So, we’ve been using that app that we built, the Daily Audio Bible app for years now. And fixing it, and tweaking it and repairing it, and improving it, and correcting it, but it’s always been a bit of a challenge for us to chase down all the different experiences on all of the different phones throughout all of the earth, on all of the different cellular networks, all the different wi-fis. It’s been really, really, really challenging thing. And a few years ago, kinda during the COVID season. COVID was happening and everybody was isolated and we’re the Global Campfire and so, we’re doing what we do every day, we’re being there for each other through COVID. And that’s a beautiful thing but behind the scenes we’re watching everything being taxed, the system being taxed. Looking at where we wanted to be, where we want to go. How we want to build a sense of community into that application so that it’s more than just a place to go to listen to the Bible, that it’s actually a place of connection, because that’s what we as humans need, connection. We long for it. We look for it. We fight for it. We fight over it. Connection to each other and what we’re really looking for is stable, safe connection to other people that can embellish our lives and love us, and that we can give love in a pure and true vulnerable way back. So, we’ve built things over the years, like the Prayer Wall for places like this, but we’ve also watched what social media can be an just how, just how kind and generous people can be and how dark and evil people can be. And how do we create, how do we create something that can be pure and good and just stay pure and good. That was one of the questions about starting the Daily Audio Bible itself. After a year into this, I saw that something was happening here and I felt like it was pure and innocent, and true, and that the community that was coming around the Scriptures was broken people looking for connection with other people in a safe way. We feel like we’re not alone. We’re connected to God and God connects us to each other.

Okay, so, I said at the beginning, hang out to the end. I want to tell a story and I do, and it’s and it’s a story of a couple years. And so, I’ve been kind of formulating how…how to do it without taking a very, very, very long time. And it’s a conversation about the technology that we use to be the Global Campfire, to be the Daily Audio Bible every day. And that obviously comes, well, to some of you through podcast readers and catchers and all of that kind of stuff. And for most of us, that is the Daily Audio Bible app. That has been and has been growing to be kind of our portal of connection to each other. And that’s something that we built many years ago. It's…it’s funny because the Daily Audio Bible began before there was this…this surge in the world called social media. Before all of that, we started this Global Campfire. So social media exploded around us and now it’s ubiquitous, it’s like everywhere and most everybody uses it. Jill and I use it almost never anymore because it can be such a toxic place. But that came about, and the Daily Audio Bible kind of grew up with that. And then iPhones, like smart phones came out and all of the sudden the…the technology was portable and was available to phones and then apps for phones started to be developed to create little tools for productivity in our lives and ways to keep us more connected. And we have more ways to be connected than we ever have in the world, but we still find ourselves in isolation a lot of the time because of this technology. And there came a point where we started to build a Daily Audio Bible app, and we had a version of that and then to really create a more communal experience, we felt like we had to build from the ground up. Something that would serve us, not really knowing what we were doing. And…and the app world, not really being fully fleshed out with standards and it was just a really kind of crazy time. Even though we’re just talking about the time of the last decade. A lot has happened technologically in the world. That’s just really changed the face of our understanding of humanity and ourselves so much is happening in the world today.

But we know Peter’s story is a story of redemption. We’ve watched him be completely transformed when the Holy Spirit came upon him in the book of Acts. We remember like his lowest moment when he denied Jesus three times in the courtyard of the high priest, and we followed him all the way the upper room and his ministry, throughout the book of Acts. And we get to know a bit of the boldness of Peter which we will certainly find in…in these letters. And in this letter, it says it’s written to God’s chosen people who are living as foreigners in the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia. These are five provinces of the Roman Empire. Now, they’re all located within modern-day Turkey, but they were all part of the Roman Empire. And Peter used the term God’s chosen people who are living as foreigners because this would’ve been well understood in the Jewish culture. Those living as foreigners or those who had been dispersed or exiled, were those who had been scattered over the world in the different exiles. And more recently at this time, religious persecution against followers of Jesus had dispersed many. And we’re gonna find that Peter is as direct has James. Peter speaks forthrightly and directly, but it’s not condemnation. It's…it’s encouragement, it’s meant to be direct and bolster and lift up people who are suffering hardship and are giving up. That’s a lot of us. To remind us that there is a hope for those who endure. And so, if we’re still kind of like brushing off from James. If we got a good kick in the pants from James, we’re about to get a second helping of that kick in the pants from Peter. So, well, let’s begin. First Peter chapter 1 verses 1 through 12.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word. We thank You for another day, another step-in community in the Scriptures. We thank You for this new territory that we are moving into in the letter of first Peter. Holy Spirit come, as we move through these letters. Speak clearly into our lives, into the things that we do, into the postures of our hearts, into the motivations of our wills. May they conform to Yours and may we surrender to Your guidance, we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Ezekiel 44:1-45:12, 1 Peter 1:1-12, Psalm 119:17-32, Proverbs 28:8-10

Today is the 22nd day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It’s great to be here with you today as we continue the journey, continue taking steps forward, every step will be made before the end of this year, and we will complete the Bible. And there’s not too many days left, but we’re not there yet. And there’s plenty, plenty that the Lord would like to speak into our lives before we reach the conclusion of this year. And so, let’s take that next step forward and hang out, hang out till the end today. I have a story to tell, a long story of the last couple of years and some future plans and where we’re, where we’re going in the coming year. So, hang out for that at the end but we’re at the beginning. Let’s dive in, today, Ezekiel chapter 44 verse 1 through 45 verse 12.

