Jeremiah 35:1-36:32, 1 Timothy 5:1-25, Psalm 89:14-37, Proverbs 25:25-27

Today is the 20th day of October, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian and it is a pleasure and joy and an honor and a privilege, to be here with you today, as we gather around the Global Campfire and move forward on our journey through the Bible this year. And obviously, every day leads us to where we left off. That’s how we take the next step forward and that leads us back into the book of Jeremiah. Today, we will read chapters 35 and 36.

Prayer:

Thank You, Father for Your word and another day to spend some time, poring over it and drinking from it, feasting upon it. We thank You for the spiritual nourishment that You provide to us each and every day through the Scriptures, as a gift that has certainly stood the test of time. This gift that finds itself to be relevant in our lives, no matter what time we are reading them. We thank You for the many examples, examples of the prophets like Jeremiah. But also, in today’s reading, the King Josiah listening to Your word and then cutting it out, column by column and throwing it into the fire. That is a stark picture, and we could never imagine ourselves throwing the Scriptures into the fire and yet, when we have heard Your word and are not doers of Your word and ignore Your word, we might as well be throwing it in the fire, and we have done this. So, forgive us Lord, thank You for these examples, all of these people that we have met, all of these stories that we have followed, so much imitates our own lives. You have given us the ability to look into these stories and watch where the story goes, so that we can be warned about where our story is going. Holy Spirit, our story goes nowhere without You. And our story, goes in circles when we don’t obey You and follow Your leadership. Come and lead us and help us to be aware and paying attention, that we might listen, that we might, as we talked about yesterday, practice day-by-day, continually, what it’s like to be a godly person. We pray this in the victorious name of Jesus. Amen.

Announcements:

dailyaudiobible.com is home base, that is where you can find out what is going on around here. If you’re using the Daily Audio Bible app, you can do that as well, right in the palm of your hand and get the Daily Audio Bible app from whatever app store is connected to your device.

There is something going on around here, we’ve been talking about for a couple of days, a brand-new resource is on its way. It’s will release on the first day of November, so just under two weeks from now. It is available for pre-order now, wherever you get music, and this is a project called Sleep, A Contemplative Journey. And it follows along with the pattern of Heart, A Contemplative Journey, which was the most recent resource that we’ve released. And so, it’s a guided journey into sleep with versus being read over us, to bring calm and hope and rest. And it is created, well this pretty particular project was mixed in Dolby Atmos. So, that’s called spatial audio on a lot of different devices, and it creates this kind of enveloping sound, surround space, that is just a vast and expansive and just so well suited for project like this because it allows us to kind a just lay down and enter a space that is serene and warm and large and spacious and calm. And then verses that just are interspersed throughout, leading us deeper into rest and hope and encouragement and sleep. And so, this will be available on 1 November, it is available for pre-order now and if you, preorder it, it will show up on 1 November. So, check that out. As we go into a busy season of year where our sleep gets disrupted and interrupted and we find ourselves exhausted around the holidays. What if we were intentional about our rest and this resource is available for exactly that. I have been through my own seasons of struggling to have the adequate rest and sleep that we need and the adequate kind of headspace to just go to sleep without being, you know, it’s all the cares of this life kind of churning around inside of us. And that was the inspiration here, to create a space for God inside of our rest and within our sleep. So, check it out on the iTunes store or wherever it is that you, what, whatever, whatever app store, music store is connected to your device, you should be able to find it.

Prayer and Encouragements:

This is Adopted Son in Spokane, Washington. I wanted to encourage the family overall that, you have all incredibly encouraged me and specifically listening to Yolonda’s message for her son, Al. I’ve heard Al call in and I remember those calls and I’ve prayed for him before. Boy, I hope there could, you know, I hope this new school situation is a good one. And if it’s not, don't…don’t give up on seeking an even better place. My mother was a single mom, was really poor and she managed to help me get into a school where I got a scholarship and was able to get a better education. I was bullied my freshman year and change schools three times. So, I do understand a little bit, but I’ve never experienced the kind of violence Al went through. And it just broke my heart, brought tears to my eyes to hear what he’s been gone through. So, Lord Jesus, pray that You would bring hope, healing, restoration. I pray that You would bring conviction to these young men, who have been so cruel. Lord Jesus, I pray that Al would experience connection with You and your goodness in, in the midst of suffering. And I pray that You would bring him a strong friend and a relationship with somebody who loves You and knows you. But Lord, I pray that he winds up at the right school. Be with Yolanda, comfort her heart. Help her to be wise. Help her to see what she can do and Lord, just pray, pray over this, because we know You don’t want Al to be harmed at the hands of kids at school. It should be a place for learning. And my heart goes out to, and I’ll continue thinking of you both. Update when you can. Love you guys.

