Judges 15:1-16:31, John 2:1-25 , Psalms 103:1-22, Proverbs 14:17-19

Today is the 2nd day of May. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. l am, of course, Brian, as I am every day. It’s good to be here with you today and excited to kind of get ourselves, get our feet into this new month and begin to travel the journey through May and the journey through the Scriptures that will accompany us through this month. And that will lead us back to where we left off yesterday in the book of Judges. And we’ve begun to get to know this Sampson figure. His birth and all that was foretold about him into his young adulthood. And we’ll continue with that journey today reading from the Names of God Bible. Judges 15 and 16.

Prayer:

Father, we thank You.  We thank You for Your Word.  And the encouragement that it brings us each and every day as we move into the drama of different stories.  And as we hear the words spoken so long ago, and this includes the Psalms.  We pray along with the psalms.  We align our heart and all of the motives of our heart with Your Word by declaring the psalm.  Praise You, God, from the center of our being, from our very soul.  And may we never forget all the good You have done. You are the one who forgives all of our sins.  You are the one who heals all of our diseases. You are the one who rescues our life from the pit and we are grateful. You are the one who crowns us with mercy and compassion new every morning and we are grateful. You are the one who fills our lives with blessing. You make us Young again, like an eagle. You do what is right and fair. You are compassionate, merciful, patient and always ready to forgive, and we are grateful.  As high as the heavens are above the earth, that is how vast Your mercy is toward us, we who fear You.  As far as the east is from the west, that is how far You have removed our rebellious acts from Yourself. And if they are removed from You, then they are certainly removed from us. You have given us permission to come into Your presence, and You have washed us clean of every wrongdoing. We are before You righteous and we are grateful. And we are speechless. You are good and everything good in our lives comes from You. And we have put our hope in everything else but You.  But we put all of our hope in You as we praise You, God, from the center of our soul. Come, Holy Spirit, we pray. In Jesus name. Amen.

Announcements:

dailyaudiobible.com is the website. It’s home base. It’s where you find out what’s afoot, what’s going on around here. So be sure to check in. And check it out.

I want to announce the next release for the new Daily Audio Bible app, which is 1.0.10. I’m learning a lot as we release these updates. I think our entire development team is because it’s such a multi- faceted thing where everything is connected together. So, when you change one thing, you gotta make sure everything’s gonna work. So, we’ve been doing a lot of testing. And most of the pesky little bugs are squashed as they say. But then there’s also the interface and user experience and all of the things that go along with that. So we’ve been doing some work on that. There has been some confusion about whether or not, like if you’re wanting to download the Daily Audio Bible, whether or not it’s actually downloaded. So, in this new update, there is a download progress indicator. So, when you open up the app everything starts to connect to the system and you can take a few seconds, maybe ten seconds, but you’ll see a progress download indicator appear once it’s connected to the server.  And then when an episode is downloaded, you’ll see a little cloud.  We’ve also addressed some streaming and playback issues. And in this new release, landscape mode is now available. So, if you’re using a tablet and you turn it sideways. It’d already been locked in portrait mode because we were working on the landscape mode feature.  And so that’s released in the new update.  We had to do some tweaks for the iPhone X. Those are done.  And we’ve improved the synchronization with the journal system when you take notes and write them into your app so you can remember them.  Then there are some Android-  specific issues that we’ve tackled.  And the app is now available on the Amazon platform or Amazon -specific devices. So everyday we’re taking steps forward on the app just like we’re taking steps forward through the Bible this year. So, if you’re using the new Daily Audio Bible app, make sure you update because every time we update, things get more and more stable and include more and more features. Be sure to update. Now that’s available wherever you get your apps.

If you want to partner with the Daily Audio Bible, you can do that at dailyaudiobible.com as well. There’s a link on the homepage. If you’re using the app, you can press the give button in the upper right-hand corner. Or, if you prefer, the mailing address is P.O. Box 1996, Spring Hill, Tennessee, 37174.

And as always, if you have a prayer request or comment, 877-942-4253 is the number to dial.

And that’s it for today. I’m Brian. I love you and I’ll be waiting for you here tomorrow.

