Today is the 11th day of December. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian and, of course, it’s great to be here with you today, it’s great to be here with you every day, it’s great to share the rhythm of a year together day after day after day as we move through all of the different seasons of the year in community. And we find ourselves on the home stretch. And it is wonderful to be here with you around the Global Campfire today. So, we’re working our way through the book of Amos, which we began yesterday and will conclude tomorrow. And we’re reading from the Common English Bible this week. Today Amos chapters 4, 5, and 6.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your word, we thank You for another day in Your word, we thank You for Your faithfulness to speak to us through Your word, we thank You that…that we can see now, we can see what You’ve been doing all year, we can see how transformation has suddenly taken place. We…we certainly can see that we have a long way to go. Like…we have to collaborate in this life of transformation and sanctification. But we see how Your word has informed that process in us and we are grateful. And, so, we, along with the psalmist today say, “Father we cry out to You from the depths, listen to our voice. Let Your ears pay close attention to our request for mercy. If You kept track of sins Lord, who would stand a chance? But forgiveness is with You.” And that’s why we worship and honor You. Our hope is in You, Lord. We wait for Your promises. Our whole being waits for You Lord, more than the night watch waits for morning because faithful love is with You Lord, because great redemption is with our God. You are the one who will redeem us from all sin. And, so, come Holy Spirit, forgive us, lead us into all truth, reveal the path that leads to life, and narrow as it might be, we want to find it, we want to walk it, and this will only happen in collaboration with You. So, come Holy Spirit we pray. In the mighty name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

So, if supplies last until one week from today that will be the cutoff for shipping for Christmas for the Christmas Box 2019. So, be aware of that.
The other Christmas thing that’s going on right now is that we are getting ready for our annual Christmas party, our global Christmas party around the Global Campfire. And, so, the way that works is that during this week we all call in our holiday wishes, our holiday prayers, the things that we would say to each other, those that have been in community for this entire year moving the way forward through the Bible. So, it’s time to call in your holiday greeting. And it’s pretty simple because it’s the same way that we call in our prayer requests. So, we have Hotline button in the top of the app that you can press or, you know, several phone numbers you can call. We’ll talk about those in a minute. Same numbers, same button that we use for the prayer requests only when it turns Christmas time for one week this particular week, we also take these holiday greetings for one another. And the rule is simple. Simply don’t combine a prayer request and a holiday greeting in the same call. This is one time when you can actually hang up and call right back again. If you have a prayer request call that in separate. If you have a holiday greeting make sure that that stays separate as well and that will help us as we put this all together, going into next week. But during this week you can call in your holiday greetings. So,…so, do that.
