Ezekiel 37:1-38:23, James 1:19-2:17, Psalms 117:1-2, Proverbs 28:1

Today is the 18th day of November. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I’m Brian. It’s great to be here with you and, yeah, we’re turning the knob and stepping into a brand-new shiny, sparkly week and I’m looking forward to a great week and I hope the same is true for you as we kind of prepare to move ourselves into the holiday season. But one thing is sure and true, the rhythm that we have established all year long in bringing God’s spoken word into our lives every single day, this will continue to be a constant no matter how chaotic the season can become. So, with all of that said, let’s dive in. We’re in a new week, so we’ll read from a new translation and this week that will be the Good News Translation. And we’ll go back out into the book of Ezekiel. Today, chapter 37 verse 1 through 38 verse 23.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word and we thank You for this new week and all that it represents and sort of the…turning into the holiday season as we begin to contemplate Your arrival. And here in the United States with Thanksgiving coming up, it’s just a busy, busy season. So, the book of James comes at the right time for us to remind us that we can say whatever we want to say but if our actions don’t line up then all we’re doing is showing the disconnect within ourselves. Holy Spirit, we want to be whole and we want our faith to be more than just our talk. We want our faith to be our actions as well because as we were told today, faith without action or works is dead and that is not the story we want to be telling and it is most certainly not the story we want to be telling as we move into the final push, the final season of the year. And, so, come Holy Spirit, plant the word of God into our lives. Let us see that what was dead at one time can live again as we learn from the book of Ezekiel in the valley of dry bone today. We are so encouraged as we move into this week Lord. So, come Holy Spirit, plant Your word deep into our lives and let it permeate all of our choices and decisions, all of our actions in this coming week. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Good morning family, this is Cherry Chase Cherry pie, I hope all is well. I am calling to give some support. I just want to call…and I’m sorry…I’ll call out…your names slipped but you’re in California, you lost everything, your house, and everything is gone. I’m covering you sister, you and your family, and other people that’s there. It’s just a hard time for you guys. I ask God to cover you and ask for rain. Also, I want you guys to continue to pray for my job and my marriage. I’ve also seen God pull-through with my job that I hear other callers call in. So, I’m gonna lift you guys up that are having problems on the job, with people on the job, because the devil still is busy but God is even better. So, I still push hard but I’m asking you all to still cover me with my job and with my marriage. Again, I’ve tried to be more patient with Malcolm, tried to learn to talk and to speak to him without yelling. And I’m getting better but, you know, I’m still asking for that coverage. I’m also praying for all the married couples. We need prayer. The devil is busy. He’s trying to separate us. But the __ because we’ll stand and we’ll stray strong and we just have to keep continuing to push our own self. Sometimes you gotta get up and you got a push your own self and not wait for someone else to push for you. So, today if you don’t have that push I’m gonna push for you. I’m pushing for each and every one of you guys and I’m praying for you guys. I love you. You guys have a great and wonderful and marvelous holiday, I am. Talk to you soon.

Good morning DAB family, Michael from Mesa. It’s oh dark 30 this morning because I can’t sleep because of the tripping of my fire alarm that was going on because my battery was running low. So, it’s a great time to sit down and listen to DAB. And in the prayer request this morning, Paula the child advocate, we heard of your story and I am so sorry. Our hearts are with you girl. Our prayers are with you. And, so, let’s just go there shall we? Dear heavenly father we do pray for Paula and for all of those who have been in the way of the fire. And Lord we know that You understand what’s going on and that You have a handle on all of this. And we just pray that You would be with Paula and those who have suffered…suffered such a loss and be with them and help them to continue to see that they have You, that they can turn to You, that You are a great blessing, that You are the real inheritance. And yet we still go on day-to-day Lord where we need to eat and to drink and to live. Put shelter over their head. And, so, we pray Lord that You would be their great provider and to extend Your hand and great mercy to allow those that need help to receive it and to help us who can give Lord to do so. We thank You Lord for Your sovereignty and for Your great love. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Paula, we love You girl. Hang in there. This is Michael from Mesa.

Hello Daily Audio Bible family, this is Jay from Nashville. Just wanted to call and respond to Pamela, the pastor’s wife request for us to pray for those in California and the fires and to not judge a state. And, you know, up until this moment Pamela, I didn’t even realize that I was judging California. You know, it’s definitely one of the more liberal progressive states in our union but, you know, until you said that, I didn’t realize that I was judging it. And I have been. So, I must confess that and ask for forgiveness for those of you who live in California because that’s not my place. But at any rate, let’s pray. Heavenly father, Lord, we are just so overwhelmed and devastated by what’s been going on in California in the way of fires. And Lord in this prayer I would ask that You would forgive me for judging the state of California for different things that go against Your word when in reality I’ve done many things to go against Your word. So, with that said Lord, father, we pray for rain, we pray for a rain that has never been seen before for these fires, a rain that will extinguish this fire and put out the smoldering embers beneath, a rain that would put an end to the suffering in the destruction and the wildfires that are going on. And father we pray this, and we believe this according to Your will in the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen. I love You all. God, bless.

Hello, this is Not Shaken. Hello my dear friends, I am calling for something that a lot of us I’m sure are all concerned about and that is this Thanksgiving family time together. I know some of us have had estranged relationships and that’s true in my case. And I’m just praying for all of us that this turns out to be a very, very blessed Thanksgiving. And that if we do have these relationships going on that they can somehow be mended and if we have been hurt by others we set aside…I’m going to try very, very hard to put that beside myself so that I can just love these people through Jesus. And I’m going to just forget everything that’s happened and just smile and be happy. And I’m hoping that this, this is a very, very blessed Thanksgiving. God bless you all of you. Again, this is Not Shaken.
