Numbers 8:1-9:23, Mark 13:14-37, Psalms 50:1-23, Proverbs 10:29-30
Today is the 7th day of March. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian and it is a joy and an honor to be here with you today and we’re here to take the next step forward. For me, the next step forward out of jet lag, but for all of us the next step forward in the Scriptures. So, this week we’ve been reading from the New Living Translation, which is what we’ll continue to do through the remainder of the week. And, of course, we’re picking up where we left off yesterday. Numbers chapter 8 and 9 today.
Commentary:
Okay. So, the book of Proverbs told us today that “the way of the Lord is a stronghold to those with integrity but the way of the Lord destroys the wicked.” So, the way of the Lord is the way of the Lord and depending on how you approach the way of the Lord determines how the way of the Lord will have an impact on you, right? So, the way of the Lord is a stronghold if we have integrity, but the way of the Lord will be destroying us before if we’re wicked. I mean this is like…typically this is fine and good with us, we like the encouragement because the first part, God’s gonna be our stronghold and, of course, that’s because we’re the upright, we have integrity. We consider ourselves on the positive side of the equation, but are we? Because God’s purpose in the world is to heal and restore it bringing humanity back into relationship with Himself and part of that restoration is the abolition of wickedness, right, the annihilation of evil and deception in every form because it can’t coexist with the righteousness of God and it goes against all we were ever created to be. Wickedness is counter to redemption. The Proverb tells us the Godly will never be disturbed but the wicked will be removed from the land. And if words like that, like, immediately take us to our political views or for that matter make us cast judgment on somebody, like there, they’re getting what they deserve just like the Bible says, then we have to look a little deeper into our own hearts because honestly, we’re wandering into pretty wicked territory. When we put ourselves in the position of a cosmic judge then we are putting ourselves in the position of God. And when we do this apart from God, then we’re denying the way of the Lord and this will destroy us in the end, according to the Proverb. So, if we want to live a life knowing that God is our stronghold and that we will not be disturbed then we have to take responsibility for our personal integrity and not everybody else’s. This is what the voice of wisdom has to speak to us today.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, plant the words of wisdom in our lives because we are determined to become wise, people of wisdom, we are determined to follow You and be Your hands and feet in this world. And, so, Your word has come to us, the voice of wisdom has spoken to us, and we are once again reminded to get our eyes off everyone else’s life and onto our own. Come Holy Spirit we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I was just so moved about what I heard…the job that you’re doing or the service that you’re giving to those kids, providing, being a mom and dad to so many kids. God is truly blessing you with that and I heard your prayer request of how you can get overwhelmed…not overwhelmed but emotionally drained or financially. So, I’m just calling to let you know that I am praying for you and lifting you up in prayer to continue to give you and your husband and your family strength to continue to do God’s work. I think it’s amazing what you’re doing. God bless you and your family. And also, I’m calling for prayer for Art. I heard your prayer request and I just wanted you to know that I am praying for you too. I understand what it’s like to have to endure people’s pain. Hi family, this is Christy from Kentucky, traveling, so, and my heart is just broken today for the devastation in Alabama and in Georgia and all the lives that have been lost and I just…family I just can’t tell you of…we were supposed to be right in the middle of that yesterday. We left Florida and we were late. We came to Gainesville and when we got to Gainesville we had a tire on the car that was separated and we didn’t know it. And, so, when we got here, we have friends here and we stopped to visit them and my husband found it and it was Sunday and they couldn’t find tires for it and so we were gonna have to spend the night and we got to elderly dogs at home and the sitters were like put out with us because it’s so late, but God in His mercy…and I’m so grateful to Him because we would’ve been right in the middle of that storm had this not happened and I just thank God for His faithfulness in taking care of us and keeping us safe. I just wanted to call in today because I’m just…my heart is just broken for these people and I’m so grateful that we were not in that storm. I love you guys so much. Please pray for continued safety. The tire store’s not been very gracious but I’m praying that they did a good job on our car so we can get home. I love you guys so very much, and I pray that each of you today are going to have a blessed and lovely day and that you safe.
Hi DABbers, this is Kara calling from Denver, mile high city and I just…I would like prayers today for me. I want to learn how to be a warrior, a spiritual warrior, a warrior for Christ and for God. I’ve always been just really kind of a jellyfish and real pacifist I guess and I’ve lost really, really big things in my life because I’ve been…I’ve been so…kind of in the hands of the enemy and so entrenched, you know, in the kingdom of darkness that I just didn’t know how to fight and specifically with my children. I have…I should, you know, have a house of children and I don’t…it’s by myself and, of course, decisions that I made lead me to be in this situation. But I didn’t fight…I didn’t fight for my kids and they were…one was taken from me and I didn’t fight to get her back and she is with an adopted family and she’s…her name is McKenna and she’s with a good Christian family I think. So, that’s really comforting but she’s not with me and it just does not seem right and my heart is broken and my son who is in open adoption and I decided to do that because I didn’t feel…I didn’t have the confidence in myself that I could take care of my own children and I couldn’t be with the father, you know, of these two children. And I just didn’t know how to fight, and I really want to…I want to learn how to fight…
Hello fellow DABbers, this is Mike from New Jersey, I’m a first-time caller, I’ve been listening for about four years though and I had to call today. Jill, when you, I guess, providentially used the wrong readings today that was a blessing for me, especially when you said in your exposition gospel that anything can be redeemed. I mean, that was exactly what I needed to hear today. I am struggling in my marriage and need prayer for myself and my wife. She says we need to be apart, we’ve been apart for a year now and it just so happens that today is our 30th anniversary, being March 4th. So, appreciate your prayers guys and really for anyone who’s struggling in their marriage. You know God is using the where I’m right now. He’s treating me with kid gloves really and maybe I need to be moved along a little bit as well. So, thank you so much guys. Thank you, Brian and Jill for your ministry and praise God is using you guys.