Community Prayer and Praise:

Hey Daily Audio Bible family. It’s Monica in Kentucky and I’m calling give a shout out and lift up a few people in prayer. First of all, I want to join with everybody praying for Mark S. and his strength is stamina. And also Mark, that you would forgive yourself for whatever it is that you’re struggling with. And Lee from New Jersey, for your anger prayers, I’m joining with you and I’m going to have something to say that on a future call in about anger. I’m also praying for Beth in Chicago, Miguel in Santa Rosa and your sweet mama and her recovery from her back surgery. And I’m praying for Terria and for her baby Destiny, the baby Destiny with the metabolic disorder and her parents, Sheila and BJ. And also, Lisa the Encourager and your husband’s family, oh my goodness, I’m sorry about Jeff’s father and all the stress of him going back and forth with all his new job stuff. And also, Diane O. B. I’m praying for you because some of the things you struggle with I struggle with. I’m a paper hoarder and I’m getting ready to start the new health plan myself to try to lose a little bit of weight. So, I’m praying for you. And I have two prayer requests, one for a friend of mine, Raymond M. and his wife Eleanor. They lost their adults son to a diabetic episode. I think he was a type I diabetic and he died unexpectedly at the age of 51. And they’ve already buried their adult daughter who died of cancer a few years ago. So, sweet Raymond and Eleanor lost their adult children. And finally, for my spring allergies. Every time I hear my voice call in I’m clearing my throat. So, pray against my spring allergies. That’s all folks. Thanks, and have a great week.

Good morning Daily Audio Bible family. This is Lee from New Jersey. It is Monday morning, April 30th. So, one day prior to May. We are doing good to so far. Thank God. Praise God for that. Listening to this morning’s podcast and the commentary towards the end or the calls toward the end. Paul from Albuquerque, thank you for lifting up the men and praying for us with regards to the…what we do after we sin…the repercussions of our sins…have we learned anything from our sins. You know, that’s important. Praise God and thank you for doing that. Today is day seven of my prayer for anger, not necessarily for anger, that’s the way I say it…but praying against anger for our brothers and sisters in the community. So, Father, we pray today for the victims of our anger, for the children, for the men, the women, the wives, the husband’s, the parents, the grandparents, the grandchildren, anyone involved that has to bear the wrath of our anger, that that anger has torn there spirits apart and has led them to believe the lie that they’re less than what they really are or who they really are and who they’re supposed to be in you Lord. Forgive us Lord for destroying that in some of these people, especially in the children who look to us as mentors and look to us with hope, and we’re the first ones to destroy that because we give into our anger. Trying to feel better, trying to control things, instead what we do…we do control things but not for You. Instead we control things for the evil. Father, this is one of the deepest prayers of my heart Lord. Will You forgive us, please, for anyone that we have hurt, as I mentioned, that we have destroyed, we have destroyed their spirit, and we have mentally beat them…

Hi this Sharon the Victorious. I want to thank everybody for all your prayers. Things haven’t changed much. My husband’s going to need major back surgery. I don’t talk to my daughter. She doesn’t want to have anything to do with me. But, you know, I want to thank you all, especially you Miguel. You have always been there. And there’s so many of you, I can’t remember your names, but if you’ve prayed for me and I appreciate it because things have gotten better and me not crying every day like I was. And I just want to thank you and I thank Brian and Jill for this program and God bless all of you and I do pray for all of you and thank you God bless you. And Miguel, I hope your mother’s okay. Thank you. God bless you.

Hello family. Drew from the bay area. A shout out to Asia, Bart, Slave of Jesus - love you brother when you call in with those verses. And I just wanted you guys to pray for my daughter, my daughter Maren. Many of you know we’ve been apart for a number of years. I have a granddaughter I haven’t seen in over four years and there were some evil things that went on, don’t know that we need to go into the details but Maren and her husband Robert are now reaching out to me. And I’ve forgiven them a long time ago. Just asking you for your prayers that I would like to meet with an intermediary, someone that God sends so we can sit down and talk about how we go forward and build our relationship, restore it in a godly way. I don’t want to just start over and jump into a toxic situation. So, things are changing, God is working. I just really would appreciate your prayers. Thank you. Love you guys.