Introduction to First Peter:

Okay, so, we finished the book of James yesterday, that brings us another step closer to the end of the New Testament. And that brings us to become reunited with an old friend, the apostle Peter. We met, well, we met Peter in the Gospels and we’ve gotten to know him through the book of Acts. We’ve kind of seen his personality and some of these other depictions of who he is. We’re now at his letters. So, getting to know his voice in written form. The first letter is known as First Peter. And so, Peters name Simon or Simeon was his given name but by the time he became part of Jesus disciples, Jesus had given him the name Cephas. And in Aramaic that means rock. And when Aramaic is translated into Greek of the New Testament, the word is Petros. And then we can see how Peter and Petros have their connections in the English translation Peter.

Ezekiel 40:28-41:26, James 4:1-17, Psalm 118:19-29, Proverbs 28:3-5

Today is the 20th day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian, it is wonderful to be here with you today, like every day. It’s great to be gathered together around the Global Campfire, everybody has a place, we’re all cozy together. It’s a safe oasis for us to simply allow the Scriptures to come into our lives. So, let’s do exactly that and focus our heart and attention on God’s word. We’re reading from the New Living Translation this week and continuing our journey through the book of Ezekiel, today chapters 40 verse 28 through 41 verse 26.

Commentary:

Okay, so, James is doing what James does in giving us a nice quick kick in the pants today on our relationships. He asked this question today. And it really should perk all of our attention because we kind of all want to know. The question is, what is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Right, we want to know the answer to that. What is it that is bringing tension into a relationship that erupts into a conflict. But then James leads us to consider that maybe it’s not the other person. He says, don’t those conflicts come from the evil desires at war with in you? In other words, before it ever becomes a conflict with another person, there’s already something going on within ourselves. That’s putting a mirror up in front of us; that snaps things into perspective. And he goes on to explain that these conflicts, they happen inside of us, because we have desires that we think we’re entitled to. We’re not getting what we think we deserve in some way, and we perceive that maybe somebody else is. And so, conflict and attempts to take things by force cause quarrels and fights among us. And we find that we’re lacking, or that we perceive that we’re lacking in our lives, and then we try to balance the scales because we’re in competition with everybody else. So, we try to force our will upon other people. We’re absolutely not going to get anywhere. We’re not going to get fulfillment. We’re looking in the wrong place. And James says it like this, you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong. You want only what will give you pleasure. James is trying to drill down; he’s trying to get down to the base of it all. And he tells us: don’t you realize that your friendship with the world, makes you an enemy of God. If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. So, let’s just kind of reverse this out a little bit and think about it. If we’re going to use the system of the world to gain identity and to compete with one another to try to do better or worse or to be worshiped because we can throw ourselves into some kind of spotlight. If we’re gonna use this system, we’re not in the kingdom of God operating the way that the kingdom of God works. We’re making ourselves an enemy of God. I’m just like standing here thinking about this as we’re talking about it. And I’m like man, I don’t, I don’t want to be at odds with God, like at all, for any reason, at all. That’s a big deal, to make yourself an enemy of God. Who’s gonna win that one? So, this sense of lack and this sense of competition and this sense of identity and all these things that we jostle around and have quarrels and fights among us. If we just be honest and think about it. We’re saying, God’s not coming through and we deserve more. We are entitled to more than we have, God isn’t enough and so, we look outside the relationship to get what we need. We’re gonna go get our needs met outside the relationship. That’s not gonna work in my house, and I don’t think that’s gonna work in your house either. And so, that shouldn’t work in our relationship with God. And so, James, sums up what he saying to us today with very famous passage of Scripture that kind of ties this all together for us. Here’s what you do: humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come close to God and God will come close to you. Wash your hand, you sinners, purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done, let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will lift you up in honor.

Prayer:

And so, Father, that’s where we find ourselves in this posture of humility, with head bowed. Seeing ourselves for who we are and what we’ve done. We tell ourselves the story of ourselves, and we lie to ourselves all of the time, and we have to face the implications of what we do and the impact that it has on people. We realize that our lives matter because it’s having impact. And it’s not always having the kind of impact that would be anything like Your kingdom. It’s all about our own kingdom. It’s all about our own desires and wants and what we’re gonna take and what we’re entitled to. We’ve been invited by James today to humble ourselves and so, here we are, resisting the urge to be entitled to something that we’re gonna take. We humble ourselves before You and come close to You. You are the only source of life. The only place of meaning. The only opportunity for fulfillment. Come, Holy Spirit, we humble ourselves before You. Forgive us, lead us into the truth we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

So, our daughter China and my wife Jill, they head up Daily Audio Bible Chronological, on the Chronological Channel. But China has had her daughter, her second daughter, and her name is Finley, Finley Beck Brave and she was born on 21st of October. A whopping nine and a, well 9 lbs. 2 oz. and she is the current joy of our lives. Prayer and Encouragements:

