This week we begin with Easter Sunday but as we take our journey through the Scriptures during this week we’ll read from the English Standard Version. So, even here on Easter Sunday that’s what we’ll do, and we’ll pick up where we left off yesterday in the book of Joshua chapter 22 verse 21 through 23 verse 16. And by way of reminder, there’s peace that has begun to come to the newly settled land across the Jordan. and the two and a half tribes received their allotment of land on the east side of the Jordan River have been permitted to go home but they’ve erected this altar that has everyone confused. And, so, a delegation has gone out to see, basically, what’s going on here because this act could cause civil war. And, so, that’s where we pick up the story in Joshua 22.
Prayer:
Thank You, Father for Your word. Thank You for bringing us into this new week. Thank You for bringing us to this day where we are no longer lamenting, we are no longer sitting with what it cost to bring us freedom. We are now meditating on love that is beyond our comprehension. And Jesus, You have rescued us, You have saved us, but more importantly You have brought us into right standing with the Father and according to Your word it is now the same spirit that raised You from the dead that indwells us, that is living within us. And, so, we rejoice in Your victory and we choose to live within Your light. And we ask this to be a resurrection Sunday like no other, one in which we begin to realize the implications. It’s very easy for us to go through the rituals. It’s very easy for us to get dressed up and go to church and have a nice Easter dinner. It’s easy for us to be a part of the tradition of Your resurrection it’s much different to participate. Holy Spirit, well up within us, make us aware that we are irreversibly changed and that should change the rest of our lives irreversibly. This is because of You, Jesus. And, so, we worship You and we ask that we continue to be transformed from this day forward and for evermore pray this in Your holy name Jesus, the victorious one. Amen.
