Daniel 1:1-2:23, 1 Peter 3:8-4:6, Psalm 119:65-80, Proverbs 28:14

Today is the 25th day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian, it’s great to be here with you today. On a day all over the world, I think it’s all over the world, known as Black Friday, definitely is known that way around…around these parts, big shopping day. Big sales. It’s like…it’s like Christmas just descends upon us, and now…now here we are. We’re one month from today, is Christmas day. So that’s where we are in the year, that’s where we locate ourselves and gather around the Global Campfire and well, let’s take the next step forward together.

Introduction to the Book of Daniel:

And our next step has us squarely at the threshold of a brand-new book, the book of Daniel. Which is really one of the most interesting books in the Old Testament, it's…it’s because of its imagery. So, Daniel is respected for its historical account but it’s very, very famous for the sweeping prophetic visions that are contained in the book and those prophetic visions have been poured over and studied and consulted over thousands of years, in the studies of the end times, eschatology. And Daniel is a hotly debated book, in that regard. There are biblical scholars that would argue that the things that Daniel are writing about are things that he has experience of and is speaking to. And so, Daniel than is rooted in the Babylonian exile because that’s the perspective that the story is written from. Then there are other biblical scholars would argue very convincingly and like all biblical scholars, very passionately, that Daniel is a much more recent book than the Babylonian exile and this debate even crosses over to Hebrew biblical scholars and not only Christian biblical scholars. And if it’s more recent and that is the argument, then the interpretation for Daniel saying then becomes a product of debate. If it’s a more recent writing and when I say more recent, I’m like, not like last year or in the last decade, I’m like, within a century-ish of Jesus, as opposed to centuries earlier than that, at the time of Babylon. And there are a huge amount of debates about, is what Daniel saw, no matter when he saw it, is what he saw about the future, like distant future as an like, it’s been thousands of years since this book has been written, are we still looking to the future for what he is…is saying symbolically, or was he speaking more to a more immediate context and using symbolic apocalyptic language that would be apparent to the reader, what the symbols are. And way, way, way smarter people than me continue the debate. Nevertheless, the imagery in Daniel is written about the time of the exile, contemporary with books like we just read, the book of Ezekiel. We know from history, as well as from the Bible, that when exile, when Jerusalem fell and was destroyed and the people were carried into exile, that was very, very difficult and Daniel is one of the exiles, who remarkably finds favor. He finds favor with God, but he finds favor with those around him. He was a gifted man who became an influential advisor in the Babylonian kingdom of Nebuchadnezzar and then beyond. But here’s where it kinda gets interesting, Daniel was in exile, he was a Hebrew, he was prophetic, but he wasn’t a prophet for or against Israel. The things that Daniel sees that we’re going to read, the visions that he sees aren’t Jewish, particularly. Which makes Daniel have a unique voice in the Bible. So, as we begin the book of Daniel, the first half of the book roughly we’ll be reading the story of Daniel’s life. And within that retelling, are some of the most famous stories, like stories that are Sunday school stories, stories that I have well, I don’t know when I learned them. But I can’t remember not having heard them. Stories, like Daniel in the lion’s den, right. Stories like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace. That kind of famous. And then, kinda as we move toward the back half of the book, we shift to these prophetic visions of great world empires. And if you are a student of eschatology and the end times is the thing that you feast upon the most, then there is no way to avoid Daniel. Daniel has been part of that discussion for a long time. But whether you’re trying to figure that out or you’re not, Daniel shows us, regardless of what we’re looking for in the book of Daniel, that God is sovereign over all the kingdoms of the world. This is His world. He made this world. He is sovereign overall. And so, we’re gonna begin. By the time we get out of the book of Daniel, we’ll be in the final month of the year. And as we’ve talked about a number of times along the way leading up to kind of this point in the year, this is…this is when rhythms change. We’re in the holiday season and it’s just very, very easy to find all the distractions in the world to pull us away from finishing well, what we’ve begun, this journey, so many days ago. That it brought us to this point. But the rhythm of the Scriptures in our lives, should be something that, by now, we’ve noticed. And that we’ve valued and although things may get disruptive, this is the last thing we should let go of. W need the Scriptures in our lives every day. They make a massive amount a difference. So, let’s finish well, as we begin Daniel chapter 1 verse 1, through two verse 23 today.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word. Thank You for another day, another week, another year we’re always moving through all of those things, and we thank You that Your word is present in all of it. And now, as we are turning toward the end of week, but also really the inauguration of the busiest season of the year and it’s a blessed season. It's…it’s a season where we celebrate Your arrival, where we long for it and wait for it and then rejoice over it and give gifts to each other in celebration of it. That the world has changed irreversibly because You came. It’s also a busy season, very busy, it can be very disruptive, it changes up our rhythms, and we need You in it. And we’ve learned by walking through the Scriptures that disruption is a part of the story, and we can fight against it, or we can embrace it and look for You in it. And that’s what we want to do. We don’t want to get bulled over and upside down and full of anxiety and all kinds of conflict, we want to look for You in all of the adventure that is ahead. Come, Holy Spirit, into this time, into this season and into this present moment, leading and guiding us forward into all truth. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

And I have that hanging on my tree as…as we speak, even though I can’t see it right this minute, I know it’s there, I put it there myself. So, that’s hanging on the tree with all the other years. We’re also including the Global Campfire candle, that indeed gives off the aroma of campfire and is just beautiful room filling aroma, that reminds us of the community that we share as we move through the Scriptures each and every day. So, that’s in the Christmas box. A Global Campfire pop socket, as well as two Global Campfire stickers. Prayer and Encouragements:

Hey family, it’s Valiant Val a.k.a. Val in Vegas. Right now, we gonna gather around this campfire for our sweet Jasmine in New York. Oh family, she’s going through her senior year in high school, and she feels like she does the right thing in the summer but then when it comes to school there’s, she strays a bit. She’s going through that human experience, as we all go through. Jasmine, I need you know that you girl, you just ministered to my heart in such a way. Please forgive me, ya’ll know I’m a crier. God just renamed me Valiant because He says I’m courageous and brave. And like you Jasmine, I don’t feel courageous and brave all the time. Heavenly Father, send my friend, my sister, my beloved sister, Jasmine in New York, in her senior year, Lord. Send her somebody that chases after Your heart God. Like she does, Lord Jesus. Lord, Your word says the one can get 1,000 but two can get 10,000. So, God, send her two. Lord, send her a friend that loves the Lord. Someone that she can be bold and courageous with, Heavenly Father. I see you starting an amazing Bible study in your senior year at your high school, Jasmine. I see great things in your future, girl. And you don’t wait a year to call in. We need to hear from you. Lord, go and be with my sister Jasmine, in Jesus name, Father. Give her the courageousness and the braveness that she needs, Lord, to pronounce You, Lord. In Jesus name.

Hi, Daily Audio Bible, this is Paul from Houston. And I’m just calling to pray for Chris-Ann who called in on the 22nd of November for her marriage. She had I guess, going through a divorce for 13 years. And I just want to encourage you, you said you had a court date on Friday. And I just want you to believe, to realize that God is with you. And as you’re going into the courtroom, that you realize His presence is with you. Cause wherever you step, that He is there with you. And so, let’s pray. Thank you, Jesus for Christ, Lord, for her, her marriage. I know she’s gone through so much, for so many years and she’s stood in faith and believed in different things but Lord, as things change Lord, we ask God, that Your will, will be done. And that Your presence will be there with her. And I thank You Lord, that You take her even through this, this challenge and taking care of kids, you know, it being alone and different things Lord. That You would just anoint her and just be with her and just thank You Lord for blessing her. Even though she’s walking through these very challenging places, God. And I just ask Lord, that You would be with her and help her to, help her to feel your presence, Lord. Help her to know on a tangible way, Lord, that You are there with her. That You know all the different circumstances in her life, Lord. And I thank You, Lord, for being with her and anyone that’s walking through a divorce or through a separation and things. And Lord, I thank You, Lord, that You accept up, Lord. You accept those people that have been hurt and rejected by other partners, Lord. And Lord, I thank You love us. When sometimes we can’t love ourselves, Lord. And I just thank You, Lord,

Hello DAB family, Pastor Steve from Southeast Ohio. Just calling in to pray and trust all of you have the joys and blessed Thanksgiving. I know there are many out there that probably are looking for a place to be with someone that would care enough to have them sit at their table. So, I’m praying for those people today. Just, we have so much to be thankful for. And He is a good, good Father, as the Psalm would tell us. But I’m also asking that the Lord be with all those people that call in everyday, that have many, many needs, that God is right there to answer. Been there and still there myself. So, I give Him praise. Praise the Lord, everyone. And Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus and by the help and the anointing of Your Holy Spirit, I just ask that You would touch each name and each person and every soul, that is in special need today, that have called in. And I know You have it and You’ll take care of it. And I give You the glory for it. Thank You, in Jesus name, Heavenly Father. And also, thank you all DAB family for your prayers for me and my family also. Take care and have a blessed and joyous Thanksgiving. Bye Bye.

Hello DAB family. I want to leave a prayer for the children in Haiti. The orphanages and their caretakers. I’m sorry, I don’t remember the names. But I do want to leave a message. Holy God, Holy Father, You are the God of all things, Lord God. Everything is in Your control, Lord God. All power, Father, and glory and might and honor, Lord God. There is not one thing that is beyond Your control. Lord God, those children need their food and their medication, Lord God. They need to stay safe, Lord God. And we ask that You would put a hedge of protection around them, Lord God. Many mighty angels. Mimi, whatcha doing? I’m praying buddy. Why? Because the children in Haiti need it, so shush, shush for a minute. Anyway, Lord God, we pray Father that Your mighty banner of Holy angels would surround them, and You would bring the schemes of the enemy to nothing. I also lift up Jesse from Washington and his children, his daughters 7 and his son, 3. Lord God, who are also in danger, Lord God. There is abuse happening there, both physical and verbal Lord God. Father, please, God, put this to an end, Lord God. Allow the truth to come out, Father. Help the reporters to see the truth, Lord God. In Jesus name. Amen.

Hello, this is World Changing Mom, in the Bay Area, California. I am excited to share how reading the Bible has changed my life. Growing up in the church I just thought maybe reading the Bible once through, was this impossibility that just hung over me. I had no idea how I would ever be able to do it. And now, that I’ve been a part of the Daily Audio Bible community about ten years, it is one of the joys of my life, to see how the word of God has just infiltrated every part of every aspect of my life. I’m so grateful for how the word of God has come to life through the meetings here. And my deepest gratitude and appreciation go to the Hardin Family and all who make this the beautiful place that it is to grow and enjoy the word of God. Thank you.

Daniel 1:1-2:23

Daniel’s Captivity in Babylon

In the third year of the reign of King Jehoiakim(A) of Judah, King Nebuchadnezzar[a](B) of Babylon came to Jerusalem and laid siege to it. The Lord handed King Jehoiakim of Judah over to him, along with some of the vessels from the house of God.(C) Nebuchadnezzar carried them to the land of Babylon,[b](D) to the house of his god,[c] and put the vessels in the treasury of his god.

The king ordered Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring some of the Israelites from the royal family(E) and from the nobility— young men without any physical defect, good-looking, suitable for instruction in all wisdom,(F) knowledgeable, perceptive, and capable of serving in the king’s palace.(G) He was to teach them the Chaldean language(H) and literature. The king assigned them daily provisions from the royal food and from the wine that he drank.(I) They were to be trained for three years, and at the end of that time they were to attend the king.[d](J) Among them, from the Judahites, were Daniel,(K) Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. The chief eunuch gave them names; he gave the name Belteshazzar to Daniel, Shadrach to Hananiah, Meshach to Mishael, and Abednego to Azariah.(L)

Faithfulness in Babylon

Daniel determined that he would not defile himself with the king’s food(M) or with the wine he drank. So he asked permission from the chief eunuch not to defile himself.(N) God had granted Daniel kindness and compassion from the chief eunuch,(O) 10 yet he said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who assigned your food and drink. What if he sees your faces looking thinner than the other young men your age? You would endanger my life[e] with the king.”