Hi, Daily Audio Family, Daily Audio Bible Family that is. Thank you for your prayers. I wanna have a, give a praise for my son Mitchell. This is Brian in Huber Heights, Ohio. When I went to visit him, he brought his Bible out and he was reading it to me. And he’s been reading his Bible and seeking God. I just wanna ask a prayer request for him. They’re having trouble releasing him because his behavior in the past has been so, so horribly bad that he’s gotten kicked out of several rehabs and really, he’s burned a lot of the bridges that can help him. I just pray that and ask you to pray that he gets the right case management, the right case manager. Goes to the right rehab and has housing, that he would not be homeless anymore. Also, wanna continue to ask prayer for my ex-wife Kathy and I, that God would heal our lives and bring us together and reconcile us. And for my other two children, Matt and Ashley, that they would start seeking God and find a church and seek God with their lives. Bless Ashley with a healthy baby, my first grandchild. I have so much to be thankful for. Praise You, God. And I really thank Brian Hardin for this ministry, it is wonderful, it is a life changer. And I tell everybody I know about it. And I do pray for everyone here on this and on the Prayer Wall. Thank you very much. God bless.

Salutations, my DAB family. It’s His Little Songbird from Alberta, Canada. And I’m gonna address a few, a few prayer requests today. Sheena from Saskatchewan, in two weeks you go to court. I’m praying for both you and for my, for grace and for mercy and for God’s will to be done. Kingdom Seeker Daniel and Sam from Seattle, you also have court about the same time. I will be holding you all up in prayer as well. From Junk to Treasure, your son, sounds like he’s losing his job and his cars been sabotaged. One daughter fighting with her husband. Another daughter has a grand, or as a child that is having to go into the hospital with seizures. Father God, we just, I wanna lift up this entire family to You, Lord. I ask for a hedge of protection around them and for the blood of Jesus to be covering each and every member of the family, right down to the children, Lord. I’m asking for Your protection from Satan’s darts and from his evil schemes. And Lord, I’m asking that all assignments against the family, From Junk to Treasure, from her, all the way down to the end, Lord, I’m asking Lord, that the assaults of the enemy and the assignments of the enemy will be cancelled. That’s it. Done. Lord, I ask that You give this family Your strength, Your courage, Your determination, and Your will. Father, I ask that You shine Your face upon them, Lord, and I ask for Your favor on each and every member of her family. And I thank You so much for this, Lord. Amen.

Precious brothers and sisters across this globe, my name is Linda, in Wilsonville, Oregon. And I’m calling to ask that you will lift my 44-year-old daughter in prayer for a miracle. She has been newly diagnosed with a stage 4, triple negative breast cancer that has now affected her spine, her liver and her lungs. She’s in sever pain in her lower extremities. She has been treated for a different diagnosis for a year and a half, along with her daddy, who we lost in April. And she is now enduring this tragedy of cancer. She has two young children, a loving husband. She’s very strong and doing everything she can: dietary, wholistic and conventional interventions. She needs a miracle of healing and I know our sovereign God is capable of that. Please, pray with us for that miracle. I thank you with all my heart.

Good morning Daily Audio Bible. This is Brian from Huber Heights, thanking everybody for all your prayers for my son Mitchell. He is, they are considering releasing him from the mental hospital. I want that to be the right time and with all the things set up for him to go to rehab and having housing. Also, my other two children, Matt and Ashley, Lord, for all three of my children’s salvation. For my ex-wife Kathy and I to reconcile. I have, something I do want to ask for prayer about. I’m going to have a CAT scan tomorrow, which will be Friday, the 17th, to find out whether I have any issues in my lungs. I was exposed to asbestos in a job I was at for 23 years. Praying that the test will all come back negative. And I do wanna say one thing, one thing comes to mind when I listen to the Daily Audio Bible and it’s a verse from Acts, Acts 18:9-10. When it was speaking to Paul about him being afraid to go someplace. One night, the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision, do not stop speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you. No one will attack and harm you because I have many people in this city. There’s many, God has many people on the Daily Audio Bible, and I thank Brian Hardin and his family and all that makes this possible. It’s a real life-changer. God bless everyone and thank you.

Prayer and Encouragements:

Hello, I’m calling, excuse me, to pray for Courtney, who called in today on November 13th. And she has been diagnosed with ALS in April. She has three children, and she knows that she is a child of God. But she is praying for more time with her children from the diagnosis of two to five years with ALS. I just want you to know Courtney, my sister, that I will be praying for you and that your faith is amazing. And it’s touched me so deeply to hear how much you believe. And that you know that God will take care of your children. I just pray for you and ask God to heal you with His mighty hands, which we know He can do. And I just wanted to thank you for calling in, asking for prayer. And know that I will be praying for you, Courtney. Thank you for calling and showing us your faith in Jesus.

Hey guys, long time, first time. This is Serene Ghost. Calling in tonight because I need some heavy-duty prayer backup. The short version is my wife is a alcoholic in recovery but she is in a dry drunk phase. For those of you who are familiar, you know what I’m talking about. And her and I have been in marriage counseling for the last few months and during that time she has had I guess, two affairs. I don’t know what to call them. Thank God no sex was involved but one of was a little physical and I just found out tonight that there was, that there’s a third one. I caught her in a lie. She was in another state at some guy’s house. I love my wife and as much as my heart is broken, I forgive her. And I would just ask that you guys pray for her because she’s very broken and very sick and very lost right now. Somewhere in there is my sweet wife. We have our next counseling meeting tomorrow. I’m only getting a few hours of sleep tonight. But if you could join me in prayer for her. Father, I ask for Your protection for my wife. I pray that You surround her with hedge of thorns, that she be kept sacred and held apart from anything and anyone who would try to come between You and her, as well as her and I. That she be kept safe from the enemies lies and temptations. That You would show her where true value comes from. That she is deeply loved by her heavenly Father and devoted husband. In Jesus name.

