Job 12:1-15:35, 1 Corinthians 15:29-58, Psalms 39:1-13, Proverbs 21:30-31

Today’s the 24th day of August. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian and it’s great to be here with you as we…as we close the books on another one of our weeks together. And if I’m counting right, we are concluding our 33rd week of the year. So, obviously there are fewer weeks left in the year than we’ve already gone through, but there’s a lot left in our adventure as we continue forward through the Scriptures. So, we’ve been reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week, which is what we’ll do today, and we have been working our way into and through the book of Job, which is what we’ll do today as we continue listening to the dialogue that’s happening between Job and his friends. And today we’ll read Job chapters 12 through 15.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father for Your word. Thank You for another week, this 33 weeks we have journeyed together, seven days a week working our way through Your word and we are thankful for all that You’ve spoken. You’ve touched nearly everything about us in one way or another and You keep doing that, You keep coming for us, You keep being patient and frankly, we keep being dense. Sometimes You keep saying things over and over and over but we still struggle to live into those things. And, so, come Holy Spirit and let us get to the bed rock as Job did in today’s reading where he was able to say, “even if he kills me, I will still hope in Him.” Job had certainly learned that there is no other hope and yet we put our hope in all kinds of things that can’t deliver. And, so, we thank You for bringing us these 33 weeks into this year and we double down. Our hope is in You and You alone as we move forward. Come Holy Spirit we pray. In the mighty name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Hi, this is Jenna calling from the UK and I just listened to the podcast for the 17th of August, which was yesterday and at the end of it a lady by the name of Alisha called saying that she’s an alcoholic and she needs our prayers. And Alisha I lift you up in the name of Jesus and I know that He will make you strong. I ask Him to let you feel His love to fill the void in your life that has been taken up by alcohol and I just want to help pray for Alisha. I just want to leave something with you Alisha that, you know, our pastor said in church. He said, __ , what a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and grief to bear. What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer. Oh, what needs __ Father. Oh, what needless pain we bear all because we do not carry everything…everything to God in prayer. Alisha, I pray that you will bring everything to God in prayer and you leave it at His feet and the power of God will overcome…will overcome everything and that void, that alcoholic state can…will be filled with the love and power of God. God bless you. And God bless all our DAB family.

Hi this is Lisa I called in last week. I called in pretty frantically. Didn’t say really who I was or how long I’ve been with DAB. I’ve been listening since the first of this year and it is definitely changing my life and my walk with God. It is awesome to hear the word of God, it is awesome to listen to Brian explain the Scriptures. Anyway, I called in last week about my son. I didn’t even say his name. His name is Adam. I called in last week about him being hospitalized due to making statements of wanting to kill himself. Like I had said before, he battled depression in the past as a teenager. He did attempt suicide. He was hospitalized for that. I just want to thank anybody and everybody that has been praying for him. God is moving, but God is moving not only in, I believe in the situation with my son, but He’s moving in me, He’s delivering me, his wife is being delivered. His wife has rededicated her life to God and she is excited to start a new life with God and she has been connected with a group of Spirit filled women that have that is…that is guiding her and mentoring her. They live 2 ½ hours from where I live. We live here in Missouri. So, it…

This is Rosie in Oklahoma. I got on DAB Friends on August 9th this year to request prayer for my daughter who just got out of the hospital and I couldn’t find her. I contacted the police to file a missing-persons report and also got on DAB Friends and requested prayer. They found her the next morning and they had to rush her to the hospital because she was having problems breathing. First of all, I want to thank God for making sure that the police found her. She was in ICU for a few days. They moved her to a regular room, but she was still having problems breathing. Today they did a scope of her throat to see what was going on and found a mass. She is now back in ICU well they decide what to do about the mass. Please pray for total hearing for my daughter Jamie. It was difficult to me and her daughter to see her in this condition that we saw her in. Thank you. Love you guys. Bye.

Hi family, this is his little Cherry in Canada and Brian’s been reading from first Corinthians and how unique we are in the body and how we shouldn’t compare ourselves to each other. And this is one of my favorite subjects. And I just needed to call in and rant about it a little bit. I think I feel so strongly about this because I’ve been very insecure my whole life, but the thing about encountering the love of the Father is that He looks at you in a way that is so specific because no one else is you. Every…every one of us, every believer carries the DNA of love of Jesus Himself and that’s what we have in common, but He Himself is so big and beautiful that it would take a gazillion reflections of His image to paint His personality. And, so, each one of us is created one-of-a-kind and that’s why a million other Christians and tell Him He’s beautiful but His eyes keep turning in your direction and His for your feelings. That’s why your worship moves Him in a way nothing else can. It’s not just that you are unique, it’s that your relationship with Him is complete usually unique. You see a side of Him no one else will because you bring out the best in Him. Your shape, style, flavor of his best. And that’s why I need you so much. I need to see the way He loves you because that gives me a glimpse of Him I’ll never see otherwise. So, it’s not just your unique gift that makes you indispensable it’s the unique way He loves you, the unique way you light up His face when He looks at you and I want to see that. So, please stay connected to the body, stay authentic and love Jesus as only you can. I think that’s what I’m trying to say. Thanks family. Bye for now.