11 So Daniel said to the guard whom the chief eunuch had assigned to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 “Please test your servants for ten days. Let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then examine our appearance and the appearance of the young men who are eating the king’s food, and deal with your servants based on what you see.” 14 He agreed with them about this and tested them for ten days. 15 At the end of ten days they looked better and healthier[f] than all the young men who were eating the king’s food.(P) 16 So the guard continued to remove their food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables.

Faithfulness Rewarded

17 God gave these four young men knowledge and understanding(Q) in every kind of literature and wisdom. Daniel also understood visions and dreams(R) of every kind. 18 At the end of the time that the king had said to present them, the chief eunuch presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. 19 The king interviewed them, and among all of them, no one was found equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.(S) So they began to attend the king. 20 In every matter of wisdom and understanding that the king consulted them about, he found them ten times[g](T) better than all the magicians and mediums(U) in his entire kingdom. 21 Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus.(V)

Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams(W) that troubled him, and sleep deserted him.(X) So the king gave orders to summon the magicians, mediums, sorcerers, and Chaldeans[h](Y) to tell the king his dreams. When they came and stood before the king, he said to them, “I have had a dream and am anxious to understand it.”

The Chaldeans spoke to the king (Aramaic[i](Z) begins here): “May the king live forever.(AA) Tell your servants the dream, and we will give the interpretation.”

The king replied to the Chaldeans, “My word is final: If you don’t tell me the dream and its interpretation, you will be torn limb from limb,[j] and your houses will be made a garbage dump.(AB) But if you make the dream and its interpretation known to me, you’ll receive gifts, a reward, and great honor from me.(AC) So make the dream and its interpretation known to me.”

They answered a second time, “May the king tell the dream to his servants, and we will make known the interpretation.”

The king replied, “I know for certain you are trying to gain some time, because you see that my word is final. If you don’t tell me the dream, there is one decree for you.(AD) You have conspired to tell me something false or fraudulent until the situation changes. So tell me the dream and I will know you can give me its interpretation.”

10 The Chaldeans answered the king, “No one on earth can make known what the king requests.(AE) Consequently, no king, however great and powerful, has ever asked anything like this of any magician, medium, or Chaldean. 11 What the king is asking is so difficult that no one can make it known to him except the gods, whose dwelling is not with mortals.”(AF) 12 Because of this, the king became violently angry(AG) and gave orders to destroy all the wise men of Babylon. 13 The decree was issued that the wise men were to be executed, and they searched for Daniel and his friends, to execute them.

14 Then Daniel responded with tact and discretion to Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard,[k](AH) who had gone out to execute the wise men of Babylon. 15 He asked Arioch, the king’s officer, “Why is the decree from the king so harsh?” [l](AI) Then Arioch explained the situation to Daniel. 16 So Daniel went and asked the king to give him some time, so that he could give the king the interpretation.

17 Then Daniel went to his house and told his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah about the matter, 18 urging them to ask the God of the heavens(AJ) for mercy(AK) concerning this mystery, so Daniel and his friends would not be destroyed with the rest of Babylon’s wise men.(AL) 19 The mystery was then revealed to Daniel in a vision(AM) at night, and Daniel praised the God of the heavens 20 and declared:

May the name of God
be praised forever and ever,(AN)
for wisdom(AO) and power belong to him.
21 He changes the times and seasons;
he removes kings and establishes kings.(AP)
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those
who have understanding.(AQ)
22 He reveals the deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,(AR)
and light dwells with him.(AS)
23 I offer thanks and praise to you,
God of my ancestors,(AT)
because you have given me
wisdom and power.
And now you have let me know
what we asked of you,
for you have let us know(AU)
the king’s mystery.[m]

1 Peter 3:8-4:6

Do No Evil

Finally, all of you be like-minded and sympathetic, love one another,(A) and be compassionate(B) and humble,[a] not paying back evil for evil(C) or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing,(D) since you were called for this, so that you may inherit a blessing.

10 For the(E) one who wants to love life
and to see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil(F)
and his lips from speaking deceit,(G)
11 and let him turn away(H) from evil
and do what is good.
Let him seek peace(I) and pursue it,
12 because the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against
those who do what is evil.(J)

Undeserved Suffering

13 Who then will harm you if you are devoted to what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness,(K) you are blessed. Do not fear them[b](L) or be intimidated,[c](M) 15 but in your hearts regard[d] Christ[e] the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.(N) 16 Yet do this with gentleness and reverence, keeping a clear conscience,(O) so that when you are accused,[f] those who disparage your good conduct in Christ will be put to shame. 17 For it is better to suffer(P) for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.

18 For Christ also suffered(Q) for sins once for all,(R) the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God.(S) He was put to death in the flesh[g](T) but made alive by the Spirit,[h] 19 in which[i] he also went and made proclamation to the spirits(U) in prison 20 who in the past were disobedient, when God patiently waited in the days of Noah(V) while the ark was being prepared. In it a few—that is, eight people[j](W)—were saved through water. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you (not as the removal of dirt from the body,(X) but the pledge[k] of a good conscience toward God) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,(Y) 22 who has gone into heaven(Z) and is at the right hand of God(AA) with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.(AB)

Following Christ

Therefore, since Christ suffered[l] in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same understanding[m]—because the one who suffers in the flesh is finished(AC) with sin[n] in order to live the remaining time in the flesh no longer for human desires, but for God’s will.(AD) For there has already been enough time spent in doing what the Gentiles choose to do: carrying on in unrestrained behavior, evil desires,(AE) drunkenness, orgies,(AF) carousing, and lawless idolatry. They are surprised that you don’t join them in the same flood of wild living—and they slander[o] you. They will give an account to the one who stands ready to judge the living and the dead.(AG) For this reason the gospel was also preached to those who are now dead,[p](AH) so that, although they might be judged in the flesh according to human standards,(AI) they might live(AJ) in the spirit according to God’s standards.

Ezekiel 47:1-48:35, 1 Peter 2:11-3:7, Psalms 119:49-64, Proverbs 28:12-13

Today is the 24th day of November welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it is a wonderful to be here with you today. Here in the United States this is Thanksgiving Day. That’s one of our major holidays. So, happy Thanksgiving to everybody. Actually, everybody. Doesn’t have to be a specific holiday in a specific country for us to have gratitude, right, for us to give thanks? And, so, happy Thanksgiving Day because it’s a holiday but happy Thanksgiving Day because it’s a day that we get to be here, and we get to rejoice and we get to take the next step forward on our journey through the Scriptures. That journey leads us back into the book of Ezekiel. We should be concluding the book of Ezekiel today. We’ve been reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week. That’s what will continue to do while it’s this week. Today, Ezekiel chapters 47 and 48.

Commentary:

Okay. So, in first Peter today, Peter lays out a framework for the posture of a Christian life and he touches every major category of the Christian life while he’s doing it. And one builds upon another. And, so, to get at this, we kinda need to revisit a bit of the text that we just read from first Peter and just kinda go back through it piece by piece really quick understanding that each piece builds on the next piece. And, so, I quote from what we’ve…actually we’re pretty much gonna read everything we read today from first Peter chapter 2. “Dear friends, I urge you, as strangers and exiles to abstain from sinful desires that wage war against the soul”, right? So, we’re being urged to avoid the things that will do war against our souls, the sinful desires. And that can be different for each of us, but we understand what’s being said here. Avoid these things. That’s like a general default position. “Abstain from sinful desires that wage war against the soul. Conduct your cells honorably among the Gentiles, so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day He visits.” Okay. So, the posture in the first couple sentences is, “abstain from the things that will wage war against your soul and be honorable”, in this case among the Gentiles because Peter’s speaking to Jewish people. Most of us are Gentiles. And, so, we could say among the nonbelievers to give ourselves a bit of application here, “so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and glorify God on the day he visits.” So, what Peter’s saying is, when they slander you don’t live up to what they’re saying. Be the opposite of that so that their words fall flat. That’s not who you are. And this was not uncommon. Christian people were being marginalized. There was definitely tension among the Hebrew people against Christian believers. There was definitely a marginalization in the Roman Empire toward the Christians. And, so, derogatory things were being set against them. That’s a lot of the time how persecution starts, right? First with the information warfare, stereotyping, a group of people as a bad group of people and then dehumanizing that group of people until a mass is amassed enough to destroy that group of people. We can be of any of the racial slurs that we have heard around the world that are meant to be derogatory toward a people group. This was going on in the first century in certain areas marginalizing Christian believers. Peter’s saying that the way that we will combat this is not be the stereotype. Then he goes on. “Submit to every human authority because of the Lord weather to the Emperor as the supreme authority, or to governors as those sent out by him to punish those who do what is evil, and to praise those who do what is good. For it is God’s will that you silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good.” “Silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good.” Not silence the ignorance of foolish people by posting nasty things on social media to combat them. Not silence the ignorance of foolish people by dismissing them and re-stereotyping them yourself. And I mean in our church history and our Christian history we have the story of deep terrible marginalization and we also have the story of being deep and terrible marginaliz-ers. Peter says, “we silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good. Submit as free people not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as God’s slaves. Honor everyone. Love the brothers and sisters. Fear God. Honor the Emperor.” This is what Peter is suggesting our normal lives should look like. This is the posture of life. Then he goes on. “Household slaves, submit to your masters with all reverence” Ad let me just stop here for a second, because, you know, slavery is definitely still in the world today, but sort of legalized slavery is not permissible in most of the world, at least most the people who are here today speaking English listening to the Bible. But most of us have a job and most of us have a boss and we have an environment that we have to do our work in. And, so, while we have freedom to go find a different job if we can find one, if we find ourselves in a bad situation. Most of us have to work for a living, to buy food and gasoline, and shelter etc. etc. So, if we put ourselves in that frame of mind then we can better understand the posture. “Submit to your masters with all reverence not only to the good and gentle ones but also to the cruel, for it brings favor if because of a consciousness of God someone endures grief from suffering unjustly. For what credit is there if when you do wrong and are beaten, you endure it, right?” If you get what you deserve. Why is that…like is that enduring something? You got what you deserve. And Peter goes on, “but when you do what is good and suffer, if you endure it this brings favor with God. And then Peter just simply goes on to say, look, this is the example of Christ. This is how He lived. And, so, therefore this is how we are to live. So, he’s touching are generalized and the temptations of our lives and is telling us to avoid, to abstain from things that will do war against our souls and to not be the stereotype when we are stereotyped to rise up and be who we really are to simply be better than that. People can say a lot of things, but character ultimately shines and brings glory to God. And if we are marginalized and if we do have to suffer injustice in some sort of way how we deal with that actually matters. When we understand that we are enduring something that we may be receiving something that is not just but we are enduring for the sake of Jesus and the sake of the world and the sake of the gospel to stand there and be the light, despite what comes our way we are saying a lot and good is going into the world because of it. And then he moves into the house. “In the same way”, and that’s the important thing here because he’s going to wives and then he’s going to husbands. “In the same way”, so everything we’ve talked about so far. “In the same way wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, so that even if some disobey the word, they may be won over without a word by the way their wives live when they observe your pure, reverent lives.” And he goes on to say, like, you know, making yourself beautiful on the outside, that may be fine and good but that’s not the thing. That's…that’s not who you are. It’s what’s inside your heart. “Develop an imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” And then he moves to husbands. “Husbands, in the same way”, so living this comprehensive posture of faith in this world, “in the same way”, everything that we’ve been talking about, “live with your wives in an understanding way as with the weaker partner showing them honor as co-heirs of the grace of life so that your prayers will not be hindered.” Man, there’s so much there. We could go back through and through and through and apply it to our own lives, but there is a posture here, a way of living that we are to espouse because it is a godly way to live, so that our prayers will not be hindered. Man, that would explain a lot wouldn’t it if we took some time to do inventory in our own lives? Is Peter describing what our lives look like? Because he's…he’s describing a flow of life, a posture that we live within, a way that we look at the world that not only tells us what we’re doing and why, in our own lives, but also the big picture of what is going on. And, so, there’s plenty for us to think about on this Thanksgiving Day as we move through the festivities. And this posture of life that’s being laid out in first Peter may very well be challenged on this very very day, but we’ve been given some advanced words. We can go back to it, maybe read it differently. I mean, you can go back to First Peter two and read it yourself and apply it to yourself this day, but we are being given tools today that can be put into practice today and then should be put into practice tomorrow and all throughout the holiday season into next year and for the rest of our lives. This is the shape of life according to the apostle Peter. And fundamentally, Peter is simply saying what we’ve been being told all along. Imitate Jesus. That’s how you do this. That’s how life is supposed to look. Imitate Jesus.