Hey there Daily Audio Bible family, this is John calling, in the car on my way from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania to see my son John and daughter Kelsie, a couple of them, three of them that are down there in Pennsylvania today. Moved to Massachusetts recently, heading back today to play a gig with my son in the band. And spend a couple minutes with them and then shoot back home to Massachusetts again. Anyway, that’s a different story for a different time. I’m calling today for Rich that called from Arkansas. A Rich, I heard your call into the prayer line on the 15th of October, today. My friend you sounded, you sounded a little beat up and down and out. And then you talked about at the top of your prayer just how you used to listen to the DAB and then just ended after that, you didn’t listen to the brothers and sisters. My friend, that’s me too. Going back several years ago, I think it was maybe 2011, 2012 maybe when I first started listening to DAB. And I went through the same thing. In fact, I’m just gonna be honest with everybody, I don’t then, don’t think wrong of me but I wasn’t even walking in the Christian faith then. But I find that everyone was kind of complaining of the stuff that they had going on in their lives. And I didn’t know we had this God, that Jesus lifted us. And that we could go to Him with, with everything. And that you know, where two or more are gathered in His name that, He hears and takes everything to the Father. Anyway, again, that’s another story for another time. I love all of you and I’ve been a part of this community for a long time. And my encouraging word to you, Rich, because you said you needed an encouraging word is that Jesus, is in you. He’s living in your heart. He’s the way maker and the miracle worker. He’s making a difference right now for you. And I love you brother. Over and out.

Hey DAB family, this is Mandela from Western Maryland. Thank you, Brian for this fantastic ministry. Thank you for being faithful and always being there every morning. I’m a long-time listener, it is my second time calling. And just want to thank God for this wonderful community. Today, I would love to ask for prayers for my friend, her name is Barrel. And she just lost her son in a motorcycle accident last week. Yeah, sometimes we just don’t understand why somethings like this happen. And but we know that God has a plan, and this did not happen by surprise to God. So, I just pray and ask that we, that you lift her up and her family at this time, at this terrible time. That He be a comforter to her, she finds a way to, to know Him, if she doesn’t know Him. So, I’m just gonna say a prayer right now. Thank You Lord Jesus, for just this wonderful family. Thank You Lord for all that You do, Lord Jesus. I just pray for my friend, Barrel, who’s mourning and grieving the loss of her son. Pray for all those other people who are also suffering through loss. Lord Jesus, just find a way to give us a sign and to speak to our spirit to understand that we are not alone. I thank You to all those who are carrying other burdens, Lord Jesus. I just pray that You be their comforters and show them the light. Thank You Lord Jesus. Thank you, family. Love you guys and I appreciate the work that everybody does. Make it a great day.

Hi, friends. This is Widowed Mom in Montana. And I’m just asking for prayer because my 16-year-old daughter, I haven’t seen, I’ve reported her as a runaway. And she’s mad at me. And she’s says I make her want to kill herself. And I just want her to come home, I have three other kids. And they’re all coping in their own ways, from the loss of their dad and right now my 16-year-old daughter is acting out. And she says I don’t accept her and she’s just really angry and it’s coming out on me. And I just need God’s peace. My faith has been in the gutter for a while. So, I would appreciate your prayers and support. Thank you.

Hey DAB family, God Bless you all. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with you now and forevermore. I pray that the joy of the Lord will be your strength, right now in this moment, wherever you are, whether you’re traveling or you’re at home, whether it’s the day or night, I pray that the Lord just floods your heart with joy and gives you a reason for your heart to sing and be full of laughter and gladness. Because He is good. I pray that in the midst of whatever we’re going through, whatever you’re going through, that you’ll be able to see His goodness and you’ll be able to be glad, that you’ll be able to rejoice in Him. I just want to lift up a prayer request for my dad who went into hospital yesterday. His name is Dennis. And he went into hospital yesterday with cardiac arrythmia, so his heartbeat is very irregular. He hasn’t responded to medication. He’s been in now for about 18 hours in this situation. And I just wanted to ask you, brothers and sisters, to agree with me in prayer that God will turn it around, that there will be total healing and restoration in the name of Jesus. And I just want to use him as a point of contact and everyone who has family members, friends, dear one’s, loved ones in the hospitals right now. For those that don’t have anyone, we just lift up a prayer of healing, that God would send forth his word. And also, encouragement for those that are in that situation, that God would encourage our hearts and let us have peace in believing in Him. Love you all, God Bless you. Bye Bye.
