Ruth 2:1-4:22, John4:43-54 , Psalms 105:16-36, Proverbs 14:26-27

Today is the 6th day of May. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It’s great to be here with you today at the threshold of a shiny, sparkly, new week that we could walk in together. And we talk about it…I don’t even know where the tradition of shiny, sparkly new weeks came from. It’s just, every time we get a new Sunday, it’s like, this is a new week. Nothing’s been done yet, no mistakes have been made and we get to choose how we’re going to walk into this week. So, it’s exciting. It’s one of the examples of how God’s mercy is new every morning. And we get to start over. So, we’re moving into this new week, of course, picking up where we left off yesterday in the Scriptures, which would lead us back into the story of Ruth. And this week we’ll read from the New International Version. Ruth chapters 2 through 4.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You for Your word and we thank You for this shiny, new, sparkly week that we get to walk in together with the counsel of your Word, the fellowship of community, and the guidance of Your Holy Spirit. These are essential to us. So, we invite You to come. And Jesus, lead us forward into all truth into this week as we commit ourselves to following Your lead. Come, Holy Spirit. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Hi neighbors. It’s Lisa the encourager. I am calling today, I was driving in my car, and I’m on a trip and I was listening to April the 30th and Viv from Canada called and said the most beautiful prayer for me and my husband. My husband Jeff lost his dad unexpectedly. He had a heart attack and it was just a shock to the whole family. And Viv, your prayer just meant the world to me and I’m sure others have been praying and I really just wanted to call to say thank you so much. I love you all so much and I appreciated your words, your kind words about asking God to shine his light upon us. Right as you were saying that the most beautiful sunlight just came through the car. It just meant the world to me and I just love you so much. I love your prayers Viv. And, also, I just want to thank everyone else. I know that Annette from Oklahoma reached out to me just at the right time. She had no idea what I was going through. And just God is so good to bring us all together when we go through these deep valleys of dark times. Just thank you all so much and I will get back on. But I’ll just say one more thing. If you would just pray for Jeff’s mom. He’s stayed with her a good week and a half after or a week after his dad passed. And, so, her name is Joan S. and it’s been very, very hard for her. So, if you’ll pray for her I would greatly appreciate it. I love you all so much. Thank you. Bye-bye.

Hi Daily Audio Bible family. This is Kristin from San Antonio. I wanted to give a praise report and share with the community how God’s been working in shifting my company culture and he’s opened up doors and opportunities to share his word. I started and completed his seven-week Bible study with several women in the office and we’re about to start our second one. So, praise the Lord for that. It’s been great. I ask for prayers and support of leadership and this next study and that I’ll be able to get more people involved so we can fellowship and grow closer together as we seek to grow closer to our heavenly Father. I also just want to take this opportunity to reach out and ask for prayers for my husband and for our marriage. He has unfortunately decided as of about a few weeks ago, that he wasn’t going to go to church with me and our kids anymore and that he doesn’t like the person that I’ve become. He clearly has a strong spiritual battle waging over him and he’s harmed his heart. Satan has blinded him so much to the truth of who God made him to be into the truth of who I am as his wife. And I just ask that you please join me in praying for the release of his strongholds and that God will soften his heart and renew his mind. He was not supportive that I recently went to the More Gathering and I feel like that has caused a bigger rift in the recent weeks and it’s just been really difficult. So, if you guys could please pray for that I would really appreciate it. And I love all of you guys so much. And thank you for your support.

Good morning it is beloved by him in Gloucester in the UK. It’s Thursday the 4th of May. I just listen to…while I’ve been listening to what Brian…what he has to say in any podcast…they all touch you don’t they? __ to be touched by my brother. And I think it was the first one. So, I’ve got a message to all of my brothers and sisters out there, my fellow believers in Christ. You are loved. You are so, so precious to God. You know, you are His creation. He knitted you together in your mother’s womb. He knows who you are. He knows who He created you to be. And He loves you, regardless. You know, we read the story of Jesus three times through now. That’s what God was prepared to do. That’s what Jesus was prepared to do for you. We know that we’re sinners. Don’t we? We know that we do wrong. We know that we do things against God. And we go to God for forgiveness and he forgives us. We believe that God so loved the world that he gave His only son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life because Jesus paid the price of our sin on the cross. As we listen to Him being crucified again and John, think, He did that for you because He loves you and me and everyone that much, so that we can have a relationship with Him. You are loved. You are precious. And one day, God will call us all home. But He has a purpose for us here now. You might not know what it is.

Hi this is Thirsty Cow from Sydney Australia. Few things today. So, I’ll just keep quick. Firstly, thank you so much for your prayers. My husband and I really have a sense of peace since I last called it. Even though there’s still a few things that were not sure of, but huge praise for that. Secondly, I’m really calling in after 3rd of May podcast. Wow, what a great traffic bite analogy that was. I mean, for me, it was just very convicting. It just hit the nail on the head. Such a hard concept of what faith and work with salvation. You know, it doesn’t help to keep saying I’m saved and go give me over and over because if I keep rushing and running a red lights, I mean, I’m destined for a crash. You know, we just need to stop at the red light. And it’s sort of like some of the phone calls I keep hearing for prayers of which I’m praying for. And, you know, I feel the pain there, but if there’s something you’re struggling with and your questioning, but you know deep down what God has to say about it, I mean, let’s just stop at the red light. Anyway, I mean, not only did it convict me but I sort of able was to be used today. It was amazing. As a colleague was leaving, I was in conversation, I just suddenly felt this urge to share this analogy with him. And he suddenly stopped me and he says, just before you started talking I heard this voice tell me, listen to what she’s about to say. This is for you. And that changed my day. You don’t know what’s going on in my life, but I was leading in so discouraged and confused and anguished and questioning God, but what you said in that analogy is exactly what I needed to hear. I was just in shock. I was shaking. I was almost in tears. I mean, wow, God can use the Daily Bible even through me. Hallelujah, at work. So that was amazing. Anyway, not long to go but I just wanted to let a few of you know, today, Jerry from the 4th of May, I’m praying for you. You are saved and you should know it. And God will work in you there. But that’s all. Thanks for your time. Thirsty Cow from Sydney.

Jerry, this is 4th of May. You called in. This is Michelle from Pennsylvania. You called in just asking for prayer over your addictions that you’ll be 50 this year. I am with you right there. And Terry know that you are a child of God. If you have accepted God and you have backslidden, confess those sins as you just did with your mouth and believe that He will save you. You start speaking those demons out of you, cast them out right now just as the demon possessed son. That father asked Jesus for him to help believe and not to doubt. Call on Jesus that He would help you not to doubt that He is real and that He is working in your life. He has never left you but you do need to deal with these things. Call on Him to cast out this addiction that you have for alcohol in the name of Jesus. And you start speaking truth into your life. Philippians 4:8, whatever is true and right, take nothing out. Take all other thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ. If it is something you shouldn’t be doing, He gives you a way of escape. You stand firm in what He says about you and you start speaking it out loud Terry. You say it. I am a child of God. I am the head and not the tail. I am found favor by God. I will walk in the path of the spirit and not by the flesh. Lord Jesus we just call on you now to help Terry through this. Show yourself in his life. Make his lips speak what the Holy Spirit gives him to speak and let it only be truth. Terry, you walk in truth and you know what truth is. Say it out loud. Cast the demon out and avoid those places that you have temptation and walk in the Spirit and speak God’s Script…