Prayer:

Father, we invite You into that. We confess that sometimes we do, and we confess that sometimes we don’t. And there are many challenges that come our way and all kinds of things swirling around us and most of the time we’re not paying attention until after we’ve acted. And we’re just asking for Your help. Even this very day, asking for Your help that we take a pause, we take a beat, we re-center ourselves in You understanding that what we do and what we say represents who You are. Holy Spirit, help us to feel the gravity of that as we give thanks. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Ezekiel 47-48

The Life-Giving River

47 Then he brought me back to the entrance of the temple and there was water flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the temple faced east. The water was coming down from under the south side of the threshold of the temple, south of the altar.(A) Next he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate that faced east; there the water was trickling from the south side. As the man went out east with a measuring line in his hand,(B) he measured off a third of a mile[a] and led me through the water. It came up to my ankles. Then he measured off a third of a mile and led me through the water. It came up to my knees. He measured off another third of a mile and led me through the water. It came up to my waist. Again he measured off a third of a mile, and it was a river that I could not cross on foot. For the water had risen; it was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be crossed on foot.

He asked me, “Do you see this, son of man?” Then he led me back to the bank of the river. When I had returned, I saw a very large number of trees along both sides of the riverbank.(C) He said to me, “This water flows out to the eastern region and goes down to the Arabah. When it enters the sea, the sea of foul water,[b][c] the water of the sea becomes fresh.(D) Every kind of living creature that swarms will live wherever the river flows,[d] and there will be a huge number of fish because this water goes there. Since the water will become fresh, there will be life everywhere the river goes. 10 Fishermen will stand beside it from En-gedi to En-eglaim.[e] These will become places where nets are spread out to dry. Their fish will consist of many different kinds, like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea.(E) 11 Yet its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be left for salt. 12 All kinds of trees providing food will grow along both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail.(F) Each month they will bear fresh fruit because the water comes from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be used for eating and their leaves for healing.”(G)

The Borders of the Land

13 This is what the Lord God says: “This is[f] the border you will use to divide the land(H) as an inheritance for the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph will receive two shares.(I) 14 You will inherit it in equal portions, since I swore[g] to give it to your ancestors.(J) So this land will fall to you as an inheritance.

15 This is to be the border of the land:

On the north side(K) it will extend from the Mediterranean Sea by way of Hethlon and Lebo-hamath to Zedad,[h] 16 Berothah, and Sibraim (which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath), as far as Hazer-hatticon, which is on the border of Hauran. 17 So the border will run from the sea to Hazar-enon at the border(L) of Damascus, with the territory of Hamath to the north. This will be the northern side.

18 On the east side it will run between Hauran and Damascus, along the Jordan between Gilead and the land of Israel; you will measure from the northern border to the eastern sea.[i] This will be the eastern side.

19 On the south side it will run from Tamar to the Waters of Meribath-kadesh,[j] and on to the Brook of Egypt(M) as far as the Mediterranean Sea.(N) This will be the southern side.

20 On the west side the Mediterranean Sea will be the border, from the southern border up to a point opposite Lebo-hamath. This will be the western side.

21 “You are to divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel.(O) 22 You will allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens residing among you,(P) who have fathered children among you. You will treat them[k] like native-born Israelites; along with you, they will be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. 23 In whatever tribe the alien resides, you will assign his inheritance there.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

The Tribal Allotments

48 “Now these are the names of the tribes:

From the northern end, along the road of Hethlon, to Lebo-hamath as far as Hazar-enon, at the northern border of Damascus, alongside Hamath and extending from the eastern side to the sea, will be Dan—one portion.

Next to the territory of Dan, from the east side to the west, will be Asher—one portion.

Next to the territory of Asher, from the east side to the west, will be Naphtali—one portion.

Next to the territory of Naphtali, from the east side to the west, will be Manasseh—one portion.

Next to the territory of Manasseh, from the east side to the west, will be Ephraim—one portion.

Next to the territory of Ephraim, from the east side to the west, will be Reuben—one portion.

Next to the territory of Reuben, from the east side to the west, will be Judah—one portion.

“Next to the territory of Judah, from the east side to the west, will be the portion you donate to the Lord, 8⅓ miles[l] wide, and as long as one of the tribal portions from the east side to the west.(Q) The sanctuary will be in the middle of it.

“The special portion you donate to the Lord will be 8⅓ miles long and 3⅓ miles[m] wide. 10 This holy donation will be set apart for the priests alone. It will be 8⅓ miles long on the northern side, 3⅓ miles wide on the western side, 3⅓ miles wide on the eastern side, and 8⅓ miles long on the southern side. The Lord’s sanctuary will be in the middle of it. 11 It is for the consecrated priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept my charge(R) and did not go astray as the Levites did when the Israelites went astray. 12 It will be a special donation for them out of the holy donation of the land, a most holy place adjacent to the territory of the Levites.

13 “Next to the territory of the priests, the Levites will have an area 8⅓ miles long and 3⅓ miles wide. The total length will be 8⅓ miles and the width 3⅓ miles.(S) 14 They must not sell or exchange any of it, and they must not transfer this choice part of the land, for it is holy to the Lord.(T)

15 “The remaining area, 1⅔ miles[n] wide and 8⅓ miles long, will be for common use by the city,(U) for both residential and open space. The city will be in the middle of it. 16 These are the city’s measurements:

1½ miles[o] on the north side;

1½ miles on the south side;

1½ miles on the east side;

and 1½ miles on the west side.

17 The city’s open space will extend:

425 feet[p] to the north,

425 feet to the south,

425 feet to the east,

and 425 feet to the west.

18 “The remainder of the length alongside the holy donation will be 3⅓ miles to the east and 3⅓ miles to the west. It will run alongside the holy donation. Its produce will be food for the workers of the city. 19 The city’s workers from all the tribes of Israel will cultivate it.(V) 20 The entire donation will be 8⅓ miles by 8⅓ miles; you are to set apart the holy donation along with the city property as a square area.

21 “The remaining area on both sides of the holy donation and the city property will belong to the prince.(W) He will own the land adjacent to the tribal portions, next to the 8⅓ miles of the donation as far as the eastern border and[q] next to the 8⅓ miles of the donation as far as the western border. The holy donation and the sanctuary of the temple will be in the middle of it. 22 Except for the Levitical property and the city property in the middle of the area belonging to the prince, the area between the territory of Judah and that of Benjamin will belong to the prince.(X)

23 “As for the rest of the tribes:

From the east side to the west, will be Benjamin—one portion.

24 Next to the territory of Benjamin, from the east side to the west, will be Simeon—one portion.

25 Next to the territory of Simeon, from the east side to the west, will be Issachar—one portion.

26 Next to the territory of Issachar, from the east side to the west, will be Zebulun—one portion.

27 Next to the territory of Zebulun, from the east side to the west, will be Gad—one portion.

28 Next to the territory of Gad toward the south side, the border will run from Tamar to the Waters(Y) of Meribath-kadesh, to the Brook of Egypt, and out to the Mediterranean Sea. 29 This is the land you are to allot as an inheritance to Israel’s tribes,(Z) and these will be their portions.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

The New City

30 “These are the exits of the city:

On the north side, which measures 1½ miles, 31 there will be three gates facing north, the gates of the city being named for the tribes of Israel: one, the gate of Reuben; one, the gate of Judah; and one, the gate of Levi.

32 On the east side, which is 1½ miles, there will be three gates: one, the gate of Joseph; one, the gate of Benjamin; and one, the gate of Dan.

33 On the south side, which measures 1½ miles, there will be three gates: one, the gate of Simeon; one, the gate of Issachar; and one, the gate of Zebulun.

34 On the west side, which is 1½ miles, there will be three gates: one, the gate of Gad; one, the gate of Asher; and one, the gate of Naphtali.

35 The perimeter of the city will be six miles,[r] and the name of the city from that day on will be The Lord Is There.”(AA)

1 Peter 2:11-3:7

A Call to Good Works

11 Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and exiles(A) to abstain(B) from sinful(C) desires that wage war against the soul.(D) 12 Conduct(E) yourselves honorably among the Gentiles,[a] so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits.(F)

13 Submit(G) to every human authority because of the Lord, whether to the emperor[b] as the supreme authority(H) 14 or to governors as those sent out by him to punish those who do what is evil and to praise those who do what is good. 15 For it is God’s will(I) that you silence the ignorance(J) of foolish people by doing good. 16 Submit as free people, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil,(K) but as God’s slaves.(L) 17 Honor everyone. Love(M) the brothers and sisters.(N) Fear God.(O) Honor the emperor.

Submission of Slaves to Masters

18 Household slaves, submit to your masters(P) with all reverence(Q) not only to the good and gentle ones but also to the cruel.(R) 19 For it brings favor if, because of a consciousness of God, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly. 20 For what credit is there if when you do wrong and are beaten, you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer,(S) if you endure it, this brings favor with God.

21 For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered(T) for you, leaving you an example,(U) that you should follow(V) in his steps. 22 He did not commit sin,(W) and no deceit(X) was found in his mouth;[c](Y) 23 when he was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges(Z) justly. 24 He himself bore our sins(AA) in his body(AB) on the tree;(AC) so that, having died to sins,(AD) we might live for righteousness.(AE) By his wounds[d](AF) you have been healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray,[e](AG) but you have now returned to the Shepherd(AH) and Overseer[f] of your souls.

Wives and Husbands

In the same way, wives,(AI) submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, even if some disobey the word,(AJ) they may be won over(AK) without a word by the way their wives live(AL) when they observe your pure, reverent lives.(AM) Don’t let your beauty consist of outward things like elaborate hairstyles and wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes,(AN) but rather what is inside the heart[g](AO)—the imperishable quality of a gentle(AP) and quiet(AQ) spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. For in the past, the holy(AR) women who put their hope(AS) in God also adorned themselves in this way, submitting to their own husbands, just as Sarah(AT) obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. You have become her children when you do what is good and do not fear any intimidation.(AU)

Husbands,(AV) in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker partner,(AW) showing them honor as coheirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.

Ezekiel 45:13-46:24, 1 Peter 1:13-2:10, Psalm 119:33-48, Proverbs 28:11

Today is the 23rd day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian and it’s wonderful to be here with you around the Global Campfire today as we gather and move forward together. Another step forward in front of us. And our next step forward will lead us back into the book of Ezekiel. We are nearing the end of the book of Ezekiel, couple more days. And then yesterday, we began first Peter which we will continue forward in today. We’re reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week. Today, Ezekiel chapter 45 verse 13 through 46 verse 24.