Hello DAB family and blessings to the Hardin Family. I am calling today for Cory from Colorado who received an ALS diagnosis. And I wanted you to know, Cory, that I am standing with you and so many others are. And it is privilege to be able to do it because I know that God is going to meet every single need that you have. He is Jehovah Raffa. He is our peace. He’s Jehovah Shalom. He is Jehovah Jira and He is so gracious and so loving and so merciful, that I have no doubt in my mind that miracles, signs and wonders are gonna follow you. That you’re gonna have supernatural favor with whoever needs to provide service to you during this time. I also believe that God, as you stated, He’s gonna allow you to see your kids grow up. And I just, I believe that for you and ask for that from the Lord. I ask also that the confidence that you have in Him will grow throughout this time. You stated that you know where you’re going and that just, when I heard that it just really refreshed me as I walk through the things that I’m walking through. Because you know, to know that end, always gives us encouragement, it actually increases our faith as we walk with the Lord through our momentary trials and tribulations. However, I do wanna let you know that on those moments, where it’s moment by moment, with our faith walk and emotions are filling when they come, that you have an army of people that are praying for you. And you have a lady in Georgia who, you just captured my heart. And actually the entire DAB family has. So, I just speak life unto you. I speak healing.

Today’s November 14th and this is Magnify Him in Madison. Just leaving a message to encourage People on the Water. I heard, from Indiana, I heard your call today regarding your mental health and the mental health of your girlfriend. And I just, from the very start, when I first heard you call in a few years ago, and you were about 18 at the time, trying to figure out what to do with your life. I was just deeply impressed by you and just felt something, felt that you had the Holy Spirit, a strong sense of the Holy Spirit and for that age. So, I call now to encourage you in this time that you’re struggling. I do feel strongly that God has a plan for you, something special, something better than what’s going on right now for you. So, I pray that you’re able to hold on, persevere, push through. Something deep inside tells me that you are something special and that something big and positive, some type of positive impact you will have on this world. So, I just wanna call to encourage you. I’ll be praying for you. And another person I hadn’t heard from for a while is Cody in Utah. And I’ve been wondering, he’s another young person that would call in. I’ve been wondering how you’ve been doing as well. So, Cody, if you’re out there, please reach out. But People on the Water, I love you, we love you, God loves you, more importantly. Stay strong.

Ezekiel 33:1-34:31, Hebrews 13:1-25, Psalm 115:1-18, Proverbs 27:21-22

Today is the 16th day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is wonderful to be here with you today, like every day here, taking the next step forward together and continuing the journey through the Scriptures. We are deep into the book of Ezekiel; well, we are deep into the book of Hebrews as well. But we’ll be continuing through both of those today. We’re reading from the Common English Bible this week. Today Ezekiel chapters 33 and 34.

Commentary:

Okay, so, today we finished the…the book known as Hebrews, which is this amazing vision of the gospel from a Hebrew perspective, tying the gospel to the Hebrew story. And as we ended we were told to remember those who brought the good news of the gospel to us in the first place. Try to remember them, imitate their faith. That was necessary then, obviously that’s still something that we should do today as we have our mentors and those that we look up to. We were also told to watch out for strange teachings and instead of like going into all of the specifics of the different teachings because there were many, and there still are, the writer of Hebrews kept this in a completely Hebrew perspective and context. Yes, there are strange teachings. The true gospel is the one in which all the prophecies are fulfilled, and this was accomplished through one person and that person is Jesus. So, like, to illustrate this Hebrew centric perspective, let’s just read a couple versus. The blood of the animals is carried into the holy of holies by the high priest as an offering for sin and their bodies are burned outside the camp. And so, Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy with His own blood. Like, if you’re pagan that doesn’t really matter or make any sense. But from a Hebrew perspective, it does. For Hebrew believers who were suffering this marginalization and persecution, this parallel would’ve been meaningful. It would have seemed that they were walking in the footsteps of Jesus, and it should be meaningful to us too, our relationship with God may not be understood by everybody around us and isn’t understood by everybody around us. And we may be mischaracterized. But we’ve also concluded Hebrews and so, we’re stepping forward from one of the major pieces of the New Testament. So, let’s just think back at all that we’ve been able to see, and we’ve learned that God has done a new thing in the world, in the world through Jesus by coming in the flesh. He instituted a new covenant, and we’re permitted to personally enter the holy of holies because of this new covenant, we can collaborate with, we can be in relationship intimately with God. And this relationship is built through faith and hope in what we can’t see. Faith is the activator; it’s always been the way that we experience life with God. And faith is something that has to be strengthened, it’s like a muscle. So, we have to lose whatever is slowing us down, and run the race of life with endurance. And part of that endurance is walking in the footsteps of Jesus and persevering and enduring marginalization of persecution. We can’t just kinda hide in society, we have to live as light in the darkness, we have to believe that we are a part of God’s family, a new family. Jesus was the firstborn. And those who are following Him are born into this family of God. Which brings us to a beautiful benediction; may the God of peace, who brought back the great Shepherd of the sheep our Lord Jesus from the dead, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with every good thing to do His will, by developing in us what pleases him through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory forever and always. Amen.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word, we thank you for every single day of all these years but every single day of this year that we have shown up together, taking the next step forward. We thank You for this milestone of moving through the book of Hebrews, as we continue forward into the ending of the year, and the ending of the Scriptures. Holy Spirit come, there’s so much left for us, help us finish strong. We ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer and Encouragements:

Hello DAB family, this is TD in Texas. I’m calling in to pray for Joe. Joe called in saying he doesn’t know what he needs as far as prayer. That’s okay Joe, because in Matthew 6:8 it is written that your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. And in Romans 8:26, in the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We don’t know what we ought to pray for but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. If everyone in the DAB family would pray with me as we pray for Joe. Our Father in Heaven, thank You for prompting Joe to call in and ask for prayer. It could not have been easy but Joe, we’re so glad you called in. Joe has been tormented throughout his life and it’s painful not to experience the love you see your siblings or others receive. But God, You have seen every painful moment in Joe’s life. And You want to heal his hurt. Joe said he was saved as a young child. Lord, help him to come back to his first love which is You, Jesus. Jesus, You have never left his side. But help Joe to come back and develop a closer relationship with You. Joe says he doesn’t have any close friends. Help him to know that we will be his family and friends. The DAB family will always be there for you Joe, praying for you in earnest. God, please be with Joe and guide him. Help him to get a closer walk with you. Help Joe to lean on his DAB family for encouragement and prayer, as he builds his relationship with you. This we ask in Jesus name. Amen. We are praying for you Joe. God bless.

Hey DAB family, this is your sister Ashley from California. And I wanted to give you an update. Yesterday, November 11th at 6am, my papa experienced his homecoming. What was really special was that I, after taking over for my brother Cody, who was up with him until about 4 o’clock in the morning. And my mom stepped out to take a break and rest for a moment. I was in there with him and I was listening to, I was listening to Brian. And what was really providential and such a God thing was that the reading from yesterday was a great, was a great dichotomy of who my papa was. How in Ezekiel, talking about the graphic nature of how God was explaining the betrayal from Samaria and from Judah. And then also, about how we can boldly go before the, Jesus, our high priest in heaven and walk right in there. That’s who my papa was. And now he is experiencing that shalom and that perfect peace because he’s there. He is in heaven now and I am rejoicing at that. And rejoicing with the hope that I have for eternity. But dang, it’s really hard with the grief here, especially after so much loss in the last few years. So, please keep my family in your prayers. And DAB family, I am so grateful for you. And I am praying alongside with you. I love you, everybody. Bye.

Father God, I come before You, lifting up prayer requests and laying them at Your feet. For Mike in South Dakota with this skin condition. Refined by His Love in Arizona for encouragement through the trials of life. For Sheena in Saskatchewan, their family is not okay. People on the Water is stressed and going through a difficult time right now. Summer Girl in Tennessee, for mental illness with her mom and all the family dynamics that are not going on and the people in the family that are not saved. Father God, turn these stubborn hearts to You and let the word of God be able to settle on. Take the scales off their eyes, their blinded eyes Lord, and let them see You and let them see Your glory. For the situation where this young couple is pregnant Lord, and they’re stressed. Give them Your peace Lord. Give them their confidence in Your power. Let hope explode within all of these people that are suffering that need encouragement that are going through trials. That are feeling unstable, and things aren’t okay. But with You, we know that You can give us fresh resolve Lord. That Your divine intervention can come in and turn things around in the blink of an eye. And that’s exactly what we’re asking for, for saving grace, for saving families with Your salvation, for healing, for the stressful situations for guidance. We give You the praise and the glory.

Hey DAB family, it’s Abba’s Daughter, Sadie M. Today is Monday, November 13th. I’m listening to the tail end of the community prayer for the week. But I wanted to come on and pray for our prayer warriors. Because they’re praying for everyone. And I just want to lift up those of us who are praying for everyone. So, the Junk to Treasure’s, the God’s Life Speaker’s, the Prisoners of Hope, all of you and so many more. That’s just a few. But all of You who are praying and just lifting everyone and every challenge to the throne. I want to lift you to the throne. I want to lift your challenges to the throne today. So, let’s go to the throne, in honor of our amazing prayers warriors here at DAB. Abba Father, thank You so much for these amazing people that You have placed in the DAB community. Thank You for their consistency, for their loyalty to us and even more importantly, their loyalty to You, Lord. They are committed, prayer warriors of Your throne, of Your mighty name, Lord. And I just ask Your blessings upon them. Your blessings upon each and every prayer warrior here at DAB. Whether they are always calling or just silent warriors, Lord. I ask Your blessing upon these amazing people. We are so grateful for the prayer warriors here at DAB, Abba Father. And we just, we just ask Your blessing upon them. May Your face shine upon them and give them peace. We’re incredibly grateful for their silent service or for their not so silent service. Amen. Thank you, prayer warriors. We deeply appreciate your service and commitment in prayer. Abba’s Daughter, Sadie M. Bye for now.

