1 Chronicles 4:5-5:17, Acts 25:1-27, Psalms 5:1-12, Proverbs 18:19

Today is the 7th day of July. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. It’s great to be here with you. And yeah, we’re stepping through the threshold of a brand-new week and today is also the Daily Audio Bible long walk so greetings to those of you who are out long walking and just letting God’s word come center you into your day. It is, of course, a pleasure and an honor to be here with you as we do this together and take the next step forward as we move through the Scriptures this year. So, we’re in a brand-new week. We’ll read from the New International Version this week and continue our journey that we’ve begun in first Chronicles. And by way of reminder, we’re reading the genealogies, the genealogical portion of the Bible that covers about nine chapters and we’re about halfway through that. And we mentioned when we started first Chronicles, these names matter. This is a part of the Bible that people usually complain about or glaze over on, but these people are writing down the family histories from exile. Their homeland, Israel, the promised land, they don’t live there anymore. It’s been conquered, and other people have been brought into live there, and the Hebrew people have been displaced, sent other places and they’re trying to just remember who they are. And in its own way, this is a bit of resistance because the empires that would conquer other peoples would displace those people, so they would forget who they are, so that their identity over generations would become only that of the Empire. So, in this case the Babylonian Empire. Their resisting that by trying to remember where they came from and who they are and who God is. And, so, we pick up with the genealogies. First Chronicles chapter 4 verse 5 through 5 verse 17.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word and we thank You for bringing us into this new week. And on this special day that we set aside to walk with You all over the world we’re walking with You right now and we thank You for Your presence among us, and we invite Your Holy Spirit, as we pour our hearts out to You that we also listen for Your Holy Spirit’s guidance in our lives. Even as we hear the proverb today, “a brother wronged is more unyielding than a fortified city and disputes are like the barred gates of a Citadel.” We know this to be true because we’ve had conflict in our lives, but maybe You are bringing to mind some of those walled cities that need to be approached and maybe some of those relationships can be restored because as we still ourselves and walk with You and pour out our hearts to You we see just how much anxiety and conflict that we are carrying around inside of ourselves every day. And, so, as we pour our hearts out to You and as You come and minister to us we’ll also have to leave this time and perhaps step into the story of restoration that we’ve been praying for for so long. Lead us through this day. Lead us deeper into our relationship with You, lead us into all truth, lead us on the narrow path that leads to life. Come Holy Spirit. We have no doubt that You actually will lead us. The question just becomes will we follow You? And isn’t this the question of every day of our lives? So, Holy Spirit come as we walk with You today we are following You. We need Your direction for where we are to head. And we ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Hey family this is Broken Tony from Oklahoma. Calling because there has been a great deal of addiction spoken about on the prayer line lately. Calling especially for Crystal who called on the 30th. Crystal __ too. I’m praying that Isaiah 9:2 as my prayer and as my claim. “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light and those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” It is my claim that we’re all walking out of the darkness. I love you family. This is broken Tony from Oklahoma. twhomes@gmail.com

Greetings from Vienna Austria this is William and Beatrice. Hello Daily Audio Bible community. My call is for a prayer request for a friend of ours in Hungary who is due to have a total hysterectomy on the 11th of July. And our prayer is that she is afraid that she’s going to lose out on having a child or a husband and our prayer is that whether she has a husband or not, whether she has a child or not that God is enough. And I ask that you pray this prayer with us today, that for our friend Eva God is enough in her life and that in every…

Good morning DAB family this is Julie and I’m calling to pray for Scott. I hear you Scott. You called this morning for prayer for intense anxiety and depression as well as some food related medical issues and financial stresses. Scott I am reaching out and praying, I’m praying to Father God. Father God, please heal Scott of his intense anxiety and depression. Let him run to You, listen in the quiet, have faith in the calm. Heal him, bring a sense of calm throughout his entire body. Heal him from that anxiety and depression we pray. And I pray as well that You work within Scott and help his worries and his financial stressors. I can totally relate when You say that things have just been coming out of nowhere and building up and that happens to all of us. And I pray for Scott for You that that be resolved and that You have a sense of calm in that regard. I pray for You this day and each and every person I reach out to that is facing any medical issues of any… And I’m praying for everyone with intense anxiety and depression, any financial stressors. Run to God, have faith, He’s there, He’ll listen. This I pray. Amen.

To have faith, Mark 11:23. This is the essential quality in the hearts of any believer who desires to communicate effectively with God. He must believe and search out the hands of faith to that which cannot be seen. Here is faith claiming and taking hold of its __ immeasurable inheritance. Moreover, when faith ceases to pray it ceases to live. Faith does the impossible because it lets God undertake for us. And nothing is impossible with God. How great without qualification the limitations of the power of faith. Mark 11:23. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain go throw yourself into the sea and does not doubt in his heart but believe that what he says will help him it will be done for him. Almighty God, I know that if I want to communicate with you effectively faith is the essential quality. Thank you that the impossible is possible with you. Amen. Bless you Daily Audio Bible family. Thank you, Brian for this wonderful podcast. Love you family of God. Bye for now.