Commentary:

Okay so, here in the United States of America tomorrow, is Thanksgiving Day, that is a really, really major holiday here in this country. And then the day following that, is called Black Friday and everybody shops and shops and shops, right. And it’s Christmas season from that point forward. So were in a time of year, we’ve mentioned it a couple of times along the way, like things speed up, our rhythms shift and change. And most of that’s been said in the context of finishing well, like, day-by-day, step-by-step. This is how we will finish well and that the Scriptures are there in the chaos, if we hadn’t figured that out yet. Like, we see the chaos in the Bible, and we see God working among it. And then we see in our own lives, how disrupted things can be, and the Scriptures are there to lead and guide us and give us perspective. And so, we have some perspective, from Peter’s letter, known as first Peter, today. Although Peter wasn’t making any kind of commentary on, you know, the holiday traditions that may exist in the world 2000 years in the future. He’s speaking about what every day Christian life should look like, but he did say some things today that are particularly poignant for the season that we actually are heading into, 2000 years in the future, celebrating the holidays that we celebrate now. I mean, you just watch, if you got to make a bunch of trips to the grocery store because you’re trying to cook your Thanksgiving dinner and you find things are not in stock. I mean, this can be crazy. Or trying to find a parking place and fighting for your parking place at the grocery store, at the mall or wherever. And then it only amp up right, it’s gonna be Christmas season and we will have goodwill toward all people, like that just ascends upon the earth. But underneath that, we still are trying to not have to walk 4 miles to get to the mall, we really want that front parking place and if we can get it, we’re gonna take it. And if we were about to pull into it and somebody took it from us, well, peace on earth, goodwill toward men, takes on a different complexion. So, if we think about how chaotic it can get to try to come up with a budget for the holiday season and buy everything and run everywhere, and park here and go there and interact with these people and let’s not even get started on family traveling in from out of town and just how we can all get together and be so joyous, that we’re finally together as a family and it’s been a while, and it’s so good to be here and how quickly we just fall into the role that we’ve always played in our family. And it’s so easy for the jokes and the kind of ridicule, and the kind of stuff that all happened when we were kids to just materialize because we don’t know it any other way. But it’s amping things up inside of us, making us feel anxiety and the swirl inside of us. Peter kinda speaks words that are really, really helpful for this season, and I quote, “as obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance, but as the One who called you is Holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct. For it is written, be holy, because I am Holy.” So, again, Peter’s not talking about the holiday season in years that are millennia from when he wrote this letter. He’s talking about what our every day is supposed to look like. But there isn’t really a better time to get into that rhythm and practice this stuff, than the times that we find that our rhythms are disrupted. Think about it. You’re making stuffing in the kitchen. The cousins are running all over the place. Your siblings are in and out, everybody’s saying what they’re saying, somebody says something a little sideways about the stuffing. Oh, that doesn’t … I don’t know if you put enough sage in that. And how easily we can just flip over into a different…different zone and just start fighting back or holding bitterness in our hearts. We get, I mean, I can’t even think of how many examples we could use. Anything from stolen parking places, the family feuds. We can feel like we have walked with the Holy Spirit during this year, and he has grown us so much and we are so in a different place than we were when the beginning of the year started, but we can be around that table and something gets said and we’re just, it’s like we’re a little kid again. Just trapped in a place that we left a long, long time ago, but pulled right back into. And it’s very, very easy for us to retaliate, even if we don’t say anything out loud, we’re like, thinking it, but maybe we’re saying it. But maybe we should say something, before we say anything. Maybe we should say, you must be holy, because I am Holy. Like, what would that change? If the voice of criticism or ridicule comes our way and our reaction is typically to ball up our fists and start swinging. Right, or to start spewing angry, hurtful words. Just a small pause, you must be holy, because I am Holy, immediately resets are posture. And Peter says some other things that are supposed to be our normal everyday life but also, give us a particularly good opportunity to practice them as we’re in this, disrupted season. So, Peter says, since you have purified yourselves by your obedience to the truth, so that you show sincere brotherly love for each other, from a pure heart love one another constantly, because you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. So, if we’re sitting around the table and I don’t know, easy things to talk about like politics comes up and we’re hearing things that we don’t ascribe to or like that this is about to blow up, like the Thanksgiving table is about to be set on fire. But remembering you must be holy, because I am holy, can rescue us. Remembering what we just read, from a pure heart, love one another constantly or from our reading today, rid yourselves of all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy and all slander, like newborn infants desire the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow up into your salvation. So much there just from a little bit that we read today from this letter that can be applied to the season that we’re in because it’s supposed to be applied to the totality of our lives. And the beautiful thing is that, as we continue through, from now through the end of the year, almost every day, we’re going to be given things from the Scriptures that we need to live through the day, to navigate the day properly, if we’re paying attention, just like today. So, let’s take these things to heart, brothers and sisters, because we can change the complexion of what this holiday season looks like in our families. Like, we’re out in front and it’s just like when we come to the beginning of a shiny, sparkly, new week every week and we talk about how it’s all out in front of us and nothing good or bad has happened yet and the choices that we make, and the words that we say, and the actions that we commit, that will tell the story of the week. It’s the same for us now in this season, our thoughts, words and deeds will tell what the story of the holiday season this year is going to look like. Maybe we can sit around waiting for things to happen and maybe we just react to those things. Or maybe we decide, in advance, to love deeply, to rid ourselves of all malice and deceit, to not be an actor are a hypocrite, to not envy, not slander people, but rather to be like a newborn infant desiring the pure milk of the word. If we decide in advance and commit to a course of action that will allow us to be obedient to what is being told to us in the Scriptures; we will bring good into all the situations that we encounter. And if we get blindsided and we’re about to fall into an old trap, just remember, you must be holy, because I am holy, can reset us. And so, let’s put it into practice.

Prayer:

And father, we are coming into a busy season. We are indeed coming into a time when we need to put this into practice, but this should be our daily practice. And if it hasn’t been our daily practice, then we ask for Your forgiveness. We’re starting to practice right now and we’re going to practice through a season that’s going to give us plenty of opportunity to practice and then we’re gonna keep practicing, because You will lead us into all truth and it is Your desire that your sons and daughters grow up and be mature in Your kingdom, representing You as an ambassador in this world, being a witness to the light. This is our desire, that we be a witness to the light and the light will not be overcome by the darkness, because we are choosing in advance to not go into the darkness. Holy Spirit, come, we will not do this on our own and succeed. We don’t do anything on our own and succeed, we need Your help, and we ask for it and we rejoice in it in advance and thank You for it in advance. So, that we can sit back, move forward and watch You at work in our lives. Come Holy Spirit, we pray in the name of Jesus into this season. Amen.

Announcements:

dailyaudiobible.com is home base, it is the website, it is where you can find out what’s going on around here. And so, what is going on around here. So, if you live in the United States. Then tomorrow will be a national holiday that we call Thanksgiving. And there are Thanksgiving celebrations and gratitude celebrations throughout the earth. This just happens to be the one happening in the country that I live in. And what happens is, we have Thanksgiving and then the day after Thanksgiving is black Friday. And so, like all day during Thanksgiving Day, will be being festive and enjoying our families and doing whatever were gonna do. Meanwhile our inboxes are getting cram full of Black Friday deals, so that we get in the swing of things. And I just want to be out in front of that and just let you know that the Daily Audio Bible Christmas Box for the year 2022, is now available now. Now, like you go to dailyaudiobible.com or go into the app and go to the Daily Audio Bible Shop and you will find a Christmas Section there and in the Christmas Section you will find the annual Daily Audio Bible family Christmas box. This is the biggest, I think the biggest we’ve packed this one this year. We have for the very first time in the Christmas box this year, Promised Land, Photographs from the Land of the Bible, which is a beautiful photographic journey through the land of the Bible. It’s like a coffee table size addition. It’s something that is displayable in your home and a joy to kind of peruse as we’re going through the Bible. So, that is in the Christmas box this year. The God of Your Story is also included in the Christmas box this year. So, Promised Land and The God of Your Story both beautiful, hardbound, high-quality additions in the Christmas box this year. We are also including Reframe: From the God We’ve Made to God with Us, which is another written resource that that I’ve been able to write. As well as Sneezing Jesus, How God Redeems our Humanity. So, we’ve been able to put all of those together in the…in the Christmas box for the first time. So that’s exciting. Also, your choice of wind farm DAB blend coffee or we’re doing honey bush and ribose tea this year. So, your choice coffee or tea. We have the Global Campfire candle in the Christmas box this year. Love this candle, loved a couple years ago working with a perfumer, just like getting the aroma right so, that it would smell like a candle, but it would smell like a campfire, I just, yeah, the Global Campfire, just kind of bringing it right…right in, as we move through the Scriptures each day. So, the Global Campfire candle is in the Christmas box this year. The Daily Audio Bible 2022 Christmas Ornaments, with our word for the year, Rooted, on it, is in the Christmas box. And you can only get the ornaments in the Christmas box. And we have, well I have a tree, that has all of the different years going back to when we began ornaments, probably a decade ago now. And, so each year, I put a new ornament on my tree. I look at those ornaments and I’m humbled by them because each one of them represents a year in community, in the Bible. So easy to look at an ornament go well, that represents a year, even though that took a whole year to navigate. And all of the issues of life, that come in a year but it’s nice to be able to look at it and go, we’re still here, we made it through another year. So, the 2022 ornament, is in the Christmas box this year, as well as a Global Campfire pop socket, for your, well, whatever it is you need a pop socket for, for your phone, for your tablet, little way to hold it in your hand, a little way to keep it in your hand, if you are the pop socket type that’s in the Christmas box. And then two Global Campfire stickers, to put wherever…wherever you like. So, it is a jampacked full Christmas box this year. Super-duper excited. I remember when we went through COVID and trying to figure out how we would even do a Christmas box. And then being able to get back to it last year, but this this year, we’ve got it all planned out and packed full and so excited for that. You can find the Christmas box for 2022 in the Christmas section of either a dailyaudiobible.com or by going to the Shop from within the Daily Audio Bible app, and you should have no problem finding it. So, check that out.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible. Thank you, humbly, we wouldn’t be here, we wouldn’t be around a Global Campfire, if we were not in this together and so thank you, humbly for your partnership. There is a link on the homepage at dailyaudiobible.com. If you’re using the app, you can press the Give button in the upper right-hand corner or the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996 Springhill, Tennessee 37174.

And as always, if ever prayer request or encouragement, you can hit the Hotline button in the app, that’s the little red button up at the top or you can dial 877-942-4253.

And that’s it for today, I’m Brian, I love you and I’ll be waiting for you here, tomorrow.

Prayer and Encouragements:

Father, I come humbly and prayer before your throne, once again
Because you’re all mighty God and the deliverer of all men
There is so many people among us who are hurting and in pain
With very serious problems Father, with few options, there tears fall like rain
You said you’re keeping a skin bag, each and every one of our tears
You said every hair on our head is numbered and you know the sum of all our hairs
You said you’ve written down in your book, every one of our parts, before even one of them was ever formed and only you know our hearts
And on top of that you offered us adoption as sons, once our hearts had been conformed
So, we come to you through Jesus humble, tired and worn
Walking by faith, to this place that we consider to be safe
But then we have all these problems that don’t go away
Even though we cry out to you day-after-day
Like people with cancer, people who need a liver
And so many other problems father from which only you can deliver
Strengthen us Father so we can endure to the end
And if our faith gets a little bit shaky, please revive us again
And help us to see that when we’re under such strong attack
That it’s really just the wicked ones, trying hard to turn us back
Help us Father, to commit ourselves anew
Help us to surrender all, everyday unto you
blindtony1016@gmail.com I’d like to give a shout out to Sherlock Washington on the Case, know you’re very much loved, prayed for daily and thought of often. And once again Brian and the Hardin Family, thank you for this wonderful podcast for God’s Holy Spirit to flow, keep it flowing ya’ll. Alright, bye bye.