So, these guys are being marginalized, sidelined, cast-out, mistreated, even persecuted. And if we remember the story of the apostle Paul, he was one of the persecutors. This is who he was after, Jewish Hebrew people who were converting to following Jesus. So, they had, they had considerable opposition. So, on the one hand they were adopting this way of Jesus and following Jesus teachings and believing that this rewired and reframed things, that God was doing something new in the world and this would lead them to eternal life. But on the other hand, it had only made their human physical lives much more difficult to navigate. So, we can begin to see how this all fits together, a lengthy explanation of how Jesus connects to the Hebrew story and fulfills so many prophecies and brings to an end in era, and begins a new one that follows in a tradition of faith in what can’t be seen but is hoped for and in. And then we walked through all of the examples, Hebrew examples by the way of people who are deeply respected by all Hebrew, all practicing Jewish people. And so, now the writer of Hebrews is saying look, those guys believed in a promise and hoped in it and moved forward and they moved the world and our culture forward in the process. But it was very difficult for them. So, we shouldn’t be surprised that moving this forward, that our place in this story is difficult. So, right now we can’t just disappear into the scenery. We can’t just fade. We have to follow our ancestor’s example and move this forward. So, the conclusion, not of the book of Hebrews, but the conclusion of this thought, so then, let’s also run the race that is laid out in front of us since we have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us. And that great cloud of witnesses being all of the examples of the ancestors that had gone before them. This hall of faith that we walked down over the last couple of days. Let’s throw off any extra baggage and get rid of the sin that trips us up and fix our eyes on Jesus, faith’s pioneer and perfecter. He endured the cross, ignoring the shame, for the sake of the joy that was laid out in front of Him, and sat down at the right side of God’s throne. We should take great encouragement in that because it gives us the lay of the land for our own lives. It’s not always going to be easy. This isn’t even about making things easy. Which is one of the great misconceptions about this journey of faith that we’re on, and one of the things that deeply estranges us from God because for some reason, we think that everything is supposed to be unopposed and without challenge and easy. And when it’s not, we blame God for it. Now, we can see clues that this is somewhat happening in this time because the writer of Hebrews then begins to talk about discipline. And the way that it’s brought out is look, a parent who doesn’t discipline their children and shape them and guide them, doesn’t love them. And if that’s not happening to a child then the child is an illegitimate child. So, they’re basically saying look, we have to, we have to endure this, we have to move through this and get everything that God has for us that’s in it, into our lives. We’re being shaped, we’re being remade new for this new covenant, things have changed, and we are carrying it forward. So, we to can take the counsel found in the last verses that we read today. So, strengthen your drooping hands and weak knees, make straight paths for your feet, so that if any part is lame, it will be healed, rather than injured more seriously.

Prayer:

So, Father, we have to reframe some things, we actually have to keep reframing them, that the obstacles that we face and the challenges that come our way aren’t purposeless. They are an invitation to grow strong in our faith, which we need to be, and they are assisting us with stripping away all of the things that are going nowhere in our lives. So, come Holy Spirit, strengthen our faith. We embrace You and we cling to You in all things. You are the author and perfecter of our faith. So, come Holy Spirit, we pray in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer and Encouragements:

Hi, family, this is Guide my Footsteps. I wanted to call in because it’s been one year, November 10th, since a lady named Barbara called in. And previously, the night before her husband passed away. And she called in to thank Brian for the nighttime readings that had helped to ease him in his final moments. And he actually passed with a smile on his face. And then, she proceeded to…to pray for other people. This is just a few hours after her husband had passed and she was obviously grieving. This made a huge impression on me. I’ve been listening for years and years and there’s been people over that time that have really, really made impressions on me in this community. Blind Tony, Victorious Soldier, I could go on and on and on. But thank you so much for being there. Barbara, I hope you’ve had a good year, if you’re listening. And thank you so much.

Hey DAB brothers and sisters. This is Byron out in Florida. I hope you all are doing well. I’m listening to the reading from today in Hebrews and the commentary that Brian is talking about and it’s just resonating with me so deeply about this idea of God doing a new thing to the Hebrews back then. And also, to us. And it’s absolutely true. Although a little while ago I was asking for prayer because I was dealing with my emotional self, and I got a lot of calls back and encouragement which was amazing but people were saying things I wasn’t expecting. Like I’m heading into a period of wilderness and heading into a period of testing. Or I’m heading into a period of deep intimacy. And I had to wrestle with all those things. And it turns out that it’s very much true. It’s amazing what God does. And so, I 100% resonate with what Mariah was saying, I think that, if God doesn’t occasionally stick His finger into our you know, perfect Christian life every now and then, then maybe we really are on the spiritual journey and we need that humility to realize that no matter what kind of experiences that we have or what we’ve been through, that there’s always more. And He’s inviting us. So, Father, we thank you that there’s no end to You. That Your love is deep and that You keep inviting us to go deeper and deeper and deeper. Help us not to get any kind of swelled head about what You show us, Heavenly Father. But instead, let’s just lean more and more to You. That You can be glorified in every single part of our lives. We give You the glory today, in Jesus name. Amen.

