Today is the 10th day of June. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It’s wonderful to be here with you today at the threshold of a shiny, sparkly new week that we’re launching into. And, of course, we will be following the same stories that we followed into last week. Specifically, we’re following the story of King Solomon as we read through the book of first Kings and we are reading the story of the early church as we move our way through Acts. And this week we’ll read from the Good News translation and pick up where we left off yesterday, 1 Kings chapter 7 today.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for this brand-new week that we are stepping into, in community, in Your word. And we ask, Holy Spirit, that You will come, dwell among us all over the world, lead and guide our steps as we take steps into this new week. And Father, even as we here of the building of the temple in King Solomon’s ear, as we read first Kings, and then we hear the story being told back to us through the testimony of Stephen in the book of acts, we see that these stories have been told and told and told over the generations, and continue to be told until today. And we find ourselves in the hearts and postures and motivations of those who have gone before us, providing us with examples of which way to walk and which way not to walk. So, come Holy Spirit, lead us into all truth and guide us in our steps, we pray. In Jesus’ name we ask. Amen.

I’m a long-time listener but I don’t call in too often but I listen every day and I love hearing all of your voices, especially all the people who are calling in who have never called in before. Just wonderful to hear all of you new listeners. Thank you for calling in. I have a special prayer request. I’ve often ask you to pray for a girl named Mel who is my appointee. And I’ve been with Mel since she’s seven years old and she’s now 18 ½. As I’m feeling like it might be time for me to step down in that official capacity as her advocate. So, if you could pray for that. Please Lord, sometimes I have a hard time stepping down when it’s time because I get attached to these kids but I’m feeling like she doesn’t need me that much anymore. She’s got a life coach. She’s had a social worker. She has a lot of family members who’ve come into her life now. So, I’m just kind of conflicted about that. And also, I wanted to give some shout outs to some of my Facebook friends on DAB. I love our Facebook page. Lisa the Encourager. Ezra, I’m praying for your little Ezra. Sophie from Oregon I hope you’re feeling better and that you have some relaxation time now that your son and husband are visiting his parents. My beautiful family. This is Pastor Gene from Bradenton Florida. After spending the last few days crying and suffering, actually the last few weeks, the Lord, the Lord is so good, the Lord shapes our perspective and it’s not that we no longer have trouble. It’s that, when we climb on His lap we can see problems from His perspective. And, so, please join me in prayer family as I pray. Dear Lord Jesus, I want to lift up my beautiful boss. And when I see beautiful, I mean it. She’s beautiful. You created her beautiful and perfect. And right now she’s powerless. She doesn’t know You. But I believe that it’s not going to stay that way. I am committed to pray and praying and interceding until I see her embrace Your faith. In the name of the Lord Jesus, help me be an instrument of Your grace and glory. Help me be a shining testimony of what Christ would look like in the workplace. Father, I lift up my sister Cherry Chase’s supervisors. I lift up the bosses of anybody right now, that’s going through a friction, that is going through tribulation. Oh God, the Bible says in Romans that they are powerless, that without You oh God they are puppets of the enemy. And our struggle is really not against them but against the enemy of our soul. So, we pray. We intercede. We call upon Your name to have mercy on them, to put the will in the want and the desire and the hunger and the thirst so that they will be drawn to You oh God and that they will find the treasure that we have found in You. And help us to be merciful and kind and understanding and yet forgiving. Help us to be a light for each one of them. Help us to overcome with love and kindness. I pray all this in Jesus’ mighty name. Hi there DAB family. This is Abel. Well, I do know, I’ve listening now since pretty much day one. It’s gotta be 10-11 years now. Person we hired, someone I was working with __. So, I had a pretty lucky heads up. But I’m a first-time caller and also a longtime pray-er. And anyway, I was listening to May 29th and I had to call in about redeemed prodigal and to let you know how deep your words spoke to me and I’m certain so many. Even in our brokenness if our little hearts can love Him so much, how much more does He love us? Anyhow, I just had to let you know that your words did touch me deeply and thank you very much. DABbers, this is Slave of Jesus. I am not in North Carolina. I am overseas. So, if you guys could definitely be praying for me and my family. I don’t know how all this is coming across because of dialing. I may not be calling in for many months but I will definitely be listening to the podcast and the prayer requests and still praying for you guys every chance I get. God kind of put it on my heart today. Have a neat little tool. So, I’m getting ready to leave this hotel and of in a foreign country and I’m going to leave a good tip for the people who’ve been cleaning my room and I’m also going to leave a Daily Audio Bible card. These are all ones…a lot of times when you order stuff they send you a pack of cards. And, so, this might be the only chance these people have to see Christ. You know, I don’t know if I’ve seen any of them, they’ve been pretty busy. But they just happen to log onto this site and see that there’s the DAB in their language and who knows? So, if you guys can just be praying for whoever reads this card and if you guys find yourself in that situation with some of these cards and you’re going to give a big tip to somebody, maybe put this in there as something…get them interested for maybe wondering why I gave them a big tip cause it’s definitely God’s Spirit that was telling me to do it. Good morning DABbers I hope you can hear me. I’m on my way to work this morning. This is Walta the Burning Bush that will not be Devoured for the Glory of Our God and King. Today, is Thursday, sometime in the first week of June and I heard a prayer request this morning from a woman of God __ for marriage and her husband is retired and it sounds like there’s a lot of verbal…something going on. And I just want you to know as soon as I heard your prayer I prayed for you. I prayed that God will deliver you from any kind of potential addiction to alcohol. I pray that God will provide you the support you need. And I prayed for help for your husband that God will reveal for him what’s wrong in the marriage and give him a desire to fix it. And until then I pray that God will give you wisdom to stand strong and to find the support that you need. There’s also another single mom who called and I don’t remember her name but praying for you to. I’ve been a single mom before and I feel your pain and I pray that God will just strengthen you and give you…remind you of your first love who is Christ and that God will just bring in people to hold you up in this time of your life and just support for your kids. And I just believe God’s got you. But what I want to share with your family before I leave is this, whatever you focus on you empower that thing to have complete control over your thoughts, your actions, your will. And, so, focus on He who has done the work __. Stay focused and see that. I love you all and I’ll talk to you soon. Bye