Good morning Daily Audio Bible. I am a member of the Daily Audio Bible and I’ve been a member since 2011 but this is just the second time, I got a chance to call in. Just wanted to touch bases with everyone and let you know I am fighting with you and praying daily. And I might not call in but I’m sending prayers us for each and every one. But this morning, I have a prayer request. Well, I call myself Waters in Virginia. Well, this morning I wake up and I have swelling all in my lower cheek. I’ve had this going on and off for about two months, maybe a little longer. And I went to doctors and they don’t know what it is. They say that it’s nothing to be worried about. Not allergy because we went through the allergy testing. But not the allergy but they actually do the allergy puncture where they do samples. They just did blood tests. But anyway, I want you guys to keep me in prayer that the Lord, I’m believing God for my healing. And I’m thanking him and praising him each and every day. I know God is an answer to all things. And prayer can never fail meaning. Just want you to keep me in prayer, that this healing ceases in the name of Jesus. And my health be restored. And I’m praying that everyone be blessed. All the calls that call in, I’m praying with you. Can’t just name each and every one of you right now. But I am with you and I know God is with all of us and God is the healer and I know God is with us and in us and we just believe, receive from God. Have a blessed day in the name of Jesus. Thank you.

Hello, my Daily Audio Family. I’m listening to all the prayer requests. It breaks my heart to hear so many that I need, the girl that’s sad. And she’s tired of being sad. I pray God, that You, in Jesus name, give her the joy of the Lord. That You’ll let her know, Father, show her Lord, why she is so sad, Father God. Father, speak to her rest, she sleeps Father God. And resting, Holy Spirit, speak to her life. Father, breath joy in her life, Father. In Jesus name. I pray for the husband who’s in that big, that has a bad addiction to drugs. Lord God, I pray that You speak to him as he sleeps, as he rests and he’ll hear your voice, Father. Heal him, show him your way, Father. Make a way Father God. To all of my friends that are with Christ in Prayer, the Father. I ask you this in Jesus name. There’s nothing impossible for you, dear Father. You sent Jesus to cure the sick, to heal them all, to rescue them, to restore them, Father God. Give them the joy of salvation, Father. Reach down to those that are in need, Father God. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

Hi Shawn, I heard you and you are in my prayers. I battled addiction from 26 years old, to 41 years old, so 15 years. In my experience, and to overcome, I did four things. I stopped drinking because even the more we drink, led to drug use. This required a mindset change. I also had the support system, in my case, my wife, who assisted me to understand the reasons for my actions: past trauma, lifestyle and so on. Three, I changed the places I went to and I adopted a healthier lifestyle. I exercised frequently and felt more joy. I stopped going to locations that drug use. For example, bars, until I had the strength. I diligently studied the Bible, using the DAB platform and to apply it to my life. I have now been sober for over three years. I never felt better. I wish the same for you brother. God bless.

Good morning, this is Nobody Gets Left Behind, in Colorado. I’m thankful for all my DAB family, the multitude from around the world. That we’ll gather one day before the throne of our Father God, a throne near the sea of glass, with our mighty King Jesus, seated at his right hand. I have a praise report for you. My brother Jeremy was freed from prison, he was there for almost 20 years. He’s now able to listen to the DAB every morning with me. We get to Bible study in fellowship and go over it together. I also wanted to let you know that my daughter Halo, she’s being recorded in a music studio. She’s singing worship music that God gave me to write. I also want to give a praise report for the Wednesday Bible group that we have, that’s based off the DAB studies. It’s still going strong. Shout out to all my brothers and sisters in Colorado that are in that group that are listening. I did want to thank the gentlemen that said the prayer for the baby Storm, that has cancer. Brother, your prayer and your words just touched my heart. I just want you to know I’m very thankful for that. I’m thankful for all of your words and prayers family. It just always touches my heart; it always just fills me with so much love and gratitude. I do have one quick praise or prayer request. If you can please pray for my mother Katherine who’s been homeless since January. She lives in a tent. It’s pretty cold here in Colorado now, below freezing. And every day I wake up, I just pray that she’s not dead. But if you could just pray for that, I would really appreciate that. I love you guys so much. Until next time.

The Daily Audio Bible Reading for Wednesday November 23, 2022 (NIV)

Ezekiel 45:13-46:24

The People’s Contribution to the Sacrifices

13 “This is the contribution you are to offer: Three quarts[a] from six bushels[b] of wheat and[c] three quarts from six bushels of barley. 14 The quota of oil in liquid measures[d] will be one percent of every[e] cor. The cor equals ten liquid measures or one standard larger capacity measure,[f] since ten liquid measures equal one standard larger capacity measure. 15 And the quota from the flock is one animal out of every two hundred from the well-watered pastures of Israel. These are for the grain offerings, burnt offerings, and fellowship offerings, to make atonement for the people.”(A) This is the declaration of the Lord God. 16 “All the people of the land must take part in this contribution for the prince in Israel. 17 Then the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings for the festivals, New Moons, and Sabbaths—for all the appointed times of the house of Israel—will be the prince’s responsibility. He will provide the sin offerings, grain offerings, burnt offerings, and fellowship offerings to make atonement on behalf of the house of Israel.

18 “This is what the Lord God says: In the first month, on the first day of the month, you are to take a young, unblemished bull and purify the sanctuary. 19 The priest is to take some of the blood from the sin offering and apply it to the temple doorposts, the four corners of the altar’s ledge, and the doorposts of the gate of the inner court.(B) 20 You are to do the same thing on the seventh day of the month for everyone who sins unintentionally or through ignorance.(C) In this way you will make atonement for the temple.

21 “In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you are to celebrate the Passover, a festival of seven days during which unleavened bread will be eaten.(D) 22 On that day the prince will provide a bull as a sin offering on behalf of himself and all the people of the land. 23 During the seven days of the festival, he will provide seven bulls and seven rams without blemish as a burnt offering to the Lord on each of the seven days, along with a male goat each day for a sin offering. 24 He will also provide a grain offering of half a bushel[g] per bull and half a bushel per ram, along with a gallon[h] of oil for every half bushel. 25 At the festival that begins on the fifteenth day of the seventh month,[i](E) he will provide the same things for seven days—the same sin offerings, burnt offerings, grain offerings, and oil.

Sacrifices at Appointed Times

46 “This is what the Lord God says: The gate of the inner court that faces east is to be closed during the six days of work, but it will be opened on the Sabbath day(F) and opened on the day of the New Moon. The prince should enter from the outside by way of the gate’s portico and stand at the gate’s doorpost while the priests sacrifice his burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. He will bow in worship at the gate’s threshold and then depart, but the gate is not to be closed until evening. The people of the land will also bow in worship before the Lord at the entrance of that gate on the Sabbaths and New Moons.

“The burnt offering that the prince presents to the Lord(G) on the Sabbath day is to be six unblemished lambs(H) and an unblemished ram. The grain offering will be half a bushel[j] with the ram,(I) and the grain offering with the lambs will be whatever he wants to give, as well as a gallon[k] of oil for every half bushel. On the day of the New Moon, the burnt offering is to be a young, unblemished bull, as well as six lambs and a ram without blemish. He will provide a grain offering of half a bushel with the bull, half a bushel with the ram, and whatever he can afford with the lambs, together with a gallon of oil for every half bushel. When the prince enters,(J) he is to go in by way of the gate’s portico and go out the same way.

“When the people of the land come before the Lord at the appointed times,[l](K) whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship is to go out by way of the south gate, and whoever enters by way of the south gate is to go out by way of the north gate. No one may return through the gate by which he entered, but is to go out by the opposite gate. 10 When the people enter, the prince will enter with them, and when they leave, he will leave. 11 At the festivals and appointed times, the grain offering will be half a bushel with the bull, half a bushel with the ram, and whatever he wants to give with the lambs, along with a gallon of oil for every half bushel.

12 “When the prince makes a freewill offering, whether a burnt offering or a fellowship offering as a freewill offering to the Lord,(L) the gate that faces east is to be opened for him. He is to offer his burnt offering or fellowship offering just as he does on the Sabbath day. Then he will go out, and the gate is to be closed after he leaves.

13 “You are to offer an unblemished year-old male lamb as a daily burnt offering to the Lord; you will offer it every morning.(M) 14 You are also to prepare a grain offering every morning along with it: three quarts,[m] with one-third of a gallon[n] of oil to moisten the fine flour—a grain offering to the Lord. This is a permanent statute to be observed regularly. 15 They will offer the lamb, the grain offering, and the oil every morning as a regular burnt offering.

Transfer of Royal Lands

16 “This is what the Lord God says: If the prince gives a gift to each of his sons as their inheritance, it will belong to his sons. It will become their property by inheritance. 17 But if he gives a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, it will belong to that servant until the year of freedom,(N) when it will revert to the prince. His inheritance belongs only to his sons; it is theirs. 18 The prince must not take any of the people’s inheritance, evicting them from their property.(O) He is to provide an inheritance for his sons from his own property, so that none of my people will be displaced from his own property.”

The Temple Kitchens

19 Then he brought me through the entrance(P) that was at the side of the gate, into the priests’ holy chambers, which faced north. I saw a place there at the far western end. 20 He said to me, “This is the place where the priests will boil the guilt offering and the sin offering,(Q) and where they will bake the grain offering,(R) so that they do not bring them into the outer court and transmit holiness to the people.” 21 Next he brought me into the outer court and led me past its four corners. There was a separate court in each of its corners. 22 In the four corners of the outer court there were enclosed[o] courts, 70 feet[p] long by 52½ feet[q] wide. All four corner areas had the same dimensions. 23 There was a stone wall[r] around the inside of them, around the four of them, with ovens built at the base of the walls on all sides. 24 He said to me, “These are the kitchens where those who minister at the temple will cook the people’s sacrifices.”

A Call to Holy Living

13 Therefore, with your minds ready for action,(A) be sober-minded(B) and set your hope(C) completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation(D) of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children,(E) do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance. 15 But as the one who called you(F) is holy,(G) you also are to be holy in all your conduct; 16 for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.[a](H) 17 If you appeal to the Father who judges impartially(I) according to each one’s work,(J) you are to conduct yourselves in reverence(K) during your time living as strangers. 18 For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life(L) inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold,(M) 19 but with the precious blood of Christ,(N) like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb.(O) 20 He was foreknown(P) before the foundation of the world but was revealed in these last times(Q) for you. 21 Through him you believe in God,(R) who raised him from the dead(S) and gave him glory,(T) so that your faith and hope are in God.

22 Since you have purified yourselves by your obedience to the truth,[b] so that you show sincere brotherly love for each other,(U) from a pure[c] heart love one another constantly,[d](V) 23 because you have been born again(W)—not of perishable seed(X) but of imperishable—through the living and enduring word of God.(Y) 24 For

All flesh is like grass,
and all its glory(Z) like a flower of the grass.
The grass withers, and the flower falls,
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.[e](AA)

And this word is the gospel that was proclaimed to you.

The Living Stone and a Holy People

Therefore, rid yourselves of(AB) all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all slander.(AC) Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word,[f](AD) so that by it you may grow up into your salvation, if you have tasted(AE) that the Lord is good.[g](AF) As you come to him, a living stone—rejected by people but chosen and honored by[h] God— you yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood[i] to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God(AG) through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture:

See, I lay a stone in Zion,(AH)
a chosen and honored[j] cornerstone,(AI)
and the one who believes in him
will never be put to shame.[k](AJ)

So honor will come to you who believe; but for the unbelieving,

The stone that the builders rejected—
this one has become the cornerstone,[l](AK)

and

A stone to stumble over,
and a rock to trip over.[m](AL)

They stumble because they disobey the word; they were destined(AM) for this.

But you are a chosen race,[n][o](AN) a royal priesthood,[p](AO) a holy nation,[q](AP) a people for his possession,[r](AQ) so that you may proclaim the praises[s][t](AR) of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.(AS) 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy,(AT) but now you have received mercy.