Hey DAB fam, this is People on the Water from Indiana. I’m calling in today because, because my counties sheriff, I got an alert that I may be on watch. So, that’s what woke me up this morning, along with my dad. And it was honestly, it was for a second it was like seeing Jesus. You know, I was really shocked. Like, I was like sleeping and that, you’re sleeping, you head doesn’t work. And it was really confusing. But yeah, so I guess pray for my mental health. Pray for my girlfriend’s mental health, as well. And I’ll see you in a little bit. Bye.

Good morning Daily Audio Bible family, this is Wrapped in His Unfailing Love, Dorothy from Destin. And I wanted to call in this morning for a few people that I heard this morning on the 11th of November. First, I’d like to pray for Grace, the passing of your dad, that you believe is imminent. And that you had a wonderful dad. How wonderful and you will get to see him again. So, I pray for your comfort. And I pray for all the things that you prayed for, peaceful passing, no pain and just a wonderful time that you have left with him and comfort. And Lord, we lift up Debbie’s friend Kathy’s husband and this terrible chemo that he’s going through. But Lord, we know that You are the ultimate healer and that You can provide a miracle. You’ve also provided the miracle of friendship and we pray; we praise You for that. And that Debbie will be a great friend and that she is a great friend to Kathy and her husband. Lord, I’d also like to lift up Anonymous and Confused to You. And this is the Scripture I have for you, 1 Timothy 1:7 For God gave us a spirit, not of fear, but of power, love and self-control. And Anonymous, you know the truth and the truth will set you free. And walk in faith. Just start out, start by doing and God will give you the strength that you need to leave this relationship. Lord, we…we bless her. We ask You to give her strength and mercy and grace. I love this family. I pray that you all have a wonderful day. Thank you, Brian, for this wonderful ministry. Bye.

Ezekiel 29:1-30:26, Hebrews 11:32-12:13, Psalm 112:1-10, Proverbs 27:17

Today is the 14th day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian, we’re probably far enough in the year for you to know that I’m Brian. It’s good to be here with you today, and I’m excited to take the next step forward. We’ll move into Ezekiel and then into Hebrews where we will talk about faith. But first, Ezekiel chapter 29 verse 1, to 30 verse 26. We’re reading from the Common English Bible this week.

Commentary:

Alright so, in Hebrews, as I’ve been saying most every day, Hebrews was written to Hebrews. Which is not me saying because it was written to Hebrews it has no meaning for us. It’s to say that’s the context and context is important in the Bible. These are early Jewish believers in Jesus, and they are declaring that God is doing a new thing among the Hebrew people. That Jesus is a part of the Hebrew story, and that God is doing a new thing among the Hebrew people. The old covenant is accomplished, and a new covenant is instituted. But this is not widely accepted at the time or now, among the Hebrew people. So, this letter is to restate what is believed about Jesus in a Hebrew context among the early believers in Jesus. Because they are on the margins. At best, these early Hebrew believers in Jesus, were thought to be just a part of another Jewish sect, sort of like a weird new denomination of Judaism who were following a rabbi name Jesus, who happen to be executed by the Romans.

Ezekiel 24:1-26:21, Hebrews 11:1-16, Psalm 110:1-7, Proverbs 27:14

Today is the 12th day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian, it’s great to be here with you today and every day. Of course, here we are at the sparkly shiny threshold of a brand-new week. Looking at the week, we will continue to journey our way through the book of Ezekiel. And in the New Testament, we will conclude this week, the book of Hebrews, and move forward into James. And we will read from the Common English Bible this week. So, let’s dive in, Ezekiel chapter 24 verse 1, through 26 verse 21.

Commentary:

Okay, in our reading from Psalms today, we read Psalm 110, which refers to Melchizedek. One of the two only references to Melchizedek in the Old Testament, and we talked about that at length, when we began the book of Hebrews. So, I’m just pointing that out.

In the book of Hebrews, we turn the corner and begin to move into the next piece of what is being laid out in Hebrews. So, since we began Hebrews, we’ve been examining from a Hebrew context, a Jewish context, the sacrificial system, the way to get to God, and to be absolved of sin. And the writer of Hebrews is saying that in Jesus death, that system is completed, and is no longer necessary. We now have a high priest in heaven, a new covenant has been instituted, we can now ourselves go into the holy of holies. So, in other words, we can now ourselves as individuals stand clean and righteous before God and enter His presence ourselves. And we’ve talked about what a monumental paradigm shift that was for the Hebrews that this was written to. Today, we begin to talk about what enables all of that. The reality that we have to enter and live from within, in order for this to become true, and that reality is called faith. So, as we turn the corner and begin Hebrews chapter 11, we’re greeted with that, faith is the reality of what we hope for, the proof of what we don’t see. And then we spent the rest of our time in Hebrews today seeing examples of this from the Scriptures. And we started at the beginning and began to work our way forward. And we will continue with those examples as we read forward, as we go forward tomorrow. Some scholars call this the hall of faith, that the hall of faith in the Bible because it’s example, after example of people who lived by faith in order to move into a reality that would otherwise be impossible. And we should enjoy this because it’s kind of a fast motion move through a number of the stories that we’ve encountered as we’ve move through the Bible this year. But it also shows us this common thread, faith is a necessary part of our humanity, of our journey, and certainly is the rocket fuel of our relationship with God. So, we should enjoy ourselves as we move through these examples. But then Hebrews will lead us to a place where we realize okay, the examples are wonderful, but I can’t move into this on someone else’s faith, it’s going to come down to some choices and decisions that I have to make. And we’ll get to that over the next couple of days.

