless that family Father in the name of Jesus. Lord, and I want to pray for sweet Naomi Lord. I want to pray that she’d be the little girl that You’re calling her to be. Oh Lord bless her mother in wanting to see her child grow up in the Lord and wanting to see Your hand on her life. Lord, in the name of Jesus, we ask You to touch all of the children Lord. We ask You to touch little Ezekiel and we ask You to touch the family of Brian and his wife. Lord, let Your hands be on their life. Let Your hands beyond our life Lord in the name of Jesus. You touch the DABbers Lord. You supply their needs. If it’s healing Lord You supply it in the mighty name of Jesus. And Lord, we’ll be ever so careful…

Good morning. This is Karina M. And I want to pray over my sister Naomi M. She was just rushed to the emergency room. They think she had a mild stroke but they’re running tests. Also, if you could pray over my family - covet, protect, and keep them financially and spiritually and lovingly. If you could pray over my family I’d greatly appreciate it. I love the Daily Audio Bible. You’re awesome. This is my first time call in and I thank God for Brian and Jill and your family and the Daily Audio Bible family as well. Thank you and I love you all.

Hey fellow DABbers. This is Redeemed Prodigal calling in. And a few people had mentioned how they were struggling with lust and just everything in that spectrum, not just men but also women. So, I just wanted to give you some encouragement cause this is something that I struggle with to. So, you’re not alone. I don’t know if you’ve heard of him but there was a preacher in the late 1800s, called Charles Bergen and one of his quotes was, ’a person is never so near to understanding and receiving God’s grace as they begin to feel as they can do nothing at all.’ I just want you guys to remember that and also to remember Romans 8:6-7. ‘Now the mind of the flesh is death both now and forever because it pursuits in peace and spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God both now and forever. The mind of the flesh with its sinful pursuits is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s laws. It cannot.’ So, yeah, just remember that and even if you guys mess up God still loves you. All right. See later guys.

Good morning Daily Audio Bible family. This is Alfi calling from Delaware. I just wanted to call this morning to encourage somebody, whether you are struggling, whether you’re going through depression, whether you’re feelings are __. There’s this poem that I came across that has been such an encouragement in my life and I hope that it can encourage somebody this morning. And it’s called ‘Our Deepest Fear’. ‘Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.’ That poem has really helped me through so many times when I’ve felt low and when I feel not worthy enough. I just know that I am a child of God and is every one of us in this family. You are a child of God and God has created you with so much positive purpose. And I want you to know today that this is for you. I love you Daily Audio Bible family. This is Alfi calling from Delaware. Make it a great day. Bye-bye.