Ezekiel 44:1-45:12, 1 Peter 1:1-12, Psalms 119:17-32, Proverbs 28:8-10

Today is the 22nd day of November welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I am Brian it is great to be here with you all cozy around the Global Campfire as we move forward together like every day the next step forward. That step forward will lead us back into the book of Ezekiel in the Old Testament, and then we get to the New Testament we have some brand-new territory to move into, the letters of Peter. And, of course, we’ll begin with first Peter, and we’ll talk about that when we get there. But first, we’re reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week. And today Ezekiel chapter 44 verse 1 through 45 verse 12.

Introduction to First Peter:

Okay. So, this brings us to our New Testament reading for today and it’s new territory that we are moving into, first Peter. And, so, like Peter is not somebody we don’t know. In fact, Peter’ somebody that we kind of met at the very beginning of the year and he was one of the disciples of Jesus. And, so, we followed along with Jesus and Peter was there many many times and many many famous stories include Peter in the Gospels. And then we get to the book of Acts, and we learned more about Peter’s transformation and how it was that he kind of move from a fisherman into a very very powerful speaker and ambassador for the kingdom and church leader. And, so, we know who Peter is and we know some of his comings and goings but this is going to be the first time that we can hear his passion in a written form, And if we’re still kind of getting over James, which we just went through. And James, kinda comes out of nowhere and smacks us upside the head and says basically you can’t read a script. If you’ve been given a Christian script and you’re reading the lines but you’re just acting, like you’re an actor carrying out the script, that’s nothing. Your changed life tells the truth about who you are, not so much what you say. Anybody can say anything, among other things that James had to tell us. So, if we’re still kinda moving past that going, wow, that was a spanking, we remember getting to know Peter a bit in the Gospels. We know that he can be feisty. So, it’s like we’re ready to dish out a second helping of what James was teaching, and we will have some more direct, forthright, look us in the face, look us right in the eyes and tell us the truth coming out of first Peter. And, so, we just need to be ready and embrace that, Now, Peter…Peter’s name is given name was Simon maybe Simeon, Simon Peter, right? But by the time Peter was a part of the inner circle of Jesus disciples Jesus was calling him Cephas. And Cephas in the Aramaic language means rock. And, so, when Aramaic is then translated into the more common Greek of the New Testament the word is Petros. Petros in Greek means rock. And this is how we get to the sort of modern day name Peter. It’s a translation out of the Greek. But having the in the advantage of knowing Peter’s story from the Gospels we know that Peter reached a very very very low moment, denying three times that he knew Jesus, that he even knew Jesus. This is taking place in the courtyard of the high priest as Jesus is being tried, and then subsequently crucified. And, so, we watched this happen to Peter. We watched Peter realize what he was doing and what he had done. We watched him weep in repentance. We watched Jesus by the shores of the Sea of Galilee restore Peter. And we have followed Peter all the way from there to the upper room in Jerusalem where the Holy Spirit came with what appeared to be tongues of fire, the coming of the Holy Spirit. And in the book of Acts we saw that pretty quickly after that. Because people were hearing people in this upper room speak in languages that they understood but not languages that they should be able to speak., And, so they’re saying these guys are just drunk. And it’s Peter that steps forward and says they’re not drunk, it’s 9 o'clock in the morning. And then he proceeds to share the gospel in a very very powerful way. Now, or later in the development of the church, Peter is a church leader. I mean there so many other things we can talk about Peter. Like we’re just skimming the surface of what we know from the New Testament. But this is who Peter is and by the time that he is writing now the church has developed a little bit. And Peter writes this letter and identifies the location as Babylon. Most scholars find that to be synonymous with Rome. And Peter addresses the letter to the chosen people of God who are foreigners living in the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia. And these were provinces of the Roman empire all now located within modern day Turkey. And Peter’s using this term God’s chosen people who are living as foreigners, that’s something that everybody, every Jewish person would’ve understand, understood. Those who had been cast away, moved away, on the way in many exiles in fleeing from persecution looking for safety and peace. Basically, the foreigners in the diaspora, those who had been dispersed all over the world. Peter is forthright, he is direct, he is not afraid to say what he needs to say, but he’s not trying to be mean or condemning. He is trying to be encouraging and lift up those who are suffering because of their faith in Jesus and to encourage them that there is hope. And it’s a glorious hope, but endurance is necessary. Endurance is necessary becomes such an important early church theme that permeates the New Testament, something that so often we think were absolved from. We don’t have to struggle. We have a mighty God. But our brothers and sisters who were founding this movement, they had to endure and endurance is part of the story. And, so, just understanding that it’s a part of the story should reframe the categories in our minds because we think that all hard things are bad things when actually sometimes there just endurance, they’re just things we have to move through. There are lessons there for us to learn. And this is certainly true of the lessons that Peter has for us to learn. And, so, with that we begin. First Peter chapter 1 verses 1 through 12.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father, for Your word. Thank You for this new territory that we are in in the letters of Peter. Holy Spirit, come and lead and guide and direct and correct. Move us forward. Let these letters that are straightforward and forthright speak directly the truth into our lives causing us to change, to repent, to move in new directions. We love You and You have no problem guiding us. We have problems following You. This has been the human story. This is the story that we read of through the Bible. We want to go our own way and then we hate when we get there and then we blame You that we got there. May we follow where You are leading so that wherever we go, we are with You and wherever that ends up that is good. Come Holy Spirit, we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Hello from beautiful Cincinnati OH this is Daniel Johnson junior. I am speaking this to you on Thursday November 17th, 2022. Today 31 years ago I was sick and tired of my life. I repented and made Jesus Lord. And I have worked and been working to make Jesus Lord every day, every moment since that time that I first made Jesus Lord and was baptized. I’ve done good day…good days and then I’ve had other days that are not so good. And more than anything it’s just continual repentance and my hope is that by the time I’m done with my journey it will be sad of me that he made Jesus Lord every day. So, I’m excited about that and of course every day in the Daily Audio Bible when we come to this day I’m reminded that we of this and also the favorite scripture that really goes along with a rebirth day is Psalm 16, which we read today. And I don’t know by heart the NIV version which is what we read today but I know the Message version and verse 12 verse through 14. What can I give back to God for all the blessing He’s poured out on me I will lift high the cup of salvation and follow through and follow the promises I have made to Him. So, Amen Lord, make it so. From beautiful Cincinnati OH this is Daniel Johnson junior God bless you and let’s make it a great day.

Hello DAB family it’s Widespread Jesus oh out of Omaha NE. I was calling regarding a couple prayer requests that I have. First is for my niece. She’s 19 years old. She’s living on her own. She’s having roommate issues where her roommate left her so now, she’s in some financial trouble. She’s having a lot of anxiety, having migraines, you know, filled with stress at that age and she’s seeking wisdom and discernment from me as her uncle, and I want to be there for her, but I don’t know exactly what…what to do for her or how to support her. So, I pray for this whole situation. I pray for relief and breakthrough for her and I pray for wisdom and discernment and for me and the whole situation to help her out. And I also have a prayer request for my job situation. It’s been a pretty struggle lately over the past few months and I have an opportunity to make a pivot within the same company which I do love. So, I really do think this is God’s calling for me but I wanna make sure that it is the right…the right move for me for the future. So, if you could look me up in prayer and that I could have clarity and the decision and I just greatly appreciate the prayers for that. And then also an update on our friend Nick who’s battling liver failure. He’s still in the ICU which is unbelievable. I mean it’s been going on five six months. There’s little progress but not major strides. So, I appreciate continued prayers for him. I thank you DAB family. I love you and I just thank you for all…all the prayers and thank you for this community and I lift up Jesus and all praise and glory to Him. Amen.

Hey DAB family, this is Jasmine calling in from New York. I haven’t called since like September of 2021 the beginning of my junior in high school. And I’m just calling in. This is my senior year in high school at the moment and I’ve been going through the same thing since last school year we’re up strong in my faith and my devotions to God during the summer but once school gets here I start to fall back on it and start to procrastinate only…not only with just getting closer with God and meditating on His word day and night but also with school work because I am a determined student and I’ve been just going through procrastination and even anxiety and low self-esteem, like all of it just hitting in all directions. And I just ask for prayer. I ask you guys to pray for me so that I would be able to just keep walking in faith and have the courage to keep moving and the strength and the…the power that the Lord has given me because I really lost the courage that I’ve had. I don’t…I feel like I don’t have anyone like around me to just uplift me and like brothers and sisters in Christ who just influence me to do what I should be doing. So, I just pray and I thank you guys for…well…I…yeah…I thank you guys for just praying for me and I’ve been praying in the background as well. Like Val in Vegas, you make us…you make me smile every single day and Blind Tony as well. So, I thank you as well. And yeah. Bye

Hi everyone, it’s David from California. I just wanted to say hello to all the DABbers out there. I haven’t called in a while but for some reason it’s been on my mind, and I just have not been able to get it out of my mind. And also, my heart, I think. So, I just want to pray. There's…there’s four people that stand out to me that I just want to pray for two of those. One of those gentlemen and the other one was a woman who one of them said that you wanted to be wiped away from existence and the other woman said she’d wanted to not wake up ever again and the gentleman had said that he’s given, and he’s talked to churches and then he said that he’s doing something wrong and everything else like that. And I just gotta say brother, you know, for…for anybody to say that you’re doing something wrong, even if it’s somebody that’s a pastor or anything like that, yes, we hold them up to a higher standard but they’re still human and they’re still not God and only God can be the one to tell you that. So, I pray for you and the woman who wanted to not ever wake up again, sister I just I pray that God is able to touch you. And then there’s the woman who I’m sorry I’m not remembering your name whose husband passed away at 1:00 o'clock in the morning after a marriage of 41 years who still called in for someone else. Man…I…it just it floors me that that you…you had the heart to call even though your husband had just passed away…

Good evening Daily Audio Bible this is Chris Ann and some of you may have heard my prayers asking for prayers in the past several years and I’m really needing them again. So, on Friday I will be going to court with my husband for our divorce that I’ve been praying for nine years that wouldn’t happen. The Lord stopped it several years ago and nothing happened until he recently and my husband filed papers again. Because everyone may know that he had an affair and left, and I have been faithful and praying and believing and trusting that we can reconcile and come back together. He has been in my life for almost 38 years, and I am absolutely just heartbroken. And as it’s getting closer it’s getting harder and I’m just asking for your prayers that I could get through this and that the Lord would hear my prayers in all of this. And even now still praying for reconciliation but I need prayers to be able to get through this. Thank you and God bless.

The Daily Audio Bible Reading for Tuesday November 22, 2022 (NIV)

Ezekiel 44:1-45:12

The Prince’s Privilege

44 The man then brought me back toward the sanctuary’s outer gate that faced east, and it was closed. The Lord said to me, “This gate will remain closed. It will not be opened, and no one will enter through it, because the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered through it.(A) Therefore it will remain closed. The prince himself will sit in the gate to eat a meal before the Lord.(B) He is to enter by way of the portico(C) of the gate and go out the same way.”

Then the man brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple. I looked, and the glory of the Lord filled his temple.(D) And I fell facedown.(E) The Lord said to me, “Son of man, pay attention;(F) look with your eyes and listen with your ears to everything I tell you about all the statutes and laws of the Lord’s temple.(G) Take careful note of the entrance of the temple along with all the exits of the sanctuary.

The Levites’ Duties and Privileges

“Say to the rebellious people,(H) the house of Israel, ‘This is what the Lord God says: I have had enough(I) of all your detestable practices, house of Israel. When you brought in foreigners,(J) uncircumcised in both heart and flesh,(K) to occupy my sanctuary, you defiled my temple while you offered my food—the fat and the blood. You[a] broke my covenant by all your detestable practices. You have not kept charge of my holy things(L) but have appointed others to keep charge of my sanctuary for you.’