Prayer:

And so, Father, the Scriptures tell us that it’s impossible to please You without faith, and so now, as we begin to explore faith from the book of Hebrews, we invite Your Holy Spirit to strengthen and increase our faith in You, as we look at these examples of people who had faith against all odds, faith in a reality that they could not see, faith in You and You alone. Come Holy Spirit and make this a reality in our lives. We ask in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer and Encouragements:

DAB family, it’s KC the Single-Minded Plumber. I love you guys. It’s another beautiful sunny day in sunny aloha. I hope all you guys are having and awesome day and enjoying yourselves. Bless all of you. I wanted to call in, in particular to thank a few people in the DAB community. I know we have some law enforcement officers in our community. And it’s inspiring, law enforcement officers. I want to thank you, specifically. I grew up with a single mother on welfare in the poorest neighborhoods we could find. And a lot of my father figures were law enforcement officers. Anybody, any male figures in my family were on drugs or selling drugs. So, law enforcement officers made a big difference in my life. They taught me right from wrong. They let me know when I was doing something wrong. They brought me home and kept me safe a lot of nights. So, you never know when you’re in the community, what a difference and what an impact you make on…on the people you meet. God bless you guys. Thank you for doing what you do. You’re appreciated, you really are. Even if the people who you’re helping, don’t show it at the time, and I didn’t. But a lot of the law enforcement officers I knew when I was a child, still wonder how I’m doing. And reach out to me and hope I’m doing okay. So, I just want to say, I love you. God bless you. Bless your families. Bless everything you do. Byyyyeee

Hey fam, it’s Spark. I wanted to call. I was listening to community prayer. And I heard a call from Joe. Hey dude, I’m so glad that you’re on here. You were talking about your struggles, childhood and things like that. And how you can be bitter about that. But I’m gonna tell you right now, that’s okay. You’re seeing things that happened that changed your mind. And it’s different to listen to Proverbs, hard to listen to it sometimes. But I want to tell you dude, I want to urge you to get where I was. So, when I started listening to this, I was just so exhausted. I was exhausted with being frustrated, angry, down. Man, I’ve…I’ve had some upside downs in my life. I always tell you that. You know, where you’re left on your backside and can’t really make sense of all of it. And keep digging right now. And there’s gonna be a point, when you say you have trouble listening, I will tell you what God is, God is taking you right now, and He’s putting you in this situation, not to listen to His word out of fear or out of shame of things that have happened to you. Right now, He’s looking at you and telling you, you can be brand new. And here is my promise. And when that clicked, where I realized that everything that had beat the fire out of me. I didn’t have to take it anymore. This is a promise you’re listening to. And this is God telling you how much He loves you. And I started reading it like a nerd. I love you dude. Hang in there.

Hey DAB family, it’s Abba’s Daughter Sadie M. I’m listening to today’s reading, November 7th. And James from Nebraska, I think I got your moniker right, your wife Mary, you found on the floor after a couple hours of probably being unconscious after a fall. And I just, I wanna take her to the throne. You said it’s not looking good. And I just wanna take her to our Jehovah Raffa, our healer. I believe that He can heal. That’s what it takes for miracles to happen is belief and faith in our mighty God. So, let’s go to the throne for Mary. Abba Father, we come before You today in awe of Your power. We come before You today in awe of all the things You have done, miracle, miracle, miracle. Both in a time when Jesus was on earth, among us and even beyond that time. Lord, You have done so many miracles for so many. And so, we ask today that You would heal Mary. That You would heal her in such a way that the only way she would recognize it is You, Lord. That this healing would bring her to You, Lord, and Lord, when she comes to You, I know she will be welcomed with open arms in the most grand celebration in heaven. So, Lord, we ask for this miracle and this healing. And this coming to You Lord, we just pray and know that You can do it. We believe in the miracle, Lord. So, Abba Father, Jehovah Raffa have Your way with Mary and bless James with patience, kindness and gentleness as they work together in Mary’s healing. In your precious name. Amen. Abba’s Daughter Sadie M, bye for now.

Hello DABers, this is K from Ohio. I want to pray for Kyle from Pennsylvania. Praying for his daughter Rylee who’s 3 years old. Sir, this prayer request touched my heart so dearly. I have two children and I work with three-, four- and five-year-olds and it just, God knows the children touch my heart, and the pull and they tug until they can’t tug anymore. So, God I ask You, You heard my prayer before I even got on this call. We speak encouragement to the parent’s heart, that they will remember that You are the true living God. That You are Jehovah Raffa, besides You there is none other. There’s nothing that You can’t do. There’s nothing that’s too hard. God, I’m asking that You’d be right there and holding Rylee’s hand. Hold the parent’s hand, wrap them up in Your loving arms. And let them not feel that fear that tries to grip them and twist their hearts and they can’t talk, and they can’t breathe. They know how great You are, and they know You’re a healer and that You’re faithful. But it’s their child, God. Give them strength to stand on Your word and trust You beyond all understanding. And when no one else is sure, they are sure that You are the true and living God and that You’re holy and divine will, will be done. In the name of Jesus. Thank You for being faithful God. Do Your best for them. We’re looking for a miracle. It’s in Your son, Jesus name we pray. We count it all done. Amen.
