Genesis 41:17-42:17, Matthew 13:24-46, Psalms 18:1-15, Proverbs 4:1-6

Today is the 20th day of January. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is great to be here with you as we close another week down on our journey through the Bible this year. And this week we’ve read from the New Living translation, which is what we will do today. And we’ll pick up with the story of Joseph, who is now standing in front of Pharaoh, who has had a couple of strange dreams. Genesis chapter 41 verses 17 to 42 today.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for another week in Your word. And we have, as we look back at just these few weeks that we’ve been journeying through the Scriptures this year, we see so much as happened in the Bible, and so much as exploded inside of us for us to consider and think about. We can see You shaping us. We can see You guiding and leading us. We find ourselves in the story of Joseph. And we look at his faithfulness and his allegiance and devotion and loyalty and faithfulness to You in this spite of it all. In spite of everything that’s happening around him, somehow his connection with the You remains untouched. And Holy Spirit, we long for that. And so, come, continue to plant seeds in our lives, continue to cultivate the fruit of the spirit within us, continue to transform us as we surrender to You. Come, Holy Spirit. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Hello Daily Audio Bible friends and family. This is Sarah, Building My Faith, in Connecticut. And, yes, I’m still with you and I, too, have been praying along with everyone. I’m so moved. And I think about so many of you and I want to hear from Christie in Kentucky and Victoria S. and Redeemed In Him, I’ve missed your voices. I’m calling on behalf of myself, actually. I need some prayer. I have a legal trial coming up where I have to testify as an expert witness and I have been feeling so stressed out about this because I care so deeply about this patient that I’ve been working with for four years. And I’m testifying as his treater. And the work I have done with him has been so deeply spiritual because he is a very strong Christian. And I’ve been his partner in healing. And so much of what we’ve done has been using his connection with Christ as a way of coping with chronic pain from a very traumatic accident. And, yet, on the stand, I have to testify as a medical professional. I have to use the diagnostic language. I have to keep the God and spiritual aspects out of it. And also, my tendency to go on and on and speak to long, that I need to be very clear and concise. The other part that’s been very anxious making for me is that they won’t let me know when I’m going to be called to testify. It could be anytime from January 23rd

Hi family. This is Purely Pampered of Maine. I’m calling in for our older prayer requests. There is a woman who called a long time ago, you called yourself Leah, you had five children and felt unloved by your husband who was talking divorce. I don’t know what’s changed since then and I don’t know how best to pray for you. So, I pray his heart has seen the gift you are in his life. I’m praying that the Holy Spirit is being received in your situation. Edgar’s wife from Mexico, you called because your husband was kidnapped and you hadn’t heard from him. I’m still praying for you. Yours is a trauma that very few of us will ever experience and I continue to pray for healing, regardless of what has transpired since you called. Bill B., the missionary in Uganda, you had to return to the US for health reasons. I’m lifting you up and your boys in the orphanage that you loved so well. So much they must’ve grown by now. I’m asking for the Lord’s continued provision for them and for you. Let’s pray. Oh, Creator and Sustainer of all, I lift up each of these brothers and sisters and their situations to You. I pray for healing, for restoration, and for Your supernatural peace that goes deeper than their painful situations and brings them hope beyond their circumstances. Thank You Lord for hearing our prayers. Amen. I love you family. Bye for now.

Good morning and happy new year to my precious DAB family. I have now…this is Carla Jean from Southern Nevada. I have now fully listened to a full year of the DAB and I am so blessed to be part of this community. I’m reading this morning, I’m about a week behind because last week I had some abdominal surgery, and so I’m kind of…I’m finally coming out of my fog. So, today I read from the 9th, where Abraham withheld nothing from his heavenly Father. And I’m thinking about what do I withhold from God. My prayer request is this. I have three adult children, one of whom eloped last summer and has no relationship with our family anymore. We did try to make Christmas possible by bringing everything to them to have Christmas at their home. And we haven’t heard from them since. So, I’m praying for her, her daughter, her husband. I also pray for my second son, who has moved to California to pursue his California dream of acting. We don’t hear from him very often and, although I’m very concerned about him, I did learn in the reading today, I just need to turn that over, God is going to put a ram in the thicket for our son, Noah. I’ve been listening to the prayer requests and I just want to say Amen to all of you who have told us to donate to the DAB. I have been donating for a year now, a dollar a day, and this year I hope I can increase that, and I would challenge all of us to do the same. I love you my brothers and sisters. I’m praying for you. Joyce in California, I’m thankful that your family was reunited. Eunice, it’s not a coincidence that your prayer request…

Hi Sophie. I just heard your comment and I just wanted to say, keep going. Things will get better. You saying you have major anxiety, major depression. For myself, I went through that too, you know, it was really, really, really hard. Every day is like a fight, it’s a battle, it’s a challenge. But one thing, once I got to the other side what I really saw was the Scripture that God works all things for the good of those who love Him and to those who have been called to His purpose. You will see that too. God’s on your side. He’s fighting. Keep going strong. All right. Take care. Bye.

Hi __ . I will bless the Lord with all my soul and all that is within me and forget not His benefits. Awake, awake, awake my soul. Most precious holy Father Lord, most high. It’s not ___ a fire Lord or like a hammer that breaks the rocks in pieces. In the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth I pray, Holy Father for thy people in mind body and spirit. Oh, love of God in the name of Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant into the blood of sprinkling that speak of better things ___. Through thy righteousness we have hope Father, not of ourselves but in the. And the prayer of faith shall fade the __ Lord. And the Lord shall raise Him up and the Lord shall heal Him and if he has committed sins they shall be forgiven. Oh, most gracious Holy One, we give you the glory the honor in the praise, for Thou art our shield and our buckler, our strength in the present help of time of trouble, for we all come by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony and live not our lives into the death. Lord, at Thy presence for Your majesty and Your glory and forever more. I pray we have mercy and __ in the name of Jesus. Oh, You reign on high over all the earth and sit on the throne of glory and shall never leave or forsake us even to the end of time. Glory, glory, to the Lord.

All glory and praise to our Lord our Savior for Brian and his family, for everyone working behind the scenes in their families, and for this community. This is Bay from Canada and I’m calling in for Lisa the Encourager. Lisa, I have been praying for you since January 8th. Today’s the 12th…yesterday’s the 12th. But I’ve been thinking about you. You keep resurfacing on my mind. And on a recent podcast I heard your prayer request, requesting prayer for your husband. So, family, please pray with me. Father God, Lord Almighty, as the dabblers stand in agreement with me, I pray for my sister Lisa that You will continue to fine-tune her gift of encouragement and to encourage her heart in a special way, that she continue to encourage others. Lord, I ask that You protect her and her family and to provide for them, specifically for Jack, as he seeks employment. Help him during this time of unemployment to get some well needed R&R to prepare him for the journey ahead and to find ways to hone all the skills that he will need for the job that You will provide for him. Enable Lisa and Jack to stay focused on You Lord and to trust You every step of the way for guidance and wisdom. Blanket them with Your love and grace Lord God. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Thank you for praying with me family. And, until next time, keep smiling.