“This is what the Lord God says: No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, may enter my sanctuary, not even a foreigner who is among the Israelites. 10 Surely the Levites who wandered away from me when Israel went astray, and who strayed from me after their idols,(M) will bear the consequences of their iniquity.(N) 11 Yet they will occupy my sanctuary, serving as guards at the temple gates(O) and ministering at the temple. They will slaughter the burnt offerings(P) and other sacrifices for the people and will stand before them to serve them.(Q) 12 Because they ministered to the house of Israel before their idols and became a sinful stumbling block to them, therefore I swore an oath[b] against them”(R)—this is the declaration of the Lord God—“that they would bear the consequences of their iniquity. 13 They must not approach me to serve me as priests(S) or come near any of my holy things or the most holy things. They will bear their disgrace and the consequences of the detestable acts they committed. 14 Yet I will make them responsible for the duties of the temple(T)—for all its work and everything done in it.

The Priests’ Duties and Privileges

15 “But the Levitical priests descended from Zadok,(U) who kept charge of my sanctuary when the Israelites went astray from me, will approach me to serve me. They will stand before me to offer me fat and blood.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. 16 “They are the ones who may enter my sanctuary(V) and approach my table to serve me.(W) They will keep my mandate. 17 When they enter the gates of the inner court they are to wear linen garments;(X) they must not have on them anything made of wool when they minister at the gates of the inner court and within it. 18 They are to wear linen turbans on their heads and linen undergarments around their waists.(Y) They are not to put on anything that makes them sweat. 19 Before they go out to the outer court,[c] to the people, they must take off the clothes they have been ministering in, leave them in the holy chambers, and dress in other clothes(Z) so that they do not transmit holiness to the people through their clothes.(AA)

20 “They may not shave their heads(AB) or let their hair grow long,(AC) but are to carefully trim their hair. 21 No priest may drink wine before he enters the inner court.(AD) 22 He is not to marry a widow or a divorced woman, but may marry only a virgin from the offspring of the house of Israel,(AE) or a widow who is the widow of a priest. 23 They are to teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and explain to them the difference between the clean and the unclean.(AF)

24 “In a dispute, they will officiate as judges and decide the case according to my ordinances.(AG) They are to observe my laws and statutes regarding all my appointed festivals, and keep my Sabbaths holy.(AH) 25 A priest may not come near a dead person so that he becomes defiled.(AI) However, he may defile himself for a father, a mother, a son, a daughter, a brother, or an unmarried sister. 26 After he is cleansed, he is to count off seven days for himself.(AJ) 27 On the day he goes into the sanctuary, into the inner court(AK) to minister in the sanctuary, he is to present his sin offering.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

28 “This will be their inheritance: I am their inheritance.(AL) You are to give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession. 29 They will eat the grain offering, the sin offering,(AM) and the guilt offering. Everything in Israel that is permanently dedicated to the Lord will belong to them.(AN) 30 The best of all the firstfruits of every kind and contribution of every kind from all your gifts will belong to the priests.(AO) You are to give your first batch of dough to the priest(AP) so that a blessing may rest on your homes.(AQ) 31 The priests may not eat any bird or animal that died naturally or was mauled by wild beasts.(AR)

The Sacred Portion of the Land

45 “When you divide the land by lot as an inheritance,(AS) set aside a donation to the Lord, a holy portion of the land,(AT) 8⅓ miles[d] long and 6⅔ miles[e] wide. This entire region will be holy. In this area there will be a square section[f] for the sanctuary, 875 by 875 feet,[g](AU) with 87½ feet[h] of open space all around it. From this holy portion,[i] you will measure off an area 8⅓ miles long and 3⅓ miles[j] wide, in which the sanctuary, the most holy place,(AV) will stand.[k] It will be a holy area of the land to be used by the priests who minister in the sanctuary, who approach to serve the Lord.(AW) It will be a place for their houses, as well as a holy area for the sanctuary. There will be another area 8⅓ miles long and 3⅓ miles wide for the Levites who minister in the temple;(AX) it will be their possession for towns to live in.[l]

“As the property of the city, set aside an area 1⅔ miles[m] wide and 8⅓ miles long, adjacent to the holy donation of land.(AY) It will be for the whole house of Israel. And the prince will have the area on each side of the holy donation of land and the city’s property, adjacent to the holy donation and the city’s property, stretching to the west on the west side and to the east on the east side.(AZ) Its length will correspond to one of the tribal portions from the western boundary to the eastern boundary. This will be his land as a possession in Israel. My princes will no longer oppress my people(BA) but give the rest of the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes.

“This is what the Lord God says: You have gone too far,[n](BB) princes of Israel! Put away violence and oppression and do what is just and right.(BC) Put an end to your evictions of my people.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. 10 “You are to have honest scales, an honest dry measure,[o] and an honest liquid measure.[p](BD) 11 The dry measure[q] and the liquid measure[r] will be uniform, with the liquid measure containing 5½ gallons[s] and the dry measure holding half a bushel.[t] Their measurement will be a tenth of the standard larger capacity measure.[u] 12 The shekel[v] will weigh twenty gerahs.(BE) Your mina will equal sixty shekels.

1 Peter 1:1-12

Greeting

Peter,(A) an apostle of Jesus Christ:

To those chosen, living as exiles(B) dispersed(C) abroad in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,(D) chosen(E) according to the foreknowledge(F) of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit,(G) to be obedient(H) and to be sprinkled with the blood(I) of Jesus Christ.

May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

A Living Hope

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.(J) Because of his great mercy(K) he has given us new birth(L) into a living hope(M) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead(N) and into an inheritance that is imperishable,(O) undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven(P) for you. You are being guarded by God’s power(Q) through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.(R) You rejoice in this,[a] even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials(S) so that the proven character of your faith(T)—more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire(U)—may result(V) in praise, glory, and honor(W) at the revelation of Jesus Christ.(X) Though you have not seen(Y) him, you love him;(Z) though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice(AA) with inexpressible and glorious joy, because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets,(AB) who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and carefully investigated. 11 They inquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ(AC) within them was indicating when he testified in advance(AD) to the sufferings of Christ(AE) and the glories(AF) that would follow.[b] 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you. These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you(AG) by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven(AH)—angels long to catch a glimpse of these things.

Ezekiel 42:1-43:27, James 5:1-20, Psalm 119:1-16, Proverbs 28:6-7

Today is the 21st day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. It is wonderful to be here with you around the Global Campfire as we continue day-by-day, step-by-step. This is that week, where at least in my life like, it’s Thanksgiving week in the United States. That doesn’t necessarily mean something to everybody all over the world, but it’s pretty major holiday here in the United States. And then that’s always on Thursday right. And then, the day after Thanksgiving is black Friday and it’s on, all the way on, the holiday season is upon us and so here we are. And I am especially grateful that we have the Global Campfire, that there is this kind of constant. This place that we can gather, this oasis of peace that we can come into and just allow the Scriptures to wash into our lives and kind of be together and at least have this place of serenity. Everything else can be a little bit chaotic, not that we want it that way, but things can be chaotic, but we at least have an oasis that we can come to each day and feast upon the Scriptures and enjoy the fact that we are not alone, that we are in this together with our brothers and sisters all over the world. So, it’s wonderful to be here at the Global Campfire with you today. And let’s do what we do, let’s take the next step forward together. The next step forward leads us back out into the book of Ezekiel. We’re reading from the Christian Standard Bible this week, Ezekiel chapters 42 and 43 today.

Commentary:

Okay so, we concluded the letter of James today. And I mentioned it’s unflinching and it is, I even said, it’s a butt kicker because it is, because it’s unflinching. And we could take that directness and you know, think like, it’s condemning or brings condemnation. Or we could say, James has been honest with us and actually James coming at this point in the year is profoundly helpful for us. In fact, I encourage you to go back and read James in its entirety, it will take you like 20 minutes. It’s not a superlong letter, maybe half an hour, if you’re just kind of going slow and really, really trying to digest what is…is being told to us. So many of these things apply to this season that we’re going into, even today, brothers and sisters do not complain about one another so that you will not be judged. That is the timely word, sometimes we can come around the Thanksgiving table and give thanks and then spend the rest of the day complaining about everything else in life and everybody else in life, but it was James who looked us in the face and said, look, you can burn your life down around you with the things that are coming out of your mouth. And this is true and it’s definitely true this time of year and so spending just a little bit more time in James with that in mind, like just okay, I’m gonna read through the letter of James again with the intent of getting advanced words for the season that I'm…that I’m going into, the season of the year that it is and make some decisions in advance. Because typically, in a chaotic season, it’s the stuff that comes up unexpectedly that we then respond to inappropriately, that then sets off all kinds of chain reactions that make all kinds of things a lot more difficult than they need to be.

Prayer:

And so, Father, we thank You for Your word. We confess our utter dependence upon You and need for You. We need You to help us do the right thing and we collaborate in that by paying attention and submitting ourselves, humbling ourselves before You, knowing that You will raise us up. But a very important thing that James teaches us is that we can say anything, how we live is actually the truth and that we can use our words to bring comfort, or we can use them for destruction, and we can even do that all on the same day. We can worship You from our lips and then curse one another from those same lips. And as James said this, this is not, like this is not how it’s supposed to be, this shouldn’t be happening. So, we’re paying attention and we’re taking heed and we need Your help to make corrections. Come Holy Spirit, we pray, lead us into all truth, we ask, in the name of Jesus, we ask expectantly, knowing that You want to help us with these things, that You desire our maturity, that You love it when we grow, that You look at us as Your children and You celebrate the little victories that we have a long way, as we celebrate our own children. Thank You for your kindness. Thank You for your patience, may we represent You well in this season, we ask. In Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer and Encouragements:

Good morning Daily Audio Bible Family, this is Karen from Florida. So, thankful Loreli that you are okay from your experience on the I-95. I used to go to church with you and you were the one that introduced me to Daily Audio Bible Family, many years ago. I was reintroduced this year from another friend from our same fellowship. And I’m very grateful and I’m so grateful that you’re okay. God bless you sister. You are true woman of God. I would also like to request prayer for my daughter today and myself. I am visiting with her in Canada, right now. She just had my first grandson and I’m so grateful. His name is Nikolai. My daughter is not a believer. She walked away from the word years ago. And now her sinful life has created a wall between her and our Lord. I just ask that you keep my daughter, Richelle, in your prayers. And her husband James, who’s the father of this beautiful little boy. So much fear in her heart, yet she won’t turn to the Lord, who can set her free. So, I just ask for your prayers for Richelle and James and Nikolai, today. Thank you DAB Family. God bless every one of you today.

Hey DAB brother and sisters. This is Byron out in Florida. Calling for Shawn from London, England. Shawn, I heard your call, and I heard your heart breaking over how you have fallen into addiction again. And I wanna give you a word of encouragement brother. You’re disgusted with yourself, but God is not disgusted with you. You’re disappointed in yourself; God is not disappointed in you. Anything that you’ve done, that was a surprise or shock to you, not a surprise, not a shock to God. And He still sent His Son to die on the cross for you, He still extends His grace, His love, and His presence. None of it changed because none of it depended upon you. I encourage you brother, take the focus off of yourself and put it onto Christ. The day your called aired, right before, another lady called in and talked about a verse that was lined in her grandmothers Bible. I forget the verse, but the point was, God is good, glory to Him. Even in your situation now, Shawn, in the midst of your despair, look up. Look at Him, take your eyes off yourself, off your circumstances and put it on Christ. And give Him the glory that He deserves because He loves you in spite of you and wants you, in spite of your mistakes. His presence is there for you, right now, and there’s nothing standing in the way of it. Give Him praise, give Him glory and get to you moving forward, one step at a time. Love you brother.

Hi, family. I’m just calling to pray for Shawn Rodgers from the UK. He phoned on the 16th of November asking for prayer and deliverance from alcohol and drug abuse. I heard your prayer and then I’ve just been thinking about you and praying for you, this morning. And then I heard a message. And I just wanted to quote to you, Billy Graham. He once said, the closer you get to Christ, the more sinful you are going to feel. The fact that you are aware of your sin and feel guilty about it, is a sign of a spiritual life. Everyone who has ever seen a true reflection of God, is deeply convicted of his own sin. And I think that is such a important message for you Shawn. Yes, you are going through a very difficult time. And it can’t be easy, struggling and battling this type of alcohol and drug dependence or addiction. But just remember that, as you are getting closer to God, you are becoming more and more aware of your sin. And so, it’s a sign of a spiritual life. So, praise be to God. Continue listening to the word and continue growing in your faith and leaning on God, every day, no matter how many times you fall, just get back up again. Just remember that the devil wants you to think that you’re failing. When, in fact, you are succeeding, and you will succeed, and you will be delivered from this. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Hi, DAB Family, this is God’s Gal, Minnesota. And it is Wednesday, November 16th. I’m calling today, to pray for Shawn, I believe it’s Rodgers. Shawn, from London, England in the UK. And I heard his call-in request for prayer. He is struggling with alcohol and sometimes drugs but alcohol primarily. And he just can’t seem to quit, he said, on his own. It’s an addiction. And I’m not gonna offer any advice because I’m not a professional. But and I know you just want prayer Shawn, so, that’s what I’m gonna do, right now. DABers please join me at the campfire, and we’ll pray for Shawn, in London, England. Father God, You are all knowing, all powerful, omniscient. And we’re so glad that we have You in our lives. Across the pond, Lord, I ask for You to meet Shawn, right where he is. And lift him up Lord. Help him to conquer this disease of alcoholism in any way he can. If that means, help, or, however. Lord, give him Your Holy Spirit and a peace in him that directs him to the way he should go. Let him know that we are with him, and we love him, and that You love him, Father. And I thank You Lord for watching over Shawn. In Your Holy name Father. Amen. Signing off. This is God’s Gal, Minnesota. Goodbye, DABers.

This is Victorious Soldier calling to pray for Susan in Haiti and also Shawn, dealing with drug and alcohol abuse. Gracious Father, we just ask You to touch Susan in Haiti, we just ask You to work a miracle. Father, we just ask You to have Your way. We just ask You to open doors that no man can close and ask You to bless. I ask You to touch Shawn. Father, in the name of Jesus, he’s having problems with alcohol. Rebuke that…that demon of…of, we rebuke that demon inside him Lord. Rebuke that spider of desire and cast out the cobwebs of life in him. Father, in the name of Jesus, and You give him the strength. Father, in the name of Jesus, to say no to it. Father, in the name Jesus, as You cast out that spider. And Lord, give him the desires of his heart. Put his trust in You. Fill him with Your Holy Ghost and Your fire. In the mighty name of Jesus. And Lord, we’ll give You the glory. In Jesus name. Thank you DABers. Have a good day. Bye Bye.

Ezekiel 42-43

The Priests’ Chambers

42 Then the man led me out by way of the north gate into the outer court.(A) He brought me to the group of chambers opposite the temple yard and opposite the building(B) to the north. Along the length of the chambers, which was 175 feet,[a](C) there was an entrance on the north; the width was 87½ feet.[b] Opposite the 35 foot space[c] belonging to the inner court and opposite the paved surface(D) belonging to the outer court, the structure rose gallery by gallery(E) in three tiers. In front of the chambers was a walkway toward the inside,(F) 17½ feet[d] wide and 175 feet long,[e] and their entrances were on the north. The upper chambers were narrower because the galleries took away more space from them than from the lower and middle stories of the building. For they were arranged in three stories and had no pillars like the pillars of the courts;(G) therefore the upper chambers were set back from the ground more than the lower and middle stories. A wall on the outside ran in front of the chambers, parallel to them, toward the outer court; it was 87½ feet long. For the chambers on the outer court were 87½ feet long, while those facing the great hall were 175 feet long.(H) At the base of these chambers there was an entryway on the east side as one enters them from the outer court.(I)

10 In the thickness of the wall of the court toward the south,[f] there were chambers facing the temple yard(J) and the western building, 11 with a passageway in front of them, just like the chambers that faced north.(K) Their length and width, as well as all their exits, measurements, and entrances, were identical. 12 The entrance at the beginning of the passageway, the way in front of the corresponding[g] wall as one enters on the east side, was similar to the entrances of the chambers that were on the south side.

13 Then the man said to me, “The northern and southern chambers that face the courtyard are the holy chambers where the priests who approach the Lord will eat(L) the most holy offerings.(M) There they will deposit the most holy offerings—the grain offerings, sin offerings, and guilt offerings—for the place is holy.(N) 14 Once the priests have entered, they are not to go out from the holy area to the outer court until they have removed the clothes they minister in, for these are holy.(O) They are to put on other clothes before they approach the public area.”(P)

Outside Dimensions of the Temple Complex

15 When he finished measuring inside the temple complex, he led me out by way of the gate that faced east and measured all around the complex.(Q)

16 He measured the east side with a measuring rod;

it was 875 feet[h] by the measuring rod.[i]

17 He[j] measured the north side;

it was 875 feet by the measuring rod.

18 He[k] measured the south side;

it was 875 feet by the measuring rod.

19 Then he turned to the west side

and measured 875 feet by the measuring rod.

20 He measured the temple complex on all four sides. It had a wall all around it,(R) 875 feet long and 875 feet(S) wide, to separate the holy from the common.(T)

Return of the Lord’s Glory

43 He led me to the gate,(U) the one that faces east, and I saw the glory of the God of Israel(V) coming from the east.(W) His voice sounded like the roar of a huge torrent,(X) and the earth shone with his glory.(Y) The vision I saw(Z) was like the one I had seen when he[l] came to destroy the city,(AA) and like the ones I had seen by the Chebar Canal.(AB) I fell facedown.(AC) The glory of the Lord entered the temple by way of the gate that faced east.(AD) Then the Spirit lifted me up(AE) and brought me to the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.(AF)

While the man was standing beside me, I heard someone speaking to me from the temple.(AG) He said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet,(AH) where I will dwell among the Israelites forever.(AI) The house of Israel and their kings will no longer defile my holy name by their religious prostitution and by the corpses[m](AJ) of their kings at their high places.[n](AK) Whenever they placed their threshold next to my threshold and their doorposts beside my doorposts, with only a wall between me and them, they were defiling my holy name by the detestable acts they committed.(AL) So I destroyed them in my anger. Now let them remove their prostitution and the corpses(AM) of their kings far from me, and I will dwell among them forever.(AN)

10 “As for you, son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel,(AO) so that they may be ashamed of their iniquities.(AP) Let them measure its pattern,(AQ) 11 and they will be ashamed of all that they have done. Reveal[o] the design of the temple to them—its layout with its exits and entrances(AR)—its complete design along with all its statutes, design specifications, and laws. Write it down in their sight(AS) so that they may observe its complete design and all its statutes and may carry them out.(AT) 12 This is the law of the temple: All its surrounding territory on top of the mountain(AU) will be especially holy. Yes, this is the law of the temple.

The Altar

13 “These are the measurements of the altar(AV) in units of length (each unit being the standard length plus three inches):[p](AW) The gutter is 21 inches[q] deep and 21 inches wide, with a rim of nine inches[r] around its edge. This is the base[s] of the altar. 14 The distance from the gutter on the ground to the lower ledge is 3½ feet,[t] and the width of the ledge is 21 inches. There are 7 feet[u] from the small ledge to the large ledge, whose width is also 21 inches. 15 The altar hearth[v] is 7 feet high, and four horns(AX) project upward from the hearth. 16 The hearth is square, 21 feet[w] long by 21 feet wide.(AY) 17 The ledge is 24½ feet[x] long by 24½ feet wide, with four equal sides.(AZ) The rim all around it is 10½ inches,[y] and its gutter is 21 inches all around it. The altar’s steps face east.”(BA)

18 Then he said to me, “Son of man,(BB) this is what the Lord God says: These are the statutes for the altar on the day it is constructed, so that burnt offerings(BC) may be sacrificed on it and blood may be splattered on it:(BD) 19 You are to give a bull from the herd(BE) as a sin offering(BF) to the Levitical priests who are from the offspring of Zadok,(BG) who approach me in order to serve me.”(BH) This is the declaration of the Lord God. 20 “You are to take some of its blood and apply it to the four horns(BI) of the altar, the four corners of the ledge, and all around the rim. In this way you will purify the altar and make atonement for it.(BJ) 21 Then you are to take away the bull for the sin offering, and it must be burned outside the sanctuary in the place appointed for the temple.(BK)

22 “On the second day you are to present an unblemished male goat as a sin offering. They will purify the altar just as they did with the bull. 23 When you have finished the purification, you are to present a young, unblemished bull(BL) and an unblemished ram from the flock.(BM) 24 You are to present them before the Lord; the priests will throw salt on them and sacrifice them as a burnt offering to the Lord.(BN) 25 You will offer a goat for a sin offering each day for seven days.(BO) A young bull and a ram from the flock, both unblemished, are also to be offered. 26 For seven days the priests are to make atonement for the altar and cleanse it. In this way they will consecrate it[z] 27 and complete the days of purification. Then on the eighth day(BP) and afterward, the priests will offer your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings on the altar, and I will accept you.”(BQ) This is the declaration of the Lord God.

James 5

Warning to the Rich

Come now, you rich(A) people, weep and wail over the miseries that are coming on you. Your wealth has rotted and your clothes are moth-eaten.(B) Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have stored up treasure in the last days.(C) Look! The pay that you withheld from the workers(D) who mowed your fields cries out, and the outcry of the harvesters has reached the ears of the Lord of Armies.(E) You have lived luxuriously on the earth and have indulged yourselves. You have fattened your hearts(F) in a day of slaughter.(G) You have condemned, you have murdered the righteous, who does not resist you.(H)

Waiting for the Lord

Therefore, brothers and sisters, be patient until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and is patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains.(I) You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.(J)

Brothers and sisters, do not complain about one another, so that you will not be judged. Look, the judge stands at the door!(K)

10 Brothers and sisters, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name as an example of suffering and patience. 11 See, we count as blessed those who have endured.[a] You have heard of Job’s endurance(L) and have seen the outcome that the Lord brought about—the Lord is compassionate and merciful.(M)

Truthful Speech

12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath.(N) But let your “yes” mean “yes,” and your “no” mean “no,” so that you won’t fall under judgment.[b]

Effective Prayer

13 Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises.(O) 14 Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.(P) 15 The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.(Q) 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.(R) 17 Elijah was a human being as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land.(S) 18 Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its fruit.(T)

19 My brothers and sisters, if any among you strays from the truth,(U) and someone turns him back,(V) 20 let that person know that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.(W)

Psalm 119

Delight in God’s Word

א Aleph

How[a] happy are those whose way is blameless,(A)
who walk according to the Lord’s instruction!(B)
Happy are those who keep his decrees(C)
and seek him with all their heart.(D)
They do nothing wrong;(E)
they walk in his ways.
You have commanded that your precepts(F)
be diligently kept.
If only my ways were committed
to keeping your statutes!(G)
Then I would not be ashamed(H)
when I think about all your commands.
I will praise you with an upright heart(I)
when I learn your righteous judgments.
I will keep your statutes;
never abandon me.(J)

ב Beth

How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping your[b] word.(K)
10 I have sought you with all my heart;(L)
don’t let me wander from your commands.(M)
11 I have treasured your word in my heart(N)
so that I may not sin against you.
12 Lord, may you be blessed;
teach me your statutes.(O)
13 With my lips I proclaim
all the judgments from your mouth.(P)
14 I rejoice in the way revealed by your decrees(Q)
as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on your precepts(R)
and think about your ways.(S)
16 I will delight in your statutes;(T)
I will not forget your word.
